Good thing he retired. He put the livelihood of everybody else on the ground in jeopardy every time he ran onto the field. It's sad to say but he just wasn't up to the physical demands of AFL footy. It's a contact sport & he wasn't quite up to it anymore. It would have been unfair if someone had to miss a premiership, like Maynard may have, due to his "glass jaw". Fine player but unfortunately no longer fit for the rigors of footy.
