when I was a small kid, i stumbled across an old zippo, under the bed of a cheap seaside hotel. I really loved it, it was worn down with some brass showing, the top had a dent in it, and it had an american eagle and flag engraved. Even after a decade or so i still vividly remember it, it had character. Seeing your videos makes me want another one, since now I realized I miss my old lighter, and also made me realized that I had a pretty old one too, since it had dots on the bottom. Miss u zippo!
I am a huge fan of you and your collection. You really saw the awesomeness of having zippo. Watching you i am going to get a 18k solid gold zippo tomorrow from the savings i saved to buy myself a car. peace :-).
I know I have not forgotton, I just had other videos to make 1st, I go in order from what people request and when...I have a few more to upload, but yours is next to film...
@kavieres you will find I no longer have most of the stuff in this video, it was traded for a william henry knife then the knifew was traded for a 357 magnum....then traded again for a glock 36 45acp...
yes I have a few in my zippo lookalike colection, lol they even have simuilar packaging, they obviosuly mimick the zippo brand but they are probably the best lighter next to a zippo for this design...
P.S. Totally cool Zippo case. I'm not so much into Zippos, but your enthusiasm makes it very interesting. (I *do* have an NRA Zippo that I bought about 20 years ago.) Your collection will be nice to pass down to a family member someday.
Thanks man! I have a bunch of gear to rteview in upcomming days, but I do have an insert for a Zippo that you might like alot! Keep an eye out for that!
I bought that one at full list price of like $25 directly from Zippo...I went to the zippo/case visitors center in Bradford once for vacation and they have w big store there, where I got this one as well as otjers, I dotn see that one though anymore, must have been a small run of them, but I love the heavy texture it has, I no longer have it though, I had traded most of ym collection for a knife..
I see them pop up from tiem to time, but not too often...Average price for one will be @ $10 plus shipping...But beign that they are collectible now they might fetch a bit more...
Hi Jeff, I bought my first zippo the other day at a mini mart and absolutely love it, love the look and the authenticity of it. I want to buy more and see that I can buy them on sites such as amazon for cheap. I watched your videos on counterfeits but it is hard to tell with a limited amount of pictures. Are there any tips on who I should buy from or what exactly I should look for? I cant see the bottoms so anything on hinges?
Yes, many collector try to stick with a theme (even though I do not, lol) for example, some people just try to only colect beer advertisement Zippos, or others only collect vintage Zippos, some like to only collect Chrme finished Zippos, and so forth...Some only collect Zippos from their birth year, lol...Just have fun with it!!!!
@zachchristiansen this entire collection is onyl worth about $600, and was accumilated over 7-7 years, most of it was traded after this video for a $700 knife then traded for a gun
yes, he has a vid on it. but by moving the wick toward or away from the wheel, will adjust the size of the flame. recommend using a tool other than your finger though
I guess your talking about a butane lighter where you use butane fuel...to fill any butane lighter turn the lighter upside down, and you want to push down and hgold the bottle in towards the lighter until you do not hear it fillign anymore...instead of pumping it you just keep preassure down until its filled...you will know when its filled up by it being heavier if you can figure it out by hearing it...
Yes your right the pot leaf ones are not genuyine but way back in the 70's Zipo had one model with a pot leaf on it VERY rare, they mad eit thinkign it was justa design but after realizing what it was stopped makign them...VERY hard to find and woudl fetch alot of money, haha...
Yeah, lighter fluid will evaporate in a zippo because its not air tight, so if you sue it it will run out, even if you don't...If you dotn use it too often you cna use a piece of rubber tubing like from a inner bike tube to seal off where the lid meets the bottom so the fuel won't evaporate on you, but its a pan to get on and off...thats only a good trick if your storing a filled zippo for a while...
@grantodamax haha just a vintage insert aking up the spot until a zipo can take its palce is all...but most fo this collectiion has been traded for a knife then traded again for a gun...
The 1941 replica with the devils head is actually a 1937 replica. The 1941 has a 4 barrel hinge and 14 holes in the chimney and a see through rivet holding the flint wheel in place. The 1937 replica was actually a poor attempt by zippo at replicating the 1937, as I owned an original and compared them. A tru 1937s top is actually slightly rounded where the replica is an un stamped bottom cut to fit as a lid. I've been collecting and appraising for over 25 years. Nice to find a fellow collector!!
Very cool collection. I actually would like to start a zippo collection too. I also do not smoke either, its just something about them zippo's. I actually like pocket knives too. The best one I have is a Gerber air ranger.
No problem at all...Any lighter fluid will work in a genuine Zippo, guys in the army use to dunk their Zippos in the gas tanks on their vehicles, lol, a Zippo will work on many different fuels, but some will work better and be safer than others, but all ligher fluid will wrk fine...And yes I know a bit about butane lighters as well, what do you want to know? Send me a message I wil try to help answer your question...
hey is there any other liquids u can use as lighter fluid cause i just got a star lighter (is practically the same thing cause all the zippos are expensive here in australia) and yeah it did not come with fluid and im home and i wanna do some tricks but i have no fluid can u help me out
At 6:47, does the black and silver scrolled one have any name brands on it? I'm looking at one just like it on ebay, and I'd rather not buy one with "Marlboro" or something written anywhere on it.
hey i have a question, in the 5th row 4th column, does that generic zippo say Thor and have Raijin (god of thunder) on it? lol i ask this because i have the same one. haha. got it off of Dealextreme from Hong Kong. excellent price i got it for.
@AfflictedPerfection thank you so much because I am only 11 and think that zippos are so cool and I want one so bad and the worst part is that I have never actually held a working zippo. One more question, where could I buy a zippo
Jeff, really hoping you see this, i recently bought a zippo from a vintage/antique store, i have no information on it though i got it really cheap and i was wondering could you identify it? I made a video a few years ago for you and you gave me some information on an old victorinox i had but i dont have the means to make a video now, would you have any way i could send you some pictures of the zippo?
@cutlerylover when you say unused? Do you mean as in you've never lit it or opened the cap or do you mean you just flip open the top but have never lit the lighter itself. If the answer is any of those, how do you have the control. I would light any brand new Zippo I ever owned. TEACH ME YOUR WAYS
I have just brought one of the manual revolving case off of eBay to and the lighters look better when there in there boxes without the lids on them but I only have 5 lighters all zippos including a 1972 and 1974 zippo slim lighters but I'm only thirteen so I got plenty of time to fill the case
5:29 zippo on the right its solid brass zippo? i have it, but Yesterday I scratched it, you do not know how to remove scratches from solid brass Zippo?
I traded off most of my collection...I use to own a titanium zippo that goes for $75-$100 these days...I had a few collectible ones in the past as well, vintage models..but not anymore...
hey jeff, great videos. keep it up. i have a question about the armord case zippo. If the side walls, are twice as thick, does that mean the insert is half the size or is the zippo twice a thick. I guess what i am saying is, if i were to buy a armord case zippo, could i put a regular zippo insert. I know i would would never actualy do that, just wondering. please respond Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day
well the 099 stanbds for 2009, so if you have a number ot the right there ya go, if its not a number but instead markings google zippo date chart for more info...
hey jeff my zippos spark wheel(think thats what its called) keeps like jamming i go to strike it and it will lock up has this ever happend to you if it has how do you fix it Thanks -luke
Where do you buy the majority of your zippos? I don't like ebay much either, and the zippo website is REALLY expensive. In one vid you talked about getting cheap ones for 10 bucks...WHERE?
Would love to see your zippo collection as of now, especially a bit clearer.or more general zippo videos. :)
when I was a small kid, i stumbled across an old zippo, under the bed of a cheap seaside hotel. Do you still have it? Lol
I am a huge fan of you and your collection. You really saw the awesomeness of having zippo. Watching you i am going to get a 18k solid gold zippo tomorrow from the savings i saved to buy myself a car. peace :-).

I know I have not forgotton, I just had other videos to make 1st, I go in order from what people request and when...I have a few more to upload, but yours is next to film...
awsome video and really cool videos you have there keep up the good work
thats great! Yeah the pipe insert does work well to get the flame to go through the shimeny for lighting a pipe...not just for show, it works...
this is the most relaxing video i have ever watched
@kavieres you will find I no longer have most of the stuff in this video, it was traded for a william henry knife then the knifew was traded for a 357 magnum....then traded again for a glock 36 45acp...
nice, I am about 5 hours out, I went there though for a weekend with the family to check out their case/zippo visitors center...very cool!
knives, guns, survival gadgets, and zippos gotta be the best hobbies out there. Sometimes my wallet doesn't share my enthusiasm
yes I have a few in my zippo lookalike colection, lol they even have simuilar packaging, they obviosuly mimick the zippo brand but they are probably the best lighter next to a zippo for this design...
P.S. Totally cool Zippo case. I'm not so much into Zippos, but your enthusiasm makes it very interesting. (I *do* have an NRA Zippo that I bought about 20 years ago.) Your collection will be nice to pass down to a family member someday.

@zachchristiansen this entire collection is onyl worth about $600, and was accumilated over 7-7 years, most of it was traded after this video for a $700 knife then traded for a gun

Do you know where to get the flames on the zippos that appear at 4:55? Or do you sell them? Thank you.
where did you get the eat, ride, sleep one thats in most of your zippo vids?
I guess your talking about a butane lighter where you use butane fuel...to fill any butane lighter turn the lighter upside down, and you want to push down and hgold the bottle in towards the lighter until you do not hear it fillign anymore...instead of pumping it you just keep preassure down until its filled...you will know when its filled up by it being heavier if you can figure it out by hearing it...
is the emblem zippo that you sed for the pants strike sterling silver or brushed chrome?
Yes your right the pot leaf ones are not genuyine but way back in the 70's Zipo had one model with a pot leaf on it VERY rare, they mad eit thinkign it was justa design but after realizing what it was stopped makign them...VERY hard to find and woudl fetch alot of money, haha...

i have identical lighters on the top left @2:46 jeff, do you know the value of those i could never get a value on mine, thanks.
yes, thats common, zippo used parts that are new from previous months if they had left overs...
how do you make the shorty?I used to do some metal smithing and used to collect zippos so the whole Idea of a craft project with it seems cool!
@grantodamax haha just a vintage insert aking up the spot until a zipo can take its palce is all...but most fo this collectiion has been traded for a knife then traded again for a gun...
Hey jeff. could you please tell me where you got the Red/gold spider zippo? thanks!
@cutlerylover haha classic ending, then traded for a gun, lol
