If your not going to include the marketboard because of people on free trial, you can't send on ventures either, but it's a nice showing of ways that don't depend on the market.
Yeah I completely forgot about that part lol.
You hit the marketboard for the maps too, don't think you made a point about the 3 day gathering limit on them or where to find the good ones? Perhaps "gather maps here, run them solo as blu instead of group" as a video?
I believe I did a video on blue mage solo map run already.
Great video! The only thing I would offer is that for leves, if the best thing I've found to use is the Tincture of Vitality turn-ins. You get nearly the same reward as the EW levequests, but you can quick craft them with Trained Eye. Factoring in the actual craft time, it's a way better return on your time spent. Better gil per hour than EW by far. Keep up the great work, Zane!
👍
I do this with Dawrven Lignum Canes. I have a miner retainer and a battle retainer, which get me all the raw materials except lignum vitae logs, which I grab anytime I visit the dwarves in lakeland. Then quick synth everything and mass produce the finished product with trained eye.
Hey does this mean I can quick synthesis these tinctures? How do I use Trained Eye with quick synthesis?
@@Akilies12 Unfortunately not. Quick synth would result in most of your crafts being normal quality which greatly reduces your payout. It does mean you can have a two step macro which takes substantially less time than the current content alternatives which typically have about 7 or 8 steps.
Thanks for all your hard work and nice content, Zane.
Your welcome and thanks.
Great Recap on daily gil grind! Personally, for Endwalker levequests I do the culinarion Tsai Tou Vounou and use my gathering retainers to get the items. It's about 10k per turn in of high-quality. Just my preferred one. (edit: forgot about this being for trial only and no marketboard) Perfect as it is.
Amazing video and very educational, I will put it to practice! thanks a bunch for your hard work!
Thank you appreciate it.
Great guide thank you. Just to add, doing the challenge log will pay around 100k weekly. As someone who was
on trial for a year, this was why I was maxing out my 300k limit every week.
Yeah I deleted that part of the video to shorten it. Kinda wish I left it in.
I started playing like a month ago and im around level 70 about to finish stormblood. nearly shit myself when i saw how much gil you're retainer is holding LMAO. thanks for all the tips I understand things a lot better now : )
Your welcome
as we saw from the submarine madness, raw gil is the real way to go in this game most of the time for a steady income so i'm glad you addressed that here as well! maybe one day i'll bother with grinding subs but a combination of these methods + some lucky island sanctuary box / unreal sells i've been doing fine lol
I saw you in Mr Happy's q&a video lol. I'm like I know that name lol.
Just to help controller players for the leve quest turn ins way. I usually go to character config - control settings - filters and just uncheck all the ones for while weapon is sheathed except for NPCs/Objects. goes way faster and don't have to scroll between all the people there :)
Thanks for that
@@ZaneLionhartffxiv Happy to help!
On ps5 i just press x while looking twords the npc i need
If you have the doman enclave you can save the money pouches for your enclave too!
I also buy clear demimateria that people undersell and resell to doman. Keeps my from having to pay attention to hanging onto various items and matching up to 40k(20k) worth.

For the vault method I have a different way to go about it that won’t have your armor destroyed and have the cost of repairs eat away at what you want to earn.
Pre Pull/Pre Dungeon: Mighty Guard and DPS Mimicry.
Dungeon: Basic Instinct,
J-kick the Vault Ostiary, Rams Voice, Nightbloom + Being Mortal + Eruption,
Move to next group
Vibe Check second group, move to third group
Run to the Vault Deacon and cast Rams Voice, Phantom Flurry them down, Glass Dance on the off chance the Deacon lives,
run to last pack
Rams voice, target the Ostiary, Surpanakha x4, Shock Strike, Sea Shanty, and Eruption + Mind Blast if needed.
It’s slower but it gets it all 100 instances done within 2 hours
Yeah at this point a few extra seconds wouldn't hurt If it means saving repair costs.
Moisture warped lockboxes drop the 10k pouches more often, so it's worth it to go out of your way for them. ~450k for a dedicated grind at night
Yeah I tried doing that and had no luck.
@ZaneLionhartffxiv It's super easy. The void voivres just north of PW transform at night. Get 2 tanks at left and right to bring em all towards mid, and have dps blast away after they mutate
It's just a small nitpick, but free trial player can't have retainers at all iirc. It's been I while since I was on trial, so that may have changed, but I think anything to do with rerainers will be unavailable to trial players.
Good guide, all things considered. Lots of stuff in here more people should know about. Your grand company squadron is one of the most underutilized parts of the game imo. The passive gains from it are great and well worth the time: scrips, gil, mgp and the buff manuals (even if you have an fc you can use manuals for buffs when not on your home world). Plus, there's a glamor dresser in there. Kill 2 birds with one stone instead of visiting inn rooms all the time.
Your right retainers use the mb damn. Well the gil was small from them anyway so no big deal.
At the time, the players also wouldn't have stormblood expansion or above either. There was rumors that it was being added to the free trial but that hasnt been implemented at the time of posting. The level cap is still 60, and with the addition goes to 70.
I love you man
Appreciate the sentiment.
I was trying to follow along with the closed captions as I couldn’t listen to the video at the time, so you may have addressed this. You said this is free trial friendly, but free trial players can’t access EW levequests. For those players, is there an easy Stormblood leve you recommend doing?
I will look when I login.
Blacksmith "ingot to wing it"
Alchemist "making your mark"
Culinary"fits to a tea"
Those are my recommendations
I've noticed you can also get MGP from squadrons, both through tickets and straight MGP. Useful for grinding gold saucer!
Yes you can, but with the moogle event coming you can get everything you need from the tickets they offer.
you can get exp buff/ food buff/ mgp buff/ higher seal rate buff /gather-craft buffs! i belive also sometimes dirrect grandcompany teleports
You can also have your retainers sell the items at the same rate as other npcs.
True but I needed to show off the enclave cause I never mentioned it before.
I don't know if that's possible to do for players with a controller, but who uses mouse and keyboard can click directly on the little carrot in the duty list to get the direction in Eureka, without the need of constantly opening their inventory!
Controller uses the the touch pad to click on the carrot but has to cycle through the menus.
When I do eureka I put it on my hotbar so it's easy to click. I play on console with controller.
You can? Good to know from now on.
I do that with my aether compass when I'm looking for currents
Ok. I need to research how to unlock all of this stuff. I’m in shadowbringers but I don’t know where most of these places are and my grand company level is too low
X 9.4 Y12.5 in rhalgrs reach is the quest for eureka. Doman enclave use the boat in yanxia x11.4 y32.2 if you didn't attune to the crystal for the restoration. And I have a video taking you through the ranks for captain rank.
There is a cap on how much gil you can cqrry, i forget exactly how much it is but its under one million gil.
All you need is 300k-500k to purchase health potions/gear & each dungeon gives you money for completing it.
I have earned i believe up to 3k in one dungeon.
Also, I highly recommend crafting/gathering since disciples of the hand classes allows you to repair your gear beyond 100%
For those that dont know, you can farm grade 1-9 dark matter to repair your gear but i just buy it from the dye merchant you can find in each big city.
Also, another thing that will help you save money is spending tomestones of poetics you get from specific dungeons that will tell you how much you get for completing the dungeon, it says so on the dungeon picture screen in the corner when you access duty finder for doing dungeons.
One of my favorite things to do is to go in & help new people complete aurum vale & sastasha & ampdapor keep as well as great gubal library on my paladin or summoner & ocassionally on my white mage.
I main my paladin & summoner, white mage presents challenges at later levels if you arent paying attention to the status of your parties health & I don't care if it makes me weird but i like keeping my entire team alive.
Just remember, the tank is important for keeping your healer alive, the healer is important for keeping the whole party alive & the dps role is important for making sure the dungeon doesnt take forever.
As a dps yoyr respobsibility is to just stay alive & do damage, you are expendable in boss fights unless its extremes or ultimates.
One way to make money in this game is to just do quests & to save up, only purchase what you need to or if you can spare the cash.
Also when you reach level 50 botanist/miner, in mor dhona, you will want to farm crystal clusters before dawntrail comes out.
To make the daunting task easier, use truth of forests if its 1, 5 & 9 am eorzean time for botanist when you farm the crystal clusters & the same except equip miner & its 1, 5 & 9 pm eorzean time in mor dhona with truth of mountains active & you must be level 50 to have access to that skill.
This is mostly directed at newer players who may need an extra bit of advice.
Also, you can set a timer in the game that lets you know exactly when to farm crystal clusters such as the water crystal cluster south of horizon in thanalan seperately from the ones in mor dhona if you active truth of mountains with your miner class equipped at 5 am eorzean time.
To set timers, you need to access the crafting material finder menu, on pc you press the lettet b to open it up, i dont know how to do it on the console but its the menu you open up to type in an items name & it gives you a list of the otems, where to find them & if its timed, what ingame time it spawns & where in the game to find it.
If you are a subscriber to ff xiv, i recommend taking mats you get from farming using miner & botanist which are disciples of land classes & sell them on the market board.
I will end this comment by stating that if you are patient & find what works for you, you can easily obtain 2 million by selling what people like to buy such as high quality natron made from using the alchemist class in the crafting menu.
I went from having 300k to 2.1 million that i spend on crystal clusters & equipment upgrades as well as potions to make my experience better.
Not so much a money maker, but a money saver. (but all small bits add up)
Weekly ARR mark and/or Blue mage arena for allied seals.
The goal for which if you have everything else you want to spend them on, is to get aetheryte tickets.
Those two methods combined net enough allied seals to get 130 tickets per week.
And good luck spending them all. i'm even waving sub 100gil TP fees and not getting through these things.
coffee biscuit maddness again xD
😂
I have never even seen bonus gil as an option for any of my squadron, so F to that.
Yeah it takes a lot of time to get them.
The "useless" item you got is commonly requested by your GC "provisioning missions" . So translates to GC seals which can be used in a lot of ways. Far too many to list here but ventures, needed by the retainers is one possibility. Just saying, they are not useless.
Meant to say useless to me. I just do my expert delivery.
@@ZaneLionhartffxiv Excellent video though, when I commented I had not watched the whole thing and you explain GC seals. I'm switching GCs to get the achievements and turning in items like that is needed. could be why I jumped on it :P Also there are so many actual useless fish in the sea!
Only race I can’t get is the cat people any advice on which challenges got you one
You mean rothgar?
I just play the market by buying from other worlds and reselling on mine... Bought a bunch of full stacks of something for 2k on another world, been selling them for over 3k on mine. Broke even with them so far and still have 5 stacks left that would be pure profit
That's a very in depth recap on how to get a lot of gil per day, but doesn't make sense to emphasize free trial players not using the market board because free trial players have a gil cap of 300k gil and they usually stuggle to not have their gil capped
Or as I like to call it
THE RETURN OF TALES OF THE BOARDLESS
The most important ones I left out tribe quests daily hunts challenge log.
@@ZaneLionhartffxiv and yet...you found a way to do the Vault faster...curses...I have been foiled lol
Yeah I'm like omg this works so much better lol.
hey! was a fresh free trial player and just wanted to give you a heads up - as of april 2024, i dont think free trial players can get retainers! at least i wasnt able to - this is a great guide though!
Yeah they can't use the market board.
Show us your retainer purchase history lol : 3
Lol
Diversify your squadron? Sorry I that’s a no go for me. Potato supremacy! I don’t want to re-level everything again.
Lol. Well good luck on getting good chemistry.
I thought that trial players didn't have access to retainers.
I forgot they don't, but it's not a big deal since the gil was miniscule.
@@ZaneLionhartffxiv although it would be difficult and time consuming, could you make a gil grind guide for each expansion's limitations for both trial players and non trial players with each video centered on the best methods of that expansion?
Free Trial would be up to stormblood until shb is added. But I think I could try to do something like that.
@@ZaneLionhartffxiv storm blood was the newest added, heavensword was the previous cap.
Omg I jumped the gun on the comment of using your gil pouches and just seen this was literally in the video I’m so sorry hahaha
Your good don't worry lol.
Dont waste money on extra retainers .. 90% what they bring is non tradable, 9% worth MAYBE 5gil and 1% worth more then 20k
The gear they bring back from dungeons are helpful in getting grand company seals and venture coffers that can give jet black pure white dyes that goes for half a million. As well as gathering materials while you play the game. They are extremely helpful so paying two extra dollars a month wouldn't hurt.
