I don't use MX browns, myself, but I use GX brown in a G512 Carbon, and they are basically just like MX brown. Scratchy linears.

This makes me feel much better about my Cherry MX Browns.
Also, not knowing what "scratchy" or "grainy" means in the context of a keyboard. I think this what people who are fine with pack-in earbuds must feel like. Ignorance really IS bliss.
Hey bud, don't worry too much about all the memes on MX Sand. I own over 20 keyboards, including an IBM Model F and a board with Holy Pandas, which many consider the ultimate tactile switch; yet my favorite keyboard and daily driver is a Filco Majestouch 3 with MX Browns.
We memes on MX Browns because we love it. For many of us it was the entrypoint into the hobby, but many find a switch more to their preference. Personally it's my 2nd favorite switch after Topre; but Topre boards are hideous and I do like some aesthetic quality, so MX Browns will do. :)
I have never commented on a CZcams video before, but this just takes the cake. While it is generally accepted that vulgarity is a subpar rhetorical method, your contributions to the lexicon of obscenities here made me laugh so hard I have watched it five times already.

That Mx-Brown had me laughing. But I personally do not care how awful 1-3 are. Cherry MY are the bane of my existence. When you try getting any vintage boards in germany, you’re nearly only gonna find cherry boards. And when you realise that 90% of them are using MY switches you just give up.
I found a batch of 34 Cherry MY boards (all G80-8000s, like in this video; this one was the best one in the batch) once. Took them all home. Salvaged the caps (infilled POM!), kept this one, and brought everything else back. Holy fuckballs, what a cluster bomb of awfulness.

I thought MX silent were supposed to be good. I just got my first mechanical (Redragon Yama with Outemu purple) and they are kinda loud for me (though im slowly getting accustomed), but as i built the rest of my pc to be silent, it seems like a waste to not have a silent keyboard. So do you have any silent keyboard or switches to recommend ? Maybe ones with a shorter travel distance.
I got this one as it has a volume wheel and i feel that should be something mandatory in every keyboard. Also, programmable rgb would be fine (i like individual keys to light when pressed).
The worse thing about it is that after a week of it, the keyboard at work ive been using for years without problem started feeling bad.

Do you have an opinion on the outemu purple? its the first and only mechanical ive used so im not sure how it compares to others (also in my country there arent stores to test switches).
@@aklimaron7398 Outemu Ice V2 Purple isn't too bad from what I've heard. Zilents may be a good choice, or Healios if you want a linear switch. I know I'm not Chyros, but this is what I've heard.

I had two externally identical Chicony KB-5161 keyboards, one had Blue Alps and the later one had Mitsumi Miniature. Talk about heaven and hell! The Mitsumi board is very worn and feels like it is full of sand.

This is the first video I've seen from this channel and I have to say, your videos are excellent! The narration is superb, the camera shots are amazing and detailed and I like the fact that you are not afraid of voicing your opinions.
You didn't even try to push a single button on the smith-corona! It seems almost impossible to me that it can be even worse than the "clicky" cherry MY at 8:34 or mitsumi when pressed even slightly off center, or even to what you refer as "solid state switches" (futaba ML)!

Suggestion: maybe a list of best/worst switches that are currently in production/available? Maybe also allow for modded switches in that list. I absolutely enjoy videos about vintage stuff, but would be nice to also hear thoughts about modern alternatives.
Well Mr Ran what can i say.......this was totally fucking awesome i nearly broke 3 ribs laughing. When it comes to imaginative insults you stand a God amongst men. Right from the get go this was just one brilliantly funny moment after another and i suppose to keep the nerds happy it was informative lol. If you think i'm starting to sound like a bit of a fan boy then you'd be right, you're the main reason after over 30 yrs of computer use i started to take a real interest in keyboards your passionate, entertaining and often very funny ,oh not to mention very informative (gotta keep the nerds happy)videos have kept me enthralled for months and i now wait impatiently for each new adventure into keyboard land .Of course underlying this is the fact that you are incredibly knowledgeable about your obviously obsessive hobby a fact the members of the keyboard community i'm sure would not dispute .If i've said this before ignore it i'm old and starting to ramble i've watched your videos on more than one occasion and can never remember if i've commented or not ,you'd think i'd have the sense to check ha ha.

@@expendableround6186 check out some videos on different cherry switch types. Reds and Browns are more on the quiet side and usually recommended for first time mechanical keyboard buyers, especially reds.
