Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world. - Hudba
Jimmy is the coolest dude to ever rock an argyle sweater vest.
I already thought I need to find one like that...Page was cool without even knowing how cool.

Love the Stones and WHO but musically Zeppelin beats all.
They didn’t play songs…they attacked them. Pure genius

I dare say that Jon "Bonzo" Boham was the best and most spectacular drummer I saw perform in my adolescense... To this day he is unbeatable... That simple!!!
What these four guys created can NEVER be replicated. Period.
Unfortunately I must agree
duh
even by themselves and thank god for Robert Plant having enough sense to realize that....
Insane...
John Paul Jones's bass doubling the sound of the main riff is absolutely killer. Makes the song even better.
The studio version has double guitar tracks I think so he's converting it to four piece for live. I was originally confused about live Zeppelin but they had muti tracking all over their songs but pulled it off live too, no problem
JPJones was a phenomenal
Multitalented muso eccentric and a horrid individual excentuated
By his drug use and booze 🥃
The underrated godfather
Yeah he’s underated for sure he’s a damn fine musician every member of this band is top of their line, but the bass player don’t get as much attention- I don’t know why he’s a Gun!
JPJmost underrated
The atmosphere of a Led Zeppelin concert was unmatched.
My mother snuck in to their concert in Seattle around '74?? I was 7, she said she was going to church and I was insistent on going. Came in a side door and I was suddenly in full eye contact with Robert plant singing with Jimmy page next to him testing the limits of his guitar. Plant had the most hypnotic eyes n scared the daylights out of me to this day. I'm in my 50's now.
Agreed. Otherworldly. And I saw them 4 times.
@@mikemiller9030 Wow, what a nice history man! You mother was right: why going to CHURCH, if you can get closer to HEAVEN? Zeppelin rules 4ever!!!

Imagine, if you will, the year 1970... You could go see Zeppelin, Hendrix, Sabbath, the Who...and countless other legends live. What a time to be alive!!
Yes, it was... Watching these incredible early year performances, brings back so many memories of all those legends.
born in 71. Guess that figures!
Unfortunately, there will probably never be another magnificent era of so many musicians and bands like Led Zeppelin, that brought and delivered so much raw talent to form the greatest rock and roll period, ever.
I was 17, Birmingham England.
It was the time of all times.
Still listening and lovin’ it… ❤️
don’t forget the Doors
Best Rock Band Ever
I imagine that no matter the time of day, someone on planet earth is rocking Zep and loving every minute.
That maneuver Page does at 6:05 ...if you count the number of frames from the last note plucked to the next note right after he flipped the pickup switch--it's 15 frames. That's a literal half second that he made those moves in. Absolutely incredible
The master
"Artist's" today just have no stage presence, where as these guys are always smiling and moving around and actually feeling the music.
Robert is a very underated harmonica player
You tend to forget just how great of a sound Robert is on harmonica.
Yeah man no doubt. I just watched the live version for the first time and dam he even did the harmonics on this song!.. I never knew... Long live zep!!❤
I listen to studio You Shook Me for a reminder.
I wondered whether anyone would mention that.
It's the best part of the track.
There's no one to compare with L. Z.
Me?
Gotta love any 'guitar animal' who can rock his haute couture sweater vest, whilst making Rock history.
Long live Sir James Patrick Page.
I believe his mother made it for him.
Thank u Mom for giving birth to James Patrick Page! My favorite genius. ❤

One of the most iconic rock bands of all time!
THE most
Drop the "One of"....now you have the TRUTH!!
Best blues band and rock and roll band on the same song. This is Led Zeppelin.
Robert's talent for blues harmonica is often overlooked, but it's spectacular in songs like "When the levee breaks" and "Nobody's fault but mine"
Don't forget "You Shook Me"!
@@sullivansaunders6514 hell yeah the pioneer of the harmonica jams from zepp
@sullivansaunders6514 I love "You Shook Me." It had three solos in a row: organ, harmonica and guitar.
Hard to believe Robert Plant was only 22 here and had such a presence on stage.
Actually he was 21 here
❤
Хорошенький ❤😂
He was 22 in August of 1970
He was 21 here sister
Their at the Top of their game on stage on that song

Been even closer when I saw them at the Marquee Club in 1971, fortunately not the best moment of my life!
Plant, Page, Jones, Bonham, headbangers….all fabulous.
What a power house of an animal John Henry Bohnam was. I don't know another like him. To be able to bring the band back into such a manic set. It's all going off. Just pure class at every stage.
This group defines what rock n roll actually is ♥️
John Paul Jones is the best bass player ever! True genius!
Paul McCartney too
Is he really better than Jack Bruce.
@@carlneoh5843 he's good in songwritting actually but not in bass..but its just my opinion

There was nothing heavier than this in 1970. Was incredible.
Love Zep but there was Sabbath at that moment and they were heavier than Zep
Just love this early Zep stuff much more blues based........
Well you can say early and late because of the blues songs they made (when the levee breaks, in my time of dying, travelling riverside blues, nobody's fault but mine, and others )
they ripped off of sonny boy williamsons song by sticking it pointlessly in the beginning and end of the song.
@@arceptormost of the blues music was handed down from generation to generation. Much of the blues music is of a unknown origin, with some exceptions like Robert Johnson. Then blues musicians started to put out albums and attach their names to the songs.
Reguardless Led Zeppelin lifted quite a few songs, Dazed and Confused (by jake holmes), Babe I'm going to leave you, Whole Lotta Love & many others.
The first two Led Zeppelin albums are mostly blues covers. People like Willie Dixon had sued Zeppelin, and won. So today if you buy their music you find appropriate credit for the song writers.
However it's very controversial about who actually wrote most of these songs in the first place.
exactly!
@@jasoli1749 very nice no one's mentions traveling riverside blues. The girl I love has long black hair is another great one
Underrated track, in my top 5 Zeppelin songs
The best ban in History Led Zeppelin ❤️
The greatest rock band ever!
My absolute favorite band since I was 5 years old! Grew up playing drums like my all time favorite Mr. John Henry Bonham: NO ONE had feel like that! As my drum teacher told me :"You don't play the drums, you "feel" the beat and lay it down": Something Mr. Bonham understood!
You got that right!☮️
favorite band too
And it’s not even close
No doubt
1:35 When Led Zeppelin told The Stones and The Who "WE COMING FOR YOU SUCKAS" !!!
Ha, love it. They blew both of them away.
Funny, because that portion is actually fake. Jimmy messed up and edited it out on the official release
More like the first song (Good Times Bad Times) on their first album at the 1:30 mark. That solo still kicks ass 50+ years later
They both hate them for it as well
This is better than the studio version. It sounds like a runaway train about to derail.
The Mighty Led Zep can't be beat!!
This is live at the Royal Albert Hall filmed in 1970. Captures the early power of Led Zep in concert when their popularity was exploding and rock fans realized they were something incredible. Word of mouth spread quickly. We are lucky it was recorded for posterity.
👏🏻🎸😎
We already know that lover we know ain't no need to tell us more
I was there !!! Wow ... had a box seat but we never sat down just rocked it ... I’m 70 now and still love them and remember the concert like it was a few years ago !!!
Yes, considering how Jimmy and Bonzo started liking the drugs and alcohol more than the substances liked them. Saw them 3x’s during the Physical Graffiti tour. Ouch, 2x’s they were horrible and the 3rd was transcendent
@@michaelbrickley2443 It sounds like you were on something that was affecting you're hearing.
@@christopherekin1747 hardly…you obviously have poor taste or never saw them. Jimmy Page has admitted he was drunk almost every night and has no memory of any Led Zeppelin shows. I’ve seen shows in the best theatre’s and used to work with rock bands and jazz musicians. Helped build a recording studio in Huntington. They liked their drugs, Bonzo & Pagey. It's always interesting hearing Jimmy and interviews talking about what made him a great guitar player. He never comes out and directly states it. He just hints. He talks about how people would probably think what I do is boring. Basically all he's saying is he's fucking awesome at the guitar because he practiced. He practiced a lot.
There are just no words in any language to really describe the level of awesomeness this performance was?
Man when that change starts is fucking amazing. John paul Jones went apeshit as fuck in this one.
Bonham goes fucking nuts too!

If I had a chance to go back in time for a concert it would be L. Z. hands down!!! What an influence these guys had on rock and roll. Pure genius!!
Saw them live one time , unforgettable
You'd want to pick the right night - but I mainly agree with you.
You know, I've heard some sound checks where sober, the band sound fantastic. A note perfect version of Night Flight for instance, and some spot-on Elvis. Then you hear the resulting concert, the same day, after they various 'refreshements' the band took, and they sound poor. I'm convinced their bad shows were 95% due to intoxication, LOL.
Here in the early days they were tremendous and the '72 tour was great - there are many other highlights.
Baaaba,,,Baaaba I wanna bring it on home to you; you sure enough did here Led Zep 👏 👏 👏

Yeah, despite the incredibly powerful drumming of Bonzo and Pages molten guitar and riffing, it’s still Plants voice that fills the hall and dominates everything! His vocals actually stand out above it all!

This doesn’t compare to any live performance in the current century, truly remarkable all around.
Agreed. Zeppelin at this time had minimal light and sound basic pa and amplification, no Pyro no lasers no explosions fire etc etc and their show still blew people's minds. Talent power and musicianship and a good-looking viking Thor God singing didn't harm matters! Awesome band that can sadly never be repeated in any way.

This crowd had no idea of the magic that they witnessed that night
The widespread consensus is that Bonham is the greatest rock drummer ever. 40+ years since his and after watching this, amazingly, it’s still hard to debate that notion
The thing is in this period we were blessed with about 4 incredible drummers who would all be worthy of the title.
@@glenchapman3899 yes. I thought Bonham was great, but at that time and still, it was Ginger Baker for me! His jazz background and African rhythm influence made him the superior drummer for me. for example czcams.com/video/1EKaflXTzHw/video.html

I never get tired of this musical craftsmanship performed by the “Best Band “ ever! Watch Bonham crash those drums and cymbals like a controlled “madman”
Excess kills any rock n roller!!! But the music in the late 60s, 70s, and early 80s ( stretching that a bit) the best . Nothing cannot ever will replace that era of RnR
No we know why Bonham was the Best
I always argue with people when they say Niel Peart is best drummer ever. Which I can make a case for cuz he was unbeleivable , BUT MY argument was Peart had 50 pc drum kit and Bonham had a 5 pc w/4 cymbals and made it sound so badass.

As a Zep fanatic,, how I would have loved to see Zep live in 1970, 1972 & 1973.. The power generated by a 3 piece is amazing, along with the greatest front man ever to dominate s stage.

They did pretty well for having a twelve year career. While at the peak of their popularity in '73, I consider the '72 tour to be peak Zeppelin. Listen to "How The West Was Won" for proof. No band in the known universe could touch them at that time.
@@Baza1964 Amazing that those performances were maligned, I thought the band was on fire.

Ive been playing guitar for 20 years and I still marvel at this band, its technical proficiency, its production and is creative genius. Page's taste on guitar is still what keeps me coming back. Those licks are just so scrumptious. I cant seem to get his sound down but I dont have his equipment, of course. When I learn his licks Im still so impressed by his taste and how he takes a riff, develops it, and turns it into a complete masterpiece.
his sound was stacked amps dialed up to 11, thats why its so muddy

Robert Plant's harmonica in this song inspired me to learn to play the harmonica. Tks Robert 👍
This people is the greatest band of all time at the top of their game, argue with me.
Great song
Thank you, Willie Dixon
Why?
@nickkaltz738 Because the real writer of this song is Willie Dixon. The original ,,Bring it on home" was recorded by Sonnie Boy Williamson II. Led Zeppelin copied the intro and the outro(the other part of the song is their own composition), but they didn't credit Dixon as songwriter so he brought a claim against them(again).
I can’t count how many times I’ve played this video since it’s been put up. I used to watch it before zeppelin had there own channel and it was uploaded by someone else.
