    Thanks to your Review i got one of These with 46#. IT seems to be stiffer than the one Reviewed Here so i have no Vibration, and of course No Handshock. Over 200 fps easily. So thank you for the Inspiration! I have watched many of your Other Reviews Back to Back and my Impression is that this bow is at eye Level If Not better than some of the big names and more expensive bows when it comes to Performance and fun. Now i have only one desire left: a 34" Long Draw Monster that actually survives Long Time. Af archery bows do Not...

    Armin, many Olympic Style Bow Shooters use a Positive Tiller of 2mm too 6mm. Meaning that the Tiller distance of the Top Bow Limb is 2mm too 6mm more than the Bottom Limb. This is to reduce vibration and lower the Sound Level. If the Bottom Limb has more Tiller than the Top Limb then it’s Called a Negative Tiller. Thanks for your Videos. Be Safe!

    I love the point at 10:20, this is what sold me on the bow. You can only hear the arrows rattling in Armins hand, no arrow slap, almost no string and no sound from the bow. It points to the bow being at peak efficiency for it's drawweight in conjunction with the arrow shot!

Shooting mediteranean though. Started with compount, moved on to hybrid and recurve (Damon Howatt Super Diablo 45LBS) and, after watching these great reviews, orderd bows from Alibow, AF, Freddie, Kaya and I Szimeiszter... Great review! 178 fps is fantastic for a 12.2 GPP arrow! That's a strong indication it's well engineered and constructed. No extra mass where it doesn't need to be.
    On a side note, mosquitoes are able to detect the CO2 you exhale - that's one of the principle ways they find you apparently. One of the ways you can keep them away if you're going to be standing in one spot for an extended period is to use a fan to diffuse and blow your CO2 away. There are some cheap, fairly large industrial sized fans that could easily do the job for a whole group of people at an outdoor range. I have one that moves an enormous volume of air that runs on 50-90 W. It's like a little hurricane machine and it does work at keeping the little bloodsuckers away. Also, mosquitoes go for ankles, so keeping them covered makes you a less attractive target.

    I'm hoping you'll get and test a modern "assyrian" bow that really looks like, and behaves like, what historical assyrian reliefs are suggesting :-) that means ~36 inches long draw (scaled up to modern people), beautiful half circle shape when drawn, angular when not drawn, duck or lion ears, more round that flat in section, no particular change in profile at the handle...

    • @freejutube
      @freejutube Před 2 lety

      @Eschen Harja no, did not see one yet... i guess we have to wait for a bowyer to decide to make an assyrian bow that is fully compatible with depictions of the time, instead of adulterating the shapes and capabilities with (probably) more efficient modern profiles and norms...

    • @freejutube
      @freejutube Před 2 lety

      @Eschen Harja (more) if we suppose that (1) the shape of the assyrian bow was looking like a half circle - with the string and the arrow looking like 3 of the radiuses of that circle - when drawn at full length, and that (2) the draw length was 10 cm less that what we can do now with our (probably) longer arms, we would need to have assyrian bows Pi*10 cm longer that the real assyrian bows... the modern assyrian bow would be as tall as the bowman, instead of being as tall as one's shoulder (like we see in assyrian depictions)... the thing would be relatively viable...

    • @freejutube
      @freejutube Před 2 lety

      @Eschen Harja thanks for asking my advice :-) but i have no opinion about that. You'd better ask Armin Hirmer - Malta Archery - who made the video that we are commenting : he tests a lot of bows... as for myself, i would only consider an assyrian bow that really looks like the bows that the assyrians used... (i've seen none for now).

    Assyrian bow speed is the best, better than Egyptian, Mongol, Turkish, Hungarian, and Chinese design. And to think the Assyrian empire predates all other empires. In term of speed I would dare say the only bow can rival the Assyrian bow is Tatar bow if made with bamboo and modern lamination process.

      @@shahidrafiq6401 Western tradtional and modern recurve are very similar (you draw to corner of your mouth or chin with 3 fingers). onlympic recurve limbs cost 3-8 times the price because of space age design and material. It does give superior adjustability draw smoothness but not by the factor of 3 or 8 times. Traditioanl horse bow are really fun easy to get into but harder to master. Western trad bow is here i started. Western recurve perfoms better speed wise and very efficient at same draw weight and draw length. But Some eastern trad bows are no that far behind if not better in speed and does not lose as much efficiency at launching heavier arrow. They get the speed from longer draw (draw behind ear with thumb due to its design of the siyah). The Tang chang An bow and Asyrian bow by grozer or Saracen or monolith Tatar bow from Lukas nawalny. But if i had a do over i would get an ali bow advance mogol bow to practice and enjoy archery and its reward feeling. (you can 3 finger or thumb draw) It is a well balnce between speed and ease of draw for great price. perhaps get a decent western trad recurve too. i am not experts just from my research and own personal experience. Anyone know of a company that makes a western asiatic angular bow (Egyptian/Assyrian) style bow with a arrow shelf?

    I don't follow your logic of geometry regarding the 60 degrees at the tips. And you are experienced in Design theory?

    For your Price/Value, you should go ahead and do the math, dividing the price by your rating. In this case, the smaller the number the better the value. That’s a little counter-intuitive, so I suggest the reciprocal, Value/Price. This would actually mean how many dollars or Euros the buyer would be paying per star, or bang for the buck, as they say. This, of course, would be a subjective rating as you stipulate many times.
    This would also start to give you a sense of how consistent you are in your ratings. It would also let you see in your ratings what is most important. Is a second string as important or more important than, say, the draw experience? You can then adjust the weight of each rating by either increasing the number of stars possible or increasing the number of items rated. For example, let’s say you decided that performance was worth twice as much as packaging, then you would have twice as many performance rating items as packaging rating items. Because of the number of items you have in your evaluation, you have weighted each area already, The question is are those weights appropriate to you?
    Of course there are sorts of efficiency calculations you could perform, but I understand this is not the purpose of your evaluations and videos. Thanks for your excellent videos. Just trying to help.

      Armin Hirmer hi, I want a bow for target hiting and to learn to fire arrows like you and lars andersson , basically to be able to hold 3 arrows in my right hand and shoot them really fast . I dont care about design , i want something practical and not very expansive . thank you so much , you are amazing at what you do .

    Niemand weiß wie ein assyrischer Bogen ausgesehen hat , es kann also kein Nachbau sein sondern , bestenfalls eine funktioniernde Interpretation dieser Waffe . 😊
