I feel like at this point an intervention is more likely than Aerochrome happening
I was so hoping he’d go out and shoot with full makeup.
Jason is slowly descending into madness and i'm all here for it.
It's either that or he's ascending into enlightenment.
"drag and drop"
Can't lose his sanity if he never had any.
Kodak has the power to save him
I brought popcorn 🍿 😊
New grainydays as soon as my cheeks hit the porcelain? Easy S Tier day 😤
HAHAHA
Nice
nothing has ever kept me more engaged throughout a video than watching you slowly paint your face. you are a soldier my friend, a gentleman, a true pioneer and we stand with you.
Absolutely. How he kept a straight face during the narration/make-up baffles me. I bet the 'out-takes' were hilarious.
Don't forget to powder your face at the end to set the makeup and get that matte look!
I will always appreciate the 21:9 Aspect ratio for videos as it makes me feel better about buying an ultrawide monitor
Same! And makes up for the times he posts 4:3 vids
Thanks for reaffirming that Monica and Dexter are the most normal subjects of your videos. Caleb & you just do you. 💝
I was legit laughing my ass off during this video. Jason, you need to write for comedy TV shows or something! Also, the photos were awesome as always. I actually liked the noisy shadow areas.
Yoo Reimann! Just bought a Canon P thanks to your videos! I've been loving it :)
@@THTPRSN love to hear it!! It’s a great camera! Enjoy it📸🎞👍🏼
i really appreciate the effort you went into for this one. With so many youtubers making videos after videos of lackluster content, it's so refreshing to finally find a good makeup tutorial that's actually useful.
I love how Jason gets really pretty then slips into a tight dress and goes to kodak to do what needs to be done to get aerochrome back. lol.
I'm so happy to see there are still creative people on this platform who prioritize good ol' good content over clickbait titles
You really push your content to the next level. I'm waiting for the full tutorial on make up.
Ilford Delta 400 shot at 1600 is a killer low light film stock. It's insane how much detail it retains being pushed two stops
Im here for the photography. My wife is here for the makeup. Youve finally found that unique creative niche, thank you.
I've been loving the look of your videos recently and have been trying to guess which anamorphic you are using. It seems to focus so close and have awesome barrel distortion, 1.5-2x bokeh, and small enough for using it on run and gun stuff. What is this unicorn lens??
gotta know
i looked at bad flashes' new video on 28mm tt artisan lens, at around 2:30 you can kinda see the lens, I'm assuming some sort of Leica R lens with anamorphic adapter, and a SLR magic filter thread focus thing?
It makes sense since I think he had an F mount adapter from scanning, has a 35-70mm Leica R lens...but that's just my guess haha
This high praise indeed coming from @GxAce
I just set a new personal record for how long I maintained what the kids used to call a "half chub".
It's really refreshing to see someone who is so obviously not talented at photography also be incredibly skilled in makeup/beauty tips.
youre one of the only creators i watch that uses different aspect ratios in your videos - really cool!
Fantastic drag makeup tutorial Jason, the stuff about photography was cool too, I guess.
man oh man i love film
Very much digging this anamorphic adaption / glass you're using.
Between the grainy black and white pics and the make up application, I think this may be my favourite video so far. Brilliantly unique combo.
The work you put into ALL your art(s) is next-level. I salute you.
You should do more B&W. You're really good
love how the videos aspect ratio coincides with the type of camera he's using in the video :)
Love your video story telling!! The best!!!
Unbelievably creative and funny, kept me invested the entire video
I’ve needed a new makeup routine for a while now, thank you Jason 💅🏻
the anamorphic lens shooting is gold
Best photography/makeup vlog on this arm of the galaxy.
bro really tried to slide film photography on my make up video smh
I don't know what is more unhinged: Jason's behaviour or me watching this video with a deadpan expression just accepting it as completely normal at this point.
You are pure gold Jason 💕
This was a classic, no two ways about it!
bw on the xpan goes so damn hard
hilarious. and thanks for giving us a look at this film.
It was by far my favourite film stock.
I love the anamorphic lens used in this video. ❤
So beautiful ❤️
Nice shots buddy
I find these no-info shadows so pretty actually.
And other thing I find absolutely bonita, is you, Jason :)
Brilliant, I think these GRWM 50 shades of J style could take off.
Love the image in the market where you exposed for the shadows but the highlights just about stayed, superb. 😍👍
Very nice of you to sprinkle in some film into this makeup tutorial.
Watched this 3 times. So. F-ing. Awesome.
would love to see more videos of you reviewing old film stocks!!
yass, slay grainy queen 💅💅
You’re loving the Xpan at the moment ❤
Great video as always, best photography youtuber fr ong
I like that picture of the subject that is getting mushed into the shadows. It reminds me of me.
By now Jason is just insane, and i am here for it 😂
brilliant. yes.
slaying nail polish
What lens are you using on the video camera?? Pls, itll be our little secret
i love the nails!!!!!
i think i spoke too early
Loved everything about this video, I feel like the X-Pan has a metaphysical hold over me that can only be satisfied by selling my kidney to buy one and shoot it once a year. Really looking forward to the full face makeup tutorial :P
What kind of anamorphic lens you use ? It's so Good! 0:53
so Jason's preparing for the Photopia, apparently, can't wait to see the whole glam!
It's always a good day when Jason whips out the Sex-Pan.
GrainyDays: Come for the photography, stay for the drag
Oi oi, it's Aldi Ryan Gosling again.
Love the videos as usual, Hamburg is a great city, enjoy the cocktails and beers there!
I was really hoping for some mime in a box action at the end
Love your FUJIFILM TX-1.
Set Phasers to "Stunning" 😘
Hi just recently found this mod to recreate the aero chrome Look with digital cameras (yeah I know digital but it’s still cool), you essentially remove the cameras IR filter from its sensor, with something like a yellow filter the image looks essentially like aero chrome
Shot a few rolls of presto 1600 when it was fresh. Thin negatives were the reason I only shot those few rolls. Just comes with the territory of these films. I tend to shoot delta3200 at 800 or 1600 these days..
Ok, you rock!
If I worked for a streaming studio, I would give you your own tv show, This is gold.
Can’t get enough
Jason I'm not sure what it is but you are just beautiful today. Simply glowing.
I have some of this film which expired at 2009, frozen in my fridge for more then a decade. I recently shoot them at iso400-640 and always with a yellow filter. It result the most grainy picture that I have ever get! (even more than Fuji NP-SS expired at 1988)
i’ve watched and subscribed to so many photographers on here yet you are one of the only ones that isn’t whiny and annoying these days
what anamorphic lens are you using?? It’s frankly delicious
Ilford 3200 shot at 1600 (1200 at dusk) is my go-to. It works well. Give it a shot.
Love the strap on that xpan
The second I saw Jason sans beanie/hat, I knew some zany shit was about to go down
still cant unshake myself from the fact that the cinema is finally ours...
Film is beautiful god 😩
The pronunciation of Porsche there was utterly beautiful
lmao this was beautiful. and so were u 😘 the film actually looked super sick. it’s the inner black metal fan in me speaking tho
Babe wake up, new grainy days just dropped.
love the GRWM content, maybe everyday skin care routine next?
Cayenne is a sweet ride, but OMFG the maintenance. Good luck Caleb.
was this shot on anamorphic lenses?? looks beautiful.
Holy hell you look hot towards the end there, Jason! Funny as shit as always, and your photos speak for themselves. Cheers from a long time fan.
Jason converted to mime
Slay queen 💅
Sorry to be one of these:
We had a couple of Neopans into the 2000s:
Neopan F (iso 32)
Neopan SS (iso 100, priced like a Stundent Film)
Neopan Across (iso 100, more expensive)
Neopan Across Presto (!) (iso 400)
Neopan Across Super (!) Presto (iso 1600)
Super Presto is so rare these days and was my 2nd fav for its flatness and graininess as well as Neopan SS. I miss Fujifilms…
Super presto was a dope street film arguably
What lens was used to shoot this video ???????? So good
the music you used for this segment -- definitely had me losing myself until I noticed the video was over.
Also Jason, I am sorry i never sent that roll of film. I'll get to it.. sorry I suck.
nice one
Even though I feel the HP5 is probably a technically superior film emulsion, I really love the tonality and contrast in the Presto shots. It's just a shame the dynamic range seems to be so limited, and it's so hard to hold on to those shadows. Yeah, I'd definitely expose another half-stop at least, and be more aggressive with spot metering on the shadows.
These aspect ratios are crazy
I too have a Porsche Macan (a GTS) , and I absolutely adore it! Rips me, my partner, and 5 corgis to 60 in just under 4.4 seconds, LOL! Fun toy.
Delta 3200 says in the spec sheet it’s actually ISO is 1000-1250 ISO depending on the developer. And no, fast films don’t have to be inherently contrasty. As you can see with Delta 3200 of TMax p3200. Higher contrast just really helps with getting good prints from underexposed negs. That’s why Portra 800 is more contrasty than Portra 400.
My man is absolutely beautiful! i love film.
I paused the video at 4:08 and it's terrifying, but I can't look away!
Speaking of darkness inside all of us, allow me to make a reference to one of my favorite games.
“Welcome to Black Space.”
i liked that you kept your face completely normal for the entire video
Your video was hilarious and the whole make up part was super creative. I actually really like the grainy washed out look of the film, except for the shadows. the shadows do be looking horrible though. I'd love to see some more reviews of black and white film stocks :)
And here I was about to say you were good at putting on lipstick.
He is a Californian so... it was matter of time.
J-son, I couldn't find the video about shoot B&W and put some filter to look spooky. May I know what filter is to look spooky with B&W film?
judging by the makeup, you clearly put a lot of effort into this video. I guess I'll give it a like.
