Owned both of these. Liked the echo for its more basic setup, push type and no frills design. Echo cut well and was super lightweight. Sold it for the Ego select cut, dual blades was appealing. The Ego was okay, but the delay in self propelled, lack of vacuum leaving strips of grass, overall feel is flimsy, I returned it for a Honda HRN216 and found best all around for my taste.

You have the best demo i've seen so far. Thank you 👍

I went with the EGO 2135SP and couldn’t be more satisfied. Great machine all around. However, it’s not an Echo that is a mower to compare with an EGO. Echo isn’t in the same class as EGO. The Greenworks & Milwaukee are the two that are always near the top with EGO in any relevant comparison. My other lawn tools are a Ryobi 40V platform that include a 14” chainsaw, a 15” weed wacker & a 525 cfm blower. Had those for 3 years now and they all operate wonderfully. 👍🏻✌🏻

I bought the Echo when electric mowers were just coming out. Your video is comparing the original older Echo to a much newer Ego. Yes, many of your complaints about the Echo are true. But the several years I have had it, I have had zero issues. The plastic deck is all one piece which makes it much lighter, and still shows not one single crack. I bought the Echo online when they had a special price that included two batteries. I am disappointed Echo has not upgraded this mower. But as of July 2023, I have seen a new Echo model which appears to be a rebadged Greenworks with less than stellar reviews. After several years, my Echo is still going strong with zero problems, although other mowers have surpassed it.

Very cool that you can see the battery charge on the ego while using the machine @ToolReviewZone

Very nicely done my Friend 😊😁 I've been thinking about EGO since it was on sale last winter. $250 normally _399 just didn't have the money at the time. Really appreciate your time and effort in helping us all 🙏💗 Thanks for sharing your thoughts and videos Rodney

My ryobi is in the second year and still works perfectly. Runs good even in wet grass and believe me we get lots of rain here on the wet coast of Canada

thanks for info. Looking at an elec mower. in your opinion 7.6? battery vs to 10. Is the bigger mower worth the xtra 200+ dollars?

And you have to remember that echo is just coming out with the battery mower. If you need a problem fix you need to call echo and talk to them about the issues

It seems that my only choice is the Echo, unless there are other mowers with the individually adjusted wheels feature.

When I bought my battery powered mower I was torn between Kobalt and EGo. I went with the Kobolt, which has most of the same options, but runs on a 80V battery. I have had it for 3 years. I am very happy with the Kobolt. Although, Kobalt is hard to find, now that Lowes is starting to discontinue this line. I would definitely go with the EGo, if I were to replace the Kobalt.

Great stuff but you need to be around in a couple of years to review the latest and greatest 'cause the mower is the last thing I'm switching over to battery power. My 6.5 horse gas not only slices, dices, and mulches but it will eat small trees without losing a single rpm. lol When it goes (yes I will cry), I'll switch but not for now --I'm a happy camper. Great review and if EGO is still king of the hill I'll prolly grab one!

I would be interested to see your review of the Milwaukee cordless hedge trimmer. I was using my Echo gas trimmer, and a neighbor let me try his Milwaukee with a 9.0 mah battery. I want to see if my experience is similar to yours. There is something interesting about the cordless trimmer that I wasn't expecting.

I find no mention anywhere that the deck for the CLM58 (the Echo) looks incredibly like Honda's HRX NeXite deck. Heck, the bottom shot in the moulding looks like there's mounts for a mower engine. Also, the advantage of adjusting the wheels independently allows the user to recline the deck back for leaf pickup in the fall.

I have the Ego mower, and my one complaint is that when in the drive mode, it wants to “pop a wheelie,” leading to an uneven cut. To keep that from happening, I don’t set the speed at its fastest.

I'm shopping for a battery powered mower to replace an old gas powered mower, I've checked out both EGO and RYOBI and I still haven't decided yet
