true Simone Biles is the oldest female Gymnast to make the US team since Marian Barone did aged 28 at Helsinki Finland in 1952 the oldest American to make it in the modern era before Simone was Dominique Dawes in 2000 a couple months short of her 24th birthday when the team won team all around Bronze in Sydney the US Women's Team has won 3 team Bronze 4 team Silver and 3 team Gold medals dating back to London Olympics 1948 Bronze London Silver Los Angeles 1984 Bronze Barcelona 1992 Gold Atlanta 1996 Bronze Sydney 2000 Silver Athens 2004 Silver Beijing 2008 Gold London 2012 Gold Rio 2016 Silver Tokyo 2021 and likely to win Gold in Paris on 5th August 2024 the team medals in Sydney were awarded on Sept 23rd 2000 58 days before Dawes's 24th Birthday Women's Individual all around medals in Paris will be awarded August 1st about 7.5 mos. before Simone's 28th birthday and individual Apparatus medals will be awarded for Women between August 3rd mid day Paris time and 9:15 AM Paris time on August 5th and Biles is likely to win 3 Apparatus gold medals and a Silver and possibly the two all around Gold medals making her the 2nd woman Gymnast in a non boycotted Olympics to win all 6 medals behind Daniela Silivas of Romania in 1988 only 3 Americans have ever come close those being Mary Lou Retton Los Angeles 1984 Shannon Miller Barcelona 1992 and Simone Biles Rio 2016 Retton got 3 Silver 1 Gold 1 Bronze Miller 2 Silver 3 Bronze and Biles 4 Gold 1 Bronze Of course Shannon Miller also won 2 Gold in Atlanta bringing her Olympic Medals to 7 and 9 World Championships medals while Simone has 30 World Championships medals 23 Gold 4 Silver 3 Bronze and 7 Olympic Medals 4 Gold 1 Silver 2 Bronze granted min age to compete up to 1996 was 14 and from 2000 to 04 it was 15 then from 08 to now its 16 in the Calendar year of the Olympics also if Biles wins all 6 Olympic medals she becomes the 2nd most decorated Olympic Gymnast ever behind Soviet era legend Larisa Latynina who has 18 Olympic Medals 9 Gold 5 Silver and 4 Bronze between 1956-1964 though if Biles does that this year nearly 2/3 of her World Championship and Olympic medals will be Gold never mind the next world Championships in 2025
