Great song
Nothing Is better than this!!! 💯💯💯💯💯💯🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
Next Wednesday OCt 25 I’m in the founders circle ⭕️…. Yes! I’ll be standing!
If David Lee Roth had not left, the band would have peaked with 1984. Sammy Hagar helped them go higher.
Peaked? Were they 80 years old at the time? They would have been even bigger if DLR stayed, he’s the real voice of Van Halen
@@matmig09 the songwriting was DEAD by 1984......Both bands were great and VH was a better "show" with DLR.
Absolutely true. The band reached superstardom as one of the best bands in the world with Hagar.
They really weren’t with Roth.
I disagree. Roths ego had become unbearable. They would have never written the songs they did with Roth.
They had more #1s. More albums sales. And more sold out concerts with Hagar. The band was way more successful with Hagar and the music reflects it.
None of that is debatable. They were better with Hagar. And that’s probably how they will be remembered 50 years from now.
Roth will be remembered as a brash showman whose ego ruined his time with VH. AND ruined the possible reunion before it even got started.
Roth was more lf a showmanship on stage but Sammy is definitely a much better singer. I prefer Sammy Van Halen.
Eddie Van Halen... the king of rhythm and lead guitar playing.
Like if you agree with me. There’s no denying.
Amen, bro. Amen and TOTAL respect for Angus Young. Hey, if u grew up on Rock n Roll, then u know this shot!
Plays guitar as if it is the piano and drums all together !!
A true guitar legend hope to see him again on the other side love you can halen
Way better than Jimmy Page.
RIP Eddie, you left us way too soon😘😢
You will never see this again in our screwed up world 2020 2021 !! Thank god i am 56 years old !!! Lived in the best of times !! Rock on !!
Saw every tour that came to the garden in ny.from 1980. There will never be another band like thid.so glad I was alive to see
The mighty Van halen. Learn how to play drums. Alex you are a beast.
I have to agree. Dream another dream, this dream is over.
the greatest era of Van halen in my opinion. they made the best songs progressively and emotionally when Sammy was with them
I don't know about better, certainly different. Saw both versions live many times. Way tighter live when Sammy was in the band. Most nights Dave sounded like crazy, too much screwing around. But I have to say the Fair Warning show at the LA Forum was the best VH concert I ever saw. Totally EPIC!!
I saw 5150 and Eat Em and Smile tours. Both were great. I only wish I got to see original line up back in the day as well.
Vincent Van Gogh Yes. Fatherhood suited Eddie well.
🐎 horseshit my laddy david had his ways JUST LIKE everyone else's position in a famous band or a BAND THAT'S SUPER AMAZING but cant get a break Sammy is a control freak witch is not uncommon for a lead singer i PLAYED bass guitar off and on for many well known bands one was my first and last GUITAR hero Mr R O N N I E. MONTROSE I got to ask the thing every montrose fan has wonders Sammy wouldn't have ever got into a position with out ronnie or got to be a frontman for the greatist smoking hot band from southern calif. But he ALWAYS has to be the center of attention HARD to do WITH THE WORLD'S GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER IN YOUR BAND. the end .rip king edward ❤
@@stephengiffith1010 Its horseshit that fatherhood suited Eddie well? His son was the most important thing in his life and it showed.
Crazy how every Van Halen song just brings a smile to my face. RIP EVH!🤘🏼
Thank Sammy
Which was better. Diamond Dave or Sammy? Listen to Good Enough after a 5 year hiatus.
Absolutely
Ain’t it the truth!
Sammy is one of those rare singers that sounds just as good in person as on the record. Excellent.
vizvizvizvizviz yep... I hate I missed it
Not surprising he sounds so good on this recording, they went back into the studio and re recorded all the vocals.....
Bob Woods that wasn’t Sammys fault Ed was out of tune 90% (on backing vocals and guitars) of the time on RHRN. Vocally guy is as good as it gets. Guitar magazine shat ALL OVER Ed for that mess. Guitars still sounded like freezdried ass after re-recording
@@bobfwoods Doesn't matter. Any live video of Sammy with VH he sounded just like this. Man is a vocal God
VH with this line up was Legit talent ....
Such a great album. Eddie was at top of his game. Sammy and Eddie was a powerhouse together.
Three decades later and this shit still rocks!!!!
hell ya it does
Fuk ya man! I was 16 years old when I bought this album, back in 1993--the 2-CD set, and I had found a little luxury in life.
I've NEVER identified, lyrically, with Van Halen. Too many songs about getting stoned, rich, and laid.
But the massive, high-energy atmosphere they created lights a spark in my feeble old mind to this day :) I can't believe these fuckers did this shit sometime in their 40s, but some people were born to kick ass :)
@@devilsoffspring5519 And Eddie was still shredding it at age 60!
Eddie Van Halen will still kick ass 200 years from now hahaha
5 years later and still stands.
I miss him so much!!! Nancy Wilson from Heart asked Eddie why he didn't play an acoustic. He said because he didn't have one. She gave him one. He wrote a song for her. True story.
You just watched the video after his passing ...1978 Texxas Jam Heart and VH played at the cotton bowl Aerosmith Head Lined ............... and Joe Perry Snubbed Edward due to fear ...............did you know that
Wow good story for MY HERO! Eddie was such a GOAT what a loss. My heart still breaks..
Nancy Hearts Guitar Gift To Eddie :
VERIFIED...

@@lisaevans1346 "GOAT" is overused and idiotic.
Sammy was 44 here. Crazy to think his voice was at a pinnacle when so many others faded much younger. Imo Sammy is the best rock vocalist of all time. He still sounds good in his 70s.
Sammy is amazing !!!!
Sammy and Graham Bonet are the best powerfull singer
Dave Coverdale and Sammy both pretty good
In my not-so-humble opinion, and Ted Templeman’s also, Sammy’s the best rock singer on the planet.
Right !! Sammy doesn't sound even that different than when he was belting out "You're rock candy baby..." with our other, super-talented Music friend who's no longer with us, Ronnie Montrose ♫
"On top of the world, for a long while" Hell yeah ! RIP King Eddie ....
Eddie is now on top of the world. Lets hope he still plays his guitar.
He is standing on top of the world now
YES BROTHER. YOU RITE KING EDDIE'S A LEDGENDS HERO NOW A LEDGEND THE BEST WE EVER HAD IN SO MANY WAYS
I'm 53 and have been a huge fan of Eddie since high school. He always has a smile on his face while performing. In My opinion was one of the greatest guitarists ever. I was stationed in southeast Asia back in the 1980's while in the military I can remember them playing Van Halen in the bars over there. Van Halen was popular all over the world.
I am right there with you! Saw Eddie with Dave 3 times and once with Sammy and these guys could bring it. I will play like Eddie Van Halen in my next life! LOL. Huge supporter in veterans so thank you for you service sir and keep rocking!!!
Eddie gave 100 every time! This is what he did because he loved it!
Michael Anthony is a groove monster. He's the backbone.
Best backing vocals in the business
@@Deetroiter For sure! The best! He's that special ingrediant that makes the Van Halen sound so unique.

The secret weapon!
I saw this concert live in Tampa and this is how they ended that show. 30 year's ago. This brings me back... everyone singing the song aloud. And for a moment everything in the World was alright. What a wonderful memory and moment.
There was no denying the fun these four had on the stage. Musically they were literally on top of the world, and at their peak. The best ten years of my life…
I was married in June of 1991. This is the "Our song" for my wife and myself. Still married, still listening to this!
There will never be another Van Halen or anything that even comes close!
This song should be standard song in psych wards. You literally can't listen to it and be DEPRESSED!!!!! ROCK ON! 👐👐👐
Amen Patti....
I agree
Every Van Halen song is uplifting
I TOTALLY agree!!
@@paulym9969 right Right right !
Just found out Eddie lost his battle with cancer. First Neil Peart and now Eddie Van Halen. The world has lost two of the greatest ever. RIP gentlemen.
I totally believe that also......Good call.
Neil Pert? Just a comically big drumkit, don't mean you're the best. Try Buddy Rich, from his standard drum set to how he holds his sticks. #goat
Those two were really starting to show some potential.
@@del7i540 you must be loads of fun at parties.
R.I.P. Eddie my friend. Thank God we have the videos to still watch.
Could watch VH for hours and never tire of them. Helps my depression. Gets the endorphins released
Except now all of the music channels play crap! MTV has almost zero music and should be renamed shit tv!
Amen
@@barbaravance6774 MTV and VH1 died in the late 90’s.
Does anybody else have a lump in their throat watching this or is it just me🎸🤘🏻
Touches you inside doesn't it?
He will always be King to me!🍻
It is not you, I miss the 80- 90s. No cell phones/tik tok/FB/ masks and social distancing and petty rules
Yes totally agree to the above. BTW I'm from Bedford England and this to a dear late friend of mine Tucker, I've just posted on Facebook. Love you mate 🎸
Total CHILLS 😍
The almighty Eddie van Halen is now in heaven, beyond the top of the world. indeed..
Legacy remains forever.
Thank you,
Got goosebumps listening to this. They definitely did and the world lost one if not The best guitarist of our time . Ugh.it really sucks - R.I.P. Eddie VanHalen. You will forever be the best Miss your playing already .
i think they were the best with Sammy
@@garydiffley7809 well weather your a diamond dave fan or Sammy. Losing Eddie was devastating to the music world and fans. The man was a genius on guitar without realizing it He worked hard played his way and messed around with sounds etc. he pioneered techniques and sooo many have tried to duplicate and replicate off his style. But their will only be one Eddie Van Halen. - and it truly sucks that that’s it. But he left his mark in a huge way. A legend is putting it mildly.
@@davegosselin9327 agree 100%
Sammy was the icing on the cake for this band . Unlike Dave when Sammy played live he never screwed around with the lyrics and delivered what we hear on the albums . With Sammy their music went from great to exceptional . Rip EVH immortal .
When Eddie brought Sammy into this group the were on top of the world. R.I.P. EDDIE
And when Eddie and Alex Fired Sammy and Mikey the group were on the bottom of the music world ...and stayed there
@@CP-kb1du that’s because Sammy was 10 x’s better than DLR....and after he got fired everyone was pissed
Damn righ! EVH grew up listening to Sammy; he was higy influenced by Montrose !🎸🤘🏼🍻
Unless you have ever been in a band or worked with them you will never know how hard it is for all those Ego's to mix 24 hours a day on the road. None of it's right it's just show biz RIP EVH
R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen - A TRUE ROCK ICON!
Forever my favorite band, I love them all!!!
We really didn't know how good we had it.
If you have any original Van Halen albums from early 1980's they worth a fortune.
You don't understand.
These 4 made the GREATEST LIVE BAND EVER.
Absolutely right!
van halen was in such a great place during this period. their music was rock solid. vocals were top notch and their writing had such depth. they seemed like such a tight mature band. such a shame it didn't last.
Egos and booze, it can be a bad mix. But you're right, it was such a shame. Probably the most talented band ever
Nothing lasts forever sadly.
can you imagine how much fun it must have been to be VH back then
Van Halen firing on all cylinders on this one!
And at WFO (Wide F***ing Open) throttle.
Umm....not really.
@@framodcole not f*ckn really? look here you kid. Hagar absolutely can sing. and the lost voice of van halen, Michael Anthony.
And in top gear!
Arie Adithya he probably likes crap music
This really was the pinnacle of Van Halen.
They really were on top of the world right here. Of course they were extremely popular in 1984 and such with Roth, but right here they sounded their best and were widely known everywhere.
No one has ever replicated that sound or the mastery required to pull off his style of guitar. Eddie was One of the last great players of the era and most gifted rock musicians of our time. Consider yourself blessed if you ever got to hear him perform live!
Alan Edward I did
Saw him 3 times!! Amazing 👏. RIP Eddie
I did, in Vancouver B.C. They were amazing. I was also fortunate enough to have attended their after party at the Sky Bar after the concert - back in 2004. Absolute blast. Concert seats 3 and 4, row 9, centre stage. The stars aligned. Grateful.
I grew up with Van Halen music. I keep his complete discography and is like diamonds for me. Rest in Peace Eddie. You deserve to be remember like you are. The 10 times winner of the best guitar of the year.
Kind regards from my country; Panamá.
RIP the absolute peak of their live sound.
I lived in the era of Eddie Van Halen. Greatest guitar virtuoso there'll ever be. RIP Eddie.
June 17th 2020 I woke up from an emergency 8 way bypass to the sounds of top of the world in my recovery room. The nursing staff said they ask me if there was any music that I wanted to hear and I said top of the world. It's crazy how a band can grasp you and never let go. I first saw Van Halen in 1978 and I was hooked for life.
One of the more underrated Van Halen songs.... IMO, the greatest American Hard Rock band of all time. Eddie will be missed. Sure wish he and Sammy could have mended fences and hand one last concert. Never forget to say I'm sorry to your friends. The ride we have here on this planet is short, even if it is a 100 year ride. No need to have hatred towards your brother while on this ride. Thank you God for giving us Eddie Van Halen!
I'll add another Amen to that bro. Well said. What a sad loss. Never hold back those words "I'm sorry"
Sammy said something that they made up early this year, they have been texting
Fuck you and fuck him!
Eddie's gift to the world. Pure sonic joy ! He is standing on top of the world - forever !
RIP to one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Eddie Van Halen
The greatest area of Van Halen. For me, this is the sound of my childhood, love it. Alex, Eddie, Sammy and Michael ❤
Me too ! Saw this tour in Sydney will never forget it
The hair on my arm stood up when I heard the crowd singing along. Good times. Those harmonies. Love it.
The only reunion tour I would pay to see. Best rock band I've seen in concert!
AMEN
Probably my favorite Van Halen song, if I had to pick one. Rock in peace Eddie 🤘
Man, they really were standin’ on top of the world back then. I miss this time, I wish so badly I could have seen this in person! RIP Eddie, you will forever be missed! 👑 🎸
This band with this exact members were the best combination of collaboration within it's legendary sound! R.I.P E.V.H .
Never ever will there be a band as Great as VanHalen.
I need a time machine to go back to the era of decent music, the 80's and early 90's.
It was just pure live music albeit great artist that liked to entertain!
Man, I gotta give the guy credit: he never missed a f-ing beat! Rock on, EVH!
Just one of those songs that makes you feel good no matter what's going on or how you are feeling
America will never know music like this again! Thank you Edward!
Rest in eternal peace EDDIE!!!!
Thank you for all of the amazing tracks that will live on for generations to come
I know they rose to the top with Dave but as far as I'm concerned Sammy was and will always be the voice of vanhalen.
Dave is just a gigalo
Two different GREAT live bands.
Playing this song and every other song from Van Halen brings a huge smile to my face because it's Van Halen no matter who was singing in it but it always put a smile and you know when Eddie's probably about to rip out of solo you know you're going to be happy because it's Van Halen from beginning to end
RIP Eddie. Your music always made me feel OTOTW!
when rock n' roll was legendary. The 80s had to be one of the absolute best, if not the best decades for rock music... glad to have been blessed to be a part of it. I wish we could go back to these days when people weren't spending time tearing each other down on social media.
Rest in peace Eddie. You are one of a kind .
That was one of the coolest endings in rock-n-roll history!
Back in 91 when we were all having fun, who ever thought there would be a year so bad as 2020

Phenomenal drum sound. The kick is THE kick.
This is a band at the height of their powers playing one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Thanks for the upload! \m/v\m/
I agree.. a very underrated Van Halen song. I cannot believe they didn't have more #1 songs.
Yes! And it's 3 years later! The world just isn't the same, sucks too. The mighty VH thank God for these concert videos, they were bad ass! ❤
RIP EVH..my music man forever...💔💕💖

Sammy is one of the best rock singers of all time, No Doubt !!
The Van Halen Brothers, egos got in the way ! Sad !
Not Al's, just Ed's.
I was at this show both nights, 5150 Live without a net,in New Haven CT and VH1 was taping this very video you are now watching! All of them, lol! 5150 for ever 🎸❤️🔥🥁🎤🎶😏🫦!
Saw them 3 nights in a row for this tour in jersey…amazing every damn night !! Sad that we will never see it again ..
Damn.....that's the way to rock !!! That closing of a concert would send you home with your heart pounding!!!
And it did..
I saw the Van Hagar version 3 times. They never disappointed.
Eddie Van Halen Always Loved, Never Forgotten, Forever missed.
This was filmed at Selland Arena in Fresno CA. I was there. Had seats to the right of the stage. One of the best concerts I ever went to.
Edward Van Halen was truly The KING! Look how comfortable he is on stage. Flawless. Rest in Peace G.O.A.T 💔
Man, this was some of the best music ever.
Back When The Rock Gods Were happy!!!
Right now there pissed off and I don't blame them

❤ Will always love them. It’s hard when your favorite bands are no longer. Everybody from Van Halen to AC/DC for example. So many times because of death. I’m 60 years old, and I will always cherish the memories of bands that are no longer especially due to death. All we have are memories in our heads before cell phones to record. I’m thankful for CZcams for being able to watch videos before that time whether they are good quality video or not. It’s heart wrenching to watch these videos that we were so fortunate to be able to see in person, and now, so many are no longer among us.
Yes. After all those years, I can't believe Van Halen is no more. I knew Eddie had been in ill health, but it was still a surprise to hear that he had died. RIP Eddie. 😢
The power of those 4 men was incredible!
The one the only Eddie Van Halen,
R. I. P. you are allready missed sooo much! 🙏😥🤘🎸
absolute pure joy, that is what VH has given me all these years.....

Eddie just an incredible guitarist. Man. He is missed!
That was one of the most intense performances I've ever seen and heard.
So awesome Van Halen performed this for the people of Canada. Hopefully it will inspire them to become winners some day
Ain’t happening. They will always be #2
I just loved VanHagar! They were awesome!
Anthony Hawk same here. I personally prefer my California boy Sammy Hagar over diamond Dave. Most of my friends preferred David Lee Roth over Sammy. I will admit there is a few songs that I like with David Lee Roth. But, I love all of the Sammy Hagar songs with van Halen.
There would have been No Van Halen ,without Eddie Van Halen !!!❤ RIP
EDWARD VAN HALEN 😍 THE GOAT !!!❤
I would give anything to have seen them on this tour!
