We don't need to tear apart a historical statue to sell off the crude chunks of it.

Just that. His world was one where higher ideals are meant to be upheld. Duty, honour, not giving in to dark urges. None of the characters go out of their way to find orcs and kill them. Their fights with such beings are always defensive. The closest we get is when the combined army under Aragorn march to the Black Gates but even then they wait for the gates to open while still standing in their own land and it is Sauron's forces who rush out to attack.
Faramir is a throwback to the Dunedain, one of those who swore friendship to the elves of Beleriand and who created the civilisation of Numenor before Sauron corrupted it. It was one of the things that the movies failed in, showing Faramir as weak against the ring. It was only the appearance of the winged nazgul that prevented him from seizing the ring for himself.
Such grand ideals are near alien to modern audiences where the vigilante reigns supreme and violence is always the answer.

What lore ? Name a story in The Silmarillion for me, I’ll wait.
Not on the side of Hollywood, trust me, but as an _actual_ huge Tolkien fan, all the constant dickriding makes me a little nauseous. His other books are boring, straight up. The Hobbit was pretty boring and it was adapted into boring movies. The Silmarillion is almost as boring as it is hard to follow. It does an amazing job of fleshing out the world of Middle Earth, and it’s not a ‘bad’ book by any means, but it’s boring. The story of the Fellowship is one of the greatest stories of all time, that’s why it’s so beloved. We don’t need an ‘extended Tolkien universe’, because it wouldn’t be Tolkien, he didn’t write anything else worth adapting to the big screen.
So, please don’t call yourself a part of the ‘Tolkien fandom’ if you just mean you enjoyed the movies and don’t know a singular thing about the books. Call yourself a part of the ‘Lord of the Rings fandom’ if anything. Am I gatekeeping ? Nah, not really, because I don’t personally classify myself as part of the ‘Tolkien fandom’ because it’s already completely made up of ignorant culture warriors who, while on my side politically, don’t actually know anything about J.R.R. Tolkien. They just like the LotR movies and wanna act like they’re the authority on the lore because the crazy Leftists are race and gender swapping, and they hear from their favorite CZcamsrs that it’s ‘against the lore !1!1!1!’ It’s akin to seeing the cringy ‘LIBTARD gets owned by facts and logic’ and it makes me not want to associate with people who otherwise agree with me.

Tolkien fans like myself won't watch rings of power regardless of what they do. Their abomination of the second age cant be undone. The Lord of the Rings movies left out a great deal anyway, I mean Jackson did very well given the constraits he had in terms of time and money but even his movies are lacking in many areas. He did get the overall theme and what he did produce was true to Tolkien in spirit. The problem with doing any of Tolkiens work is you cant skimp on any of the detail its important. I will give you an example: In the movies Arwen comes to Argorn and the hobbits after amon sul, in fact its Glorfindel who battles some nazgul at the last bridge and then finds the party and leads them as far as he can into the trollshaws when the nazgul attack again. He then commands his horse asfoloth to bring Frodo to rivendell as he stays and fights off the Nazgul. So the point here is Jackson, captures the spirit of the event with Arwen but even he takes a lot of license. What Amazon has done has discarded even the spirit of middle earth completely. Just look at the portrayal of Elrond, its ridiculous. Anyway, Im done ranting, lol.

Excellent suggestion, put out a remastered, extended - extended cut, with bonus extra director's cut and including the cinematic original release and remastered cinematic original release, both with and without commentary, the making of and extensive collections of all the cast and crew and special effects crew right down to the stable hands who worked the horses and trained the actors etc. talking everything LoTR with merch, merch and more merch. Also, this done in multiple media from DVD, to blue ray to bloody laser discs.
And do a full re-release cycle in cinemas at the same time as the original Harry Potter movies, remember when they used to say there was only one block buster per year? well LoTR and HP stopped that BS.
Yes, this is the "take the free money just lying there on the table begging to be picked up" shot.
The audience actively does not want "remake the movies to suit modern times" that is what the audience, aggressively, belligerently, does not want , let alone want to pay for.
Their option (singular) for bringing new stories to film is option two, make movies from the VAST amount of material from the Silmarillion and other accepted works. And do it in the timeless way, honouring the lore, there are lifetimes worth of stories there to be told in movie form.
Make cinematic Shakespeare (whose works are still inspiring people 400 years on) "though this would require a great deal of skill and care" they define themselves, "though" confession much?

Everyone says Silmarillion would be difficult to make as a film, and yes, especially the Ainulindalë, but you could do an awesome trilogy with Beren and Luthien leading up to the War of Wrath. You could have a quick exposition to cover the creation. Jump into Beren and Luthien's story for the first movie and a half, then the second half of the second movie would setup War of Wrath with the final being the fight against Ancalagon. If you wanted more detail, you could split it up into 3 trilogies. First being the flight of the Noldor, second being Beren and Luthien, then the final being War of Wrath. I would pay good money to see that done right, of course we'll have to wait for this wave of woke-ness to pass.

The Ainulindale in the book is from the Elves' perspective, it wasn't the actual Ainulindale. It would be great for the fandom to have the beginnings of the Tolkien realm in 4 or 5 movies. But needs to be totally and strictly to Tolkien Lore, so no misconceptions arise there i.e. Black High Elves, White privileged Orcs and gender changing empowered WOKE characters that don't exist in Tolkien's World.
