Different raags have different variations and combinations of musical notations. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni are the notations in Indian Classical music, whose English equivalent is Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti. Except Do and So, every other musical note (Re, Mi, Fa, La, Ti) has another underlying tone. In total, there are 12 notes. The various combination of the regular and underlying tones constitute the different raags.
Any form of music or song that has ever been created is based on the raags. There are thousands of raags in existence that have been narrowed down to 83 secondary raags (derived from 6 primary raags)
It's a bit long but it's kind of a brief description of Indian Classical music
