The brown slug is an invasive species from Southern Europe. It has few natural enemies here and has spread like wildfire. We have been trying to get rid of them for years. The black one is native. That was todays slug news! Enjoy Norway😊
I had no idea! They really have taken over
That must be why the hedgehogs are fatter
@@duncanself5111 No, hedgehogs dont eat the Spanish slug. What they need is the Indian runner duck or any other domesticated descendant of the Mallard. They love the Spanish slug. In some places you can rent a flock of runner ducks to clean your property from slugs.
Need a big salt shaker, Natural enemy!
Being of Norwegian heritage i must say i really enjoyed the Norway videos! How fascinating to see how life is there! And the beauty! Thank you!
All prisons in Norway are for rehabilitation. We have short prison sentences in Norway compared to many other countries and one day these will come out and become your neighbour. The punishment is that you are deprived of your freedom - not the right to become a better person. Therefore, all prisons have opportunities to provide you with training for a profession or opportunities for education in most areas. Only 2.5% of the inmates return after new criminal acts - which is surprisingly good results. We have social security in Norway so that you can rent an apartment, get money for rent, electricity and insurance - as well as an amount to cover food and other costs until you are back on track. You simply get help for most things until you are ready to help yourself. This is simply because it is nationally economically profitable for the state that everyone contributes and works - not lying on the streets where the opportunities are equal to "0".
Y'all do not have a drug culture like other Western countries which can lead to more crime and violent crime. So, Y'all let child rapists out and provide them with everything they need? Don't agree with that.
Thanks for the tour of a town in Norway. Thanks for all the sights.
A gorgeous place, the scenery is postcard perfect! Thanks so much Chris for showing us this part of the world that many of us will likely never see!
I have NOT seen one bit of litter!! BEAUTIFUL place!!❤❤❤
If I see litter on the streets I pick it up 😊 👋 from Norway
The "slug " that you have shown, we call it the brown snale. It has arrived here from Spain with plants and it has become a real problem. In the southern Eorope it will be regulated by drought, but in Norway the humidity during the seasons make them multiply like crazy.
Wow, that's very interesting. Is the black snale also from Spain? They were everywhere in the southern regions
The Spanish slug is dominating much of Europe as droughts dont bother them as much. They displaced many of the very similar looking red/brown native slugs to the point where these have become endangered - it is almost impossible to tell them apart without a DNA test, but the Spanish slug is more resilient and has fewer natural enemies and thats why its taking over...
@@Ganiscol Maybe they can import a bird that will eat it. Chickens eat slugs, no?
The whole town looks like a screensaver
Must be really beautiful in the snow
What a beautiful place. All the vegetation is so lush & green. These Norway videos are really nice to watch.
What a wonderful place, I think thoes automatic grass mowers are awsome, we needs thoes here in the USA.😅
We have them. You just have to buy one.
WOW, everything is so pristine!!
Those hydrangeas! Very green, very well-manicured and very clean. And virtually no traffic. The slug reminds me of the banana slugs we have in Oregon. That slate roof was super cool.
what a beautiful place, Norway.....I bet youve been having a good time
It’s so beautiful… I just can’t even…. 😭💕🥰
When your back in the states check out Mt Horeb Wisconsin, rich Norwegian history
Yes, i love Mt. Horeb!
From what you have shown us, Norway seems like a nice place to visit and live there. I love this town. Neat and clean. A nice to live, if one wants to live away from the big towns. As a rule, smaller towns don't have the same places for entertainment, food and sites to see. Living in a town like this one, but close to a larger city, would be ideal. No hustle and bustle is nice. Thanks.
Just about all towns Norway are very clean, as in most (not all) countries in Europe.
My heritage is of Norwegian decent but never been. Scandinavian countries live a good life in beautiful places.
Like a Movie Set :) oh, imagine how fast a 'lawn rumba' would last here in the States. It'd end up in a Pawn Shop before a complete cutting. sad.
Your trip is fascinating, Chris. What an idyllic town Vik is! Thanks, as ever, for taking us along. I'm curious as to why you chose to visit Norway. Maybe I missed that along the way?!
Great video. Very enchanting place.
Beautiful place to live!!
Hey Chris! As a Norwegian subscriber for years it,s very cool to see how you expirience "my Norway" in a objective way. Most tourists go to Geiranger or Bergen, but you end up in this "gem"....Vik in Sogn. Impressive! 👍😃 PS. Let me know if you want a guidence or a tip to a cool place..... if you are still around😉👍😃
My heart sings seeing such beauty - thank you!
Norway has lots of spectacular deep fjords.
You nailed it.
Just like a picture postcard or a calendar.
So beautiful. And again, your narration is as if you are taking one on one with a friend.
Thanks for bry this to us, Chris
I'd like one of those lawn mowers. Great idea. Lovely place
LOL Roomba for the lawn😂
WoW! The veiw of the sea is beautiful! Wish I was there! The mountains are amazing! Your L 👀 king good yourself sir!😊 thanks for sharing your walk!😊
Great episode ❤
That's so cool Chris. Awesome video as well as the history and the scenery.
Just beautiful❤
Thanks Chris! 🤠👍
Beautiful place!
Beautiful mountains, beautiful town. The slugs are amazing!
Nobody stealing the fruit or the mower it's like paradise compared to the USA and the UK
My dream place to live. I really hope I can make it happen someday. It is so beautiful
It almost seems like folks are missing! Like the Apocalypse, or just before!
Jeg liker filmen. Tusen takk!
Beautiful Coverage
🏵️🌼🇮🇳🌼🏵️
beautiful
Awesome

It's strange how there are no people around.
I need more backstory on those fish heads!
Ask ahed😊
Those lawnmowers terrify me.
They make a special cheese there 🙂 hope you tried it 😊
You should have hopped the fence and took a lap on the back of that mower cutting the field. I'm sure they probably wouldn't mind because they're used to it! lol
ah nyter Norge forventet aldri dette det er en god overraskelse takk for rampelyset
Does this town get a lot of snow each year?
No, usually not because this place is a few meters above sea level.
Not a lot compared to the north and further from the sea, but there's usually enough that the mountain road to Voss is closed for a while. Usually right around Christmas when I need to drive there...
Where do the inhabitants work?
Why was your destination Norway ?
I'm going to take a wild guess, and say that Chris was inspired by the "troll" installations he visited in the US recently, which were set up by a Norwegian sculptor and his team. Spectacular scenery. Feel ambivalent about the exposure. As lovely as it is, I would rather it remain relatively unknown to the world at large, and for traditional life to persist.
Scandinavia is where quite a few crabbers like Sig Hansen who is ike a 4th generation crabber went to to remove an invasive species of russian red crabs, no sex, no size limit, they just want them out of their waters.
Looks like a luminati social prison
Where are the people? Also, why are the houses made of wood in such an extremely cold climate, doesn’t it get wet and rot.
At work or at home, depending on the hour. Or at the gym, in the mountain, on the water, etc.. We do not have a lot of activities happening in the streets. The houses are made of wood because we have a lot of trees, and they don't rot because we have top quality water resistant paint.
Maybe this is where Jay-Z is from. He keeps going on about Hove.
What video of the black church? Why not put it in the description...
Grab one of those tomatoes and you will get knives thrown at you from four different directions 😐
Really hope it isnt too difficult as an american to move there
$25 for an ice cream??? Wow!
9:41 25.00 NOK (Norwegian Crowns) equals Approx. $2.25 U.S.
@@Maggies87 $2.25 for an ice cream??? Wow!
So few people
What is the name?
Beautiful village. Keep diversity away if you want it to remain as such.
Wow -- what a nasty thing to say . Shame on you.
Are you denying the effects of "diversity"?@@feedtherich11
Plz pray for you me Syed Shahzad Hasan rizvi in church 😊😊😊
I'm confused. How can it be so beautiful and look the best place on earth to live, with no muggings rapes or murders, with no diversity?
Meow

Sorry but, rapists and murders should not be allowed at of prison ever. Especially child rapists b
Besides you I only seen a couple of people. Beautiful place but I wouldn't want to live there.
In America you commit a crime.... back on the streets you go?
