This is Victor Borge who was not only a brilliant pianist, but excellent comedian. In this clip he isn't really being fightened by Ms Mulvey's high- pitched note- it's calculated comedy. But she was unaware of what was coming. Borge was brilliant with ad libs such as these that took his guests by surprise.
Nope, she knew exactly what was coming, because she was part of the performance. Her name is Marilyn Mulvey: czcams.com/video/Ysw-J_d-1K8/video.htmlsi=RkVavobKC4C1aibK&t=224
Thank you for the explanation BUT you are modestly WRONG! There is another video where they are both doing practically the same thing just a bit longer.

I miss Victor so much. In the 1970s, 80s and 90s he would pop up as a guest on TV shows at the weekend in the UK. He was an amazing pianist but a brilliant comic also. So very talented and so very much missed.
Those of you who didn't have the opportunity to see Victor Borge live, there is plenty of you tube stuff. The man was one of the most talented and funny ever born. Had the honor of seeing him once, late in his career. If you find this short bit amusing, you need to see more!
@@sandraderoubaix734well she’s a FUNNY soprano. And I mean…you can be both. Madeline Kahn..Patricia Routledge (who is a mezzo tho)..Kristin Chenoweth..not saying that you don’t think you can be both, and maybe this soprano is not a certified comedian but I just wanted to give some examples anyway😂
@@asnalelo.165 Fair enough--she is definitely both an opera singer and funny. I think the above point is that unlike some of the others you named, this soprano didn't specifically plan to be an actress or do comedy. I think after doing these bits with Victor Borge, she returned to her usual operatic work.
Ok nobody cares. I’m 16 and I like to listen to everything from jazz to flamenco to cuban music of all tipes to peruvian guitar music to mongol throat singing and country and mariachis and some old italian songs and military anthems from Spain and Italy and some old catalan music and very old russian tunes with acordeon and argentinian and uruguayan guitar music amd boleros and all kind of stuff. But do I feel the need to come here and tell the world how classy I am? No. Do you know why? Cause it doesn’t matter and nobody cares.

Been looking for this clip for a very long time I have watched over 30 videos of piano memes in the hopes of finding this and today i found it in my recommendations thank you youtube.
When it comes to western music I like Opera the most ♥️ and then folk metal , soft rock and few pop songs of 80,90s and early 2000s Opera is music of western heaven
Same irony as Peter Sellers telling Alan Whicker about the crazy old men jogging on the beach in California. Three months later he died of a heart attack himself. Despite doing nothing more strenuous than an impression.
Scared "A PIANIST"???????? The is the absolutely brilliant Victor Borge. This is one of his more famous comedy routines. And despite being known for his musical comedy - he was a legitimately genius pianist and musician.
I heard when he was captured in WW2 by the Nazis they smashed his hands with a hammer so he could never play again. He learned to play again to spite them and show they couldn’t take that away from him.

I had the privilege of seeing Victor Borge in concert a few decades ago. Yes, he was a very talented entertainer and musician.

6 years later and this still brings me laughter from the fast reaction from the pianist
The benefits of rehearsals.
Truly an unforgettable performance from Victor Borge in 2017 😌
And the only reason he could do this is because when he stopped kidding around his playing was superb.

The singer was a world famous opera soprano not a comedian.

The first four notes made me think he was playing Barbie girl
Victor Borge. Possibly the funniest pianist of all time.
See you again when this is getting recommended 5 years later with 10 million views probably

It sounds like shes saying "Holy Sh*t"
His fight or flight response kicked in and he was ready to throw down.
I hope people know this is a bit

The moment I saw the old man on piano I started laughing before she scared him 😂😂😂

I love how the lady scared him, and him getting scared actually scared her too.
Find a longer clip of Victor Borge and you can see their whole routine together. He wasn't really scared.

No offense meant. It seemed worded that you weren't familiar with them. Hope you enjoy his acts. 😉👍
It kinda looks like the singer was trying to scare him. Look at how she turns her head to him and just starts yelling at him.

Victor Borge & Marilyn Mulvay
