First off thanks for all your hack video's on Levergym. Second I love how you answer everyone. I bought a Levergym for my house in Mexico (per all your video's) as no descent places to workout near where I winter. It's a great piece and I love most of the attachments that came with it. The FLY attachment didn't work out for me and the leg press is a monster to take on and off (but I really use it). I have went to Blood flow restriction in winter which allows me to use much less weights. I continue to make gains with my home gym and blood flow restriction in the winter months.

Thanks so much! I am really glad to hear you are happy with the Levergym.
Have you tried using a clothespin to retract the knob on the FID Bench when you take the attachments in and out? That will make getting the Leg Press in and out a little easier…but it’s still pretty heavy.
The Pec Fly seems to divide the most people. I hear people, especially people with shoulder issues, say how much they love it…and now with my shoulder giving me a little trouble, I have gained a new appreciation for it.
I really appreciate your message. Thank you!

I couldn’t agree more. The Powertec Workbench Levergym would be my number one as well. I would have that and a Total Gym as my go to equipments. The reason for those two piece of equipment is I’m older (I’m in my 60s) I have some joint & spine issues that I really need to be careful. I had the Powertec leg press attachment that I didn’t find all that effective and purchased their leg press machine that works great.
The Total Gym would be my cardio/superset component when using the Powertec levergym for a full body workout.

After I have watched some of your videos I fiinaly pulled the trigger and I bought the Levergym LS 20. After one training I can honestly say that this is the best investment I have made. The build quality is surprisingly good, I would say 10/10 for the levergym and 8/10 for the bench. I also have a lot of free weights in my home but as I don't have a spotter I was never able to train with the maximum weight I could lift, except for the squads and deadlifts reason why my upper body is a bit underdeveloped compared to lower part. I know there are people who are perfectly capable of training alone with free weights but I am not one of them, I waste way too much energy to bring the weights into position, stabilise the movement and keep some energy to be able to put the weights back after last rep.

I have an older powertec bought used $500 with all its attachments accessories. Leg press, bicep curl, tricep push down, pec fly, leg extension
I wanted a newer one but couldn't afford it. Then found other leverage gyms way cheaper , and just kept the powertec bench portion and accessories .
Amazon has leverage gyms from gmwd $800, spart $650, body solid $900 . They're independent arms, multiple angled adjustments, and exercise band attachments

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  Před 8 měsíci

You got a really good deal on your original Powertec pieces.
The knockoffs are less expensive, but the Powertec still has better features. I haven’t seen any knockoffs with 15 lever arm settings and there are advantages to the bench locking in the Levergym. For example, when the bench locks into the Levergym, it provides stability to heavy leg extensions so the bench doesn’t come off the ground. Also, when bands are attached, if the bench isn’t locked into the Levergym, the knock-off leverage gyms can flip over.
Additionally, for years, I used my red bench with the Levergym, but the Powertec bench is better for many chest and shoulder exercises because it slides horizontally and allows for the perfect settings which wasn’t possible with my red bench.

I would like to eventually purchase one or find a multifunctional machine that provides a safe and effective option for performing vertical leg presses. I think the LG is more versatile and I prefer the ability to detach the bench which can’t be done on the MS. The LG takes up less space, it’s less expensive, and I like cable pulldowns better than the Pulldown on the MS. However, the pressing station is going to be slightly better on the MS because it’s like the Multipress (which I have a newer review for).

Weird question. You ever feel annoyed to remember the set up of all these exercises? What these machines can do is super versatile but also a bit complicated.

Not at all. I number all of the settings (if they aren’t already labeled) and write them in my log book. When it’s time to repeat an exercise, I just refer to the log book and it takes seconds to make the adjustments.

I subscribed and like your content.
Still, I need to mention the intro point on 0:19.
It looks like you are throwing your carton boxes of the gym equipment into the woods.
It looks like you just brought your favourite equipment and your are so eager to try it ,that once you assembled it, you just throw garbage in nature without caring.
I know it sounds silly, but I think it gives the wrong impression.

Thanks so much! I know it’s a bit odd. That scene was from my Powertec FID Bench Review. I was joking that is my hack to get rid of all the extra boxes I accumulate from doing equipment reviews. For people who are new to the channel, I’m sure it looks like I’m knocking Powertec. Appreciate your perspective. I may end up removing that segment from my intro to remove any confusion.
