Technically it was Takano... how surprising, considering Hanyuu hates Takano for always saying she's a god who enjoys the suffering of others. Takano was the one who gave Rena the book (or whatever it was, it's been a while since I've seen the manga or visual novel) that had the stuff in it.
I tried to search more about Hanyuu's past some weeks ago and yeah, she really lived a long painful life, her true character is so underrated and it makes me sad how weak she was against EUA in Sotsu.
I think she needed more screentime in the Animes, I mean, people who only know her from the Animes probably just knows why she's a god but anything else. Unlike the rest of the cast, Hanyuu seems like the only one who doesn't show her past to make us feel empathy for her, instead, she's the god we all through it was evil but turned out to be cute, clumsy and shy..
There's always the manga adaptation to look forward to
It really hurts to see her so underpowered again in Gou/Sotsu
i mean, considering the implication of what eua really is, its understandable she's hardly a match for her... but i agree, she really was done a disservice.
Well we have to consider that she wasn't on the human world anymore and that the sea of fragments has different rules since it's outside the real world and time doesn't exist there. Also since it's implied that Hanyuu could been Eua's avatar, vessel or piece inside Higurashi, so it makes sense why Eua was way more powerfull than her. It's like Beatrice compared to Lamdadelta, althought Beatrice is a really powerfull beign Lamdadelta is on a higher plane and level since Beatrice was patronized by her.
She is a "failed" piece of FEATHERINE, Eua is 2.0 piece of FEATHERINE. Hanyuu is THE CREATOR's Miracle, Eua is THE CREATOR's Certainity. Hanyuu makes BERNKASTEL, Eua makes LAMBDADELTA.

Compare Hanyuu to Eua is like compare Beatrice to Featherine. Eua is even in the higher plane of existence than Hanyuu, Hanyuu can only beat a mere human Takano after 100 years...
She’s been my favorite character since I was a kid. Gou/Sotsu did her dirty 😔

Yeah honestly where to begin...
well first off thank you for making this video honestly liked Hanyuu as a character general although as her title of God she's mysterious in her own rights. But kinda knew her at the same time don't and now with this video at least puts some closure to her. Although I'm kinda salty that she was heavily nerfed on Gou/Sotsu (especially playing Higurashi Daybreak (yes it's solid game to play with friends definitely recommended) with her having God's world [time stopping powers] and Oyashiro-beam [self explanatory i guess] and her wielding the sword with an improved oyashiro-beam])
and kinda glad that her first "form" or what she looked liked prior the horn cracking was "revealed"/shown. And the manga ofc addressing her Horns because if I remember correctly no one mentions her having horns one way or another in the anime (Higurashi Kai) so I just kinda assume that it was invisible to the everyone except for us the audience and Rika herself or people just being oblivious/respectful. But now its not really the case except that they didn't have time or maybe the budget to sprinkle it in lelz.
And as for the name regarding Hanyuu idk which should I believe because either one is good in it's own rights xD. What I mean is from what I heard she was named Hanyuu because the dude who met her miss heard her and named her Hanyuu. But this one makes more sense because well aliens. And honestly it makes more sense than demons although not saying its isn't real it's more like there's more than meets the eye type of deal. Plus ofc on some religions Gods are like somewhat mentioned to be aliens in one way or another so either way it's acceptable and kinda loving the back story of her people.
Honestly my thoughts are a bit of a mess but yeah all I can say keep up the Higurashi content kinda glad I've found your channel because this series will hold a special place in my heart lelz.
