Thorny5718 Because it’s an all arms pass out parade. If it was purely an infantry pass out they’d have bayonets fixed. The infantry students aren’t using bayonets for the sake of uniformity.
All the guardsmen had FA cup lugs so it was deemed unsafe for them to perform rifle drill with bayonets fixed on the parade after a few van Gough incidents in the practices. The rest of us had to wear our bayonets in the scabbard so we didn't show them up!
Some of the guardsmen had suffered van Gogh style injuries during the practices, so in the interests of them not putting on a horror show, their bayonets were to remain safely in their scabbards! The rest of us had to scabbard ours so as not to make them look like dicks!
The drilling needs a lot of improvement. Some officers have no idea what it means to slow march. Mr. Loud mouth parade commander in one instance said, (while the parade had their rifles at the shoulder arms). Gave the word of command to stand at ease, then he said stand easy, order arms. Disgraceful show, he should be busted down.

@@keithpringle3940 Why do they call them LIFEGUARDS THEN ???
@@davidrobinson5999 that's the name of the regiment u fanny!
@@keithpringle3940 BUT THEY R STILL GUARDS.!!! That sit on their horses PRAT !!
Why no bayonets?
Thorny5718 Because it’s an all arms pass out parade. If it was purely an infantry pass out they’d have bayonets fixed. The infantry students aren’t using bayonets for the sake of uniformity.
All the guardsmen had FA cup lugs so it was deemed unsafe for them to perform rifle drill with bayonets fixed on the parade after a few van Gough incidents in the practices. The rest of us had to wear our bayonets in the scabbard so we didn't show them up!
A lot of screeching.
Shame the officers couldn't march in time!
Bayonets unfixed?
+Alex Crane I wasn't infantry
Some of the guardsmen had suffered van Gogh style injuries during the practices, so in the interests of them not putting on a horror show, their bayonets were to remain safely in their scabbards! The rest of us had to scabbard ours so as not to make them look like dicks!

a lot of fidgeting BTW movts
Hussein Hassan send me a link to the video of your passing out. your so quick to judge.
In the guards platoon maybe!
What a mess of uniforms.
What a mess of a beard!
Let me guess. You was in. And your pass out was amazing. If you have a opinion like this let’s see how you were then? If there were cameras back then
The drilling needs a lot of improvement. Some officers have no idea what it means to slow march.
Mr. Loud mouth parade commander in one instance said, (while the parade had their rifles at the shoulder arms). Gave the word of command to stand at ease, then he said stand easy, order arms.
Disgraceful show, he should be busted down.
You must of been so perfect... would be interesting to see your pass out (assuming you was even in the army)
There was no slow march? I think your eyes and ears need improving!
That was Lance sergeant Cambell Scots Guards he was one of my instructors back in 1996.. he's a fantastic bloke and an excellent Guardsman. ..
There are many rapists and cowards here
What?
Another keyboard warrior!
