You know who was really disrespected? Salamon. A rookie partner of a digidestined that appears, like, twice. And I understand her not appearing in Digimon Adventure that much because of Gatomon’s whole backstory, but why not have Gatomon dedigivolve at the beginning of 02? If you’re gonna make Gatomon way weaker and treat her as a rookie, make her a rookie!!!!
1. Can't reuse animation
2. Voice actor will need to rework their performance.
3. Tailmon/ gatomon was all ready heavily recognized in the serieses by the fan base

I maintain that Vikemon suits the Gomamon line as a mega much more than it does Shakkoumon. An ankylosaur and an angel making a dogu? Makes sense. That dogu becoming a hairy viking walrus? Why???
Agreed. It actually kinda infuriates me that they stuck with Vikemon for the 02 BEMemory when that was the perfect time to make the switch to ClavisAngemon or literally anything better than Vikemon.
Also a dogu made of metal. Mixture of Angemon and a monsters shell made of metal and weapons only make sense as slash angemon. How does an angel and a weapon make a walrus
@@DrWoc I have to agree with Karn that ClavisAngemon makes more sense. ClavisAngemon wears armor that looks similar to Shakkomon's shell and Shakkoumon is not "made of weapons," it shoots eye beams and launches explosive clay pigeons out of its waist (and summons a bird statue that emits a song? I'm not really familiar with the third attack, Sakimitama). SlashAngemon makes far less sense than ClavisAngemon here. Maybe if Shakkomon had floating swords it could control with telekinesis but it does not.
it was designed as a jogress between Shakkoumon & Zudomon. on the D3 Digi Vice, the mega level would be reached by jogressing 2 ultimates:
Paildramon + MetalGreymon = Imperialdramon (Dragon Mode)
DinoBeemon + MegaKabuterimon = GranKuwagamon
Silphymon + Garudamon = Valkyrimon
Shakkoumon + Zudomon = Vikemon
MagnaAngemon + WereGarurumon = Seraphimon
Angewomon + Lillymon = Magnadramon
I'm convinced that with the exception of Seraphimon & Magnadramon taking over leftovers to flesh out dead ends, the new mega digimon were designed with the jogress mechanic in mind.
@@MattwosRandomNonContentI believe they meant that Shakkoumon is made up of an angel and a spiky creature, not that Shakkoumon itself is that spiky creature. The dormant data from one if its halves could remanifest upon evolving to Mega as SlashAngemon. Sort of like how Silphymon isn't particularly angelic despite being formed partly from a holy digimon, whereas Valkyriemon has a much more pronounced sense of holy divinity around it.
When it comes to Pulsemon, the BIGGEST disrespect imo is Fenriloogamon Takemikazuchi. The mascot for the Vital Bracelet and it just becomes a sword for another Digimon
The worst pat of that is that it could have been Spadamon's mega instead.
The worst thing about the Appmon not appearing anywhere else is that they'd be far easier and more consistent to adapt than the Xros Wars Digimon. Appmon already are divided into four Grades, just like Digimon are in Levels, they translate perfectly (Standard/Child, Super/Adult, Perfect/Perfect, God/Ultimate). Just ignore the Appgattai gimmick (or have it in the DCG as an ability unique to them) and have them evolve normally, as they already did with the Xros Wars mons, and bam, they get to be a part of the wider franchise as they should've always been.
I would put Salamon up there too. Nothing wrong with Gatomon, but Salamon just isn't around as much. For story reasons, I get it. But it would've been refreshing had Adventure 2020 used Salamon more instead of making something up to have Champion as the base state. Only saw the Salamon to Gatomon evo sequence once and it wasn't even the full version. Speaking of lack of evo sequences, Minomon doesn't have one either.
Honestly the worst part about the disrespect fanart contest digimon got is like karn said, some dont even have art. Not having official art is one thing but not even having the original drawing or spritework? Not even a crayola stick figure on a napkin? Wut? How do you win an art contest with no art? Did they lose it? Run it through the wash? Did somebody at bandai make it up?

Yea I looked up "ハンターモン" -HUNTER×HUNTER (because I got a ton of Hunter×Hunter results for some reason) and found jack all. The citation on Wikimon's Bandai-Town FAX Service Digimon Illustration Contest page is a dead link too.
I didn't know Cyberdramon was a fan submission. And I agree with you about Hyokomon, Pulsemon, and Shakkoumon. Hyokomon would've been a great partner in Cyber Sleuth or Hacker's Memory. Pulsemon should've been Kiyoshiro's secondary partner instead of Ryudamon. Shakkoumon should digivolve to Jupitermon.

There was an Angel nerf during 02. Remember Magna getting thumped by Skullsatamon?
I think Kuramon line was done dirty. Now, you say, it's one of the most iconic villains! Yes, but IN OUR WAR GAME, the dude gets born, says "Hi" to the Digidestined, tries to get a snack by eating some data, then Agumon and Tentomon just attack the poor thing as Keramon with no warning or attempt to resolve things peacefully. They never even gave him a chance!
I still don't see how Vikemon would ever come from a jogress between Ankylomon and Angemon. It always looked to me as a Zudomon reaching its mega form using Shakkoumon as a stepping stone because the game from where it came from originally only used jogress as a progression mechanic. I get why plesiomon would come from Gomamon (if Gomamon stayed in a line closer to his base form, at least). But there's nothing in Vikemon that would ever come from the other two.
Hyokomon really is the most disrespected digimon. 100% agree with you that its such a cool and unique design and evo line and the fact that it STILL hasnt appeared anywhere is insane

I think Pulsemon is a fine number 1 pick. Because even in the products it is in, it got shafted. Couldn't bring Pulsemon from Pulse City over to the new app and the Pulsemon decks in the card game a more of a gimmick than reliable (outside of Shivamon). I am really hoping Shroudmon brings the much needed support to Pulsemon decks and that it gets it's time to shine in an anime, or at least the next Story game.
I fully agree that Appmon got done dirty! SO MANY APPMON fit perfectly in certain Digivolution lines. It's insane how many could act as the missing piece to make certain lines fully cohesive.

One Digimon I think got done dirty is Gumdramon, he's never gotten a Mega level, and it's Brave Snatcher form got fused with it's standard SM Mode as shown in it's appearance in the BE memory, so you can't even use that as the Mega anymore
Shakkoumon deserves a single Champion form, IMO. He just works so much better outside of Jogress.
I agree that Appmon are disrespected far too much and I hope that Appmon gets at least more attention like with the recent Digimon art featuring Gatchmon, Cameraman, and Pipomon. However, I still think that Appmon shouldn't be reintegrated into Digimon evolution lines, rather keep them as they are.
I would love if in the next big anime there were just X digimon and appmon walking around, like "yeah they're here too, no big deal"

Just got past the episodes with Spadamon in Adventure 2020 and fell in love with the little guy. Bandai Namco needs to give us a full evo line for him.

Interesting point about people complaining about ClavisAngemon being a Shakkoumon Mega because it's an X-Antibody, but they must not have gotten the news because it (and a few others like the Dracmon line) seem to have been retconed as NOT being natural X-Antibody carriers.
Most obvious in the card game where they're missing that trait, probably because the reference book doesn't categorise them as Xs anymore, not featured on X-antibody digimon lists.
It's weird because in the card game the death-x black purple dorumon line came out in the same set as the GranDracmon stuff. While they did synergise well the Dracmon stuff not being X-Antibody meant the deck was nerfed out the gate and waaay to clunky to perform. A real shame. Poor Grandracmon.
I was also sad that KaiserLeomon never got a sequence.
I loved Appmon and people hating on it makes me sad too.
But Pulsemon not being in Ghost Game? Definitely Heresy!
Bandai Namco also did Liollmon dirty. They gave us a Leomon Rookie that made the most sense (opposed to Elecmon) for a couple games then poof. Also making Baihumon a branching evo for Leomon (maybe Panjyamon) would have made sense.

Completely agree with these picks! My fav. picks that you chose to talk about were Jaegerlowemon/Kaiserleomon, the Hyokomon line, and Shakkoumon. I also want to add that I think Cyberdramon’s line should be added not because they don’t get representation, but like Jaegerlowemon there’s no Digivolution sequences for the line *at all*, not even Ryo Biomerging to Justimon, they just show up without notice.
I would also include Mach Leomon from Digimon Xros wars manga.
Many digimon from that manga got their profiles in reference book like Weddinmon, Shortmon, Luminamon, Luminamon Nene ver. (yup, that's a regular digimon), Atlur Ballistamon, Yaeger Dorulumon, Shooting Starmon, Raptor Sparrowmon, but Mach Leomon is forgotten.
Zanmetsumon is such a disrespect, it's so clearly Ghost Game's Ryudamon with an evolution influenced by the Gyukimon infection, but then it just... didn't
About the Argument about ClavisAngemon being a X-Antibody Digimon Considering it doesn't have that trait listed on the reference book anymore That argument might have no meaning to it anymore If that wasn't a mistake and they just removed it from the X-Antibody pool

I get clavisangemon is better consistency-wise for shakoumon but hear me out on slashangemon.
Clavis continues the defensive armored digimon idea nicely but slashangemon feels like a heavily armored knight tossing aside his gear to go full offense. Like gearfried the iron knight becoming gearfried the swordmaster in yugioh or rock lee tossing aside his body weights to fight gaara in naruto. Its cool af.
Imagine this:
Its shakoumons big moment in the newest movie. The enemy is strong. Shakoumon is beaten, his armor cracked, the fight nearly taken out of him when suddenly light shines through the cracks and a huge blade slices out from within, followed by another, and another and another and a flurry of crescent shaped shockwave slash animations shoot from within slicing whats left of shakoumons armor to bits and sending shards of armor at the enemy as slashangemon emerges from within. Heroically swinging his big sword arms and flying about on his blade wings before stopping to do a badass pose. All while a version of braveheart with traditional Japanese shamisen and drums mixed in plays. Kind of like renamons version of the matrix evolution theme had in tamers.
Slash angemon also fits iori/cody's love of kendo too. Hes literally perfect. Clavis angemon is based on a lock and key and the angels that guard the gates to heaven. What does that have to do with anything? Nada. No relavant meaning besides being an angel which fits only takeru and patamon. Boring. Plays it safe by sticking with a bulky armored design. Slashangemon is full of ioris warrior spirit and fits takeru and patamon by being an angel. Hes perfection. Clavis works in looks but slashangemon fits way more and wins by rule of cool as well.
The ghost game ginryu should've definitely become Zanmetsu. Considering our first outing with ryudamon was when it was corrupted by the gyukimon. So basically even though they healed it of the gyuki virus, it still mutated the data enough to not go into hisaryu.
Honestly think they could've incorporated Appmon into Ghost Game. Even goin as far as the All Eater having been Leviathan since it was already just an inferior Leviathan. Like even GulusGammamon reminds me of Shutmon to an extent, except was even better as a villain.
As for Regulumon, I feel like if they finally give em some love that they could go as far as giving it a name change. I personally don't like names that are similar, especially to the extent of Regulumon and Regulusmon. So I think a name change for Regulumon could be "Leolusmon" combining Leo since it's a Leomon evo, and its original name origin Regulus.

I read through the whole v-tamer manga earlier this year and as you said after seeing dominimon and callismon getting recognition, I'd love to see regulumon brought back

Appmon is SO GOOD, once you adjust to be like “oh so it’s digimon but different” for me just became SO incredible to watch, it did some arcs that digimon tried *tri cough cough* so much better
Fun fact: Armamon is very likely to be in the next Digimon TCG set. It's about the 7 Demon Lords and Legend arms...armamon and barbamon fuse. So it's likely.
I agree with the majority of these. Another part of the franchise I dislike is how they'll come up with variant versions of Digimon and then not give them a dedicated evo-line when the source Digimon does.
I would like to submit Palmon for the exact same reasons as Shakkoumon being the only member of the OG Adventure squad that DOESN'T get to have a "unique" mega having to share Rosemon with Lalamon
For that i would actually nominate Lalamon more than Palmon as her entire line was just such a lazy copy of Palmon to the point they used the mega that was already established for Lillymon(even if not in the Anime at the time)

Thank you for somebody else saying Appmon are Digimon and deserve cards! To be fair I think their digievolutions being so weird and different looking people are quick to dismiss them as being a weird spin off but really I liked what I saw of them....which isn't a lot because finding a Streaming service with episodes of Appmon is not an easy task.
Kind of a side tangent, since the digimon in question hasn't been done dirty as a whole, but in the Digimon TCG we still dont have the Fanbeemon line yet and the recent Rapidmon art showed Cannonbeemon being blown up in the background. Justice for the bees!

I was watching a youtube video that I think you can elaborate on or give a different take to. It's "If Kamen Riders Had Digimon Partners" by Hawkilles. He only gives them a rookie and doesn't really go into their lines besides zubamon so I thought you and your team could take a few kamen riders and give them digimon partners/full lines. I remember watching one of your lives and you said that you were watching/had had watched some kamen rider and with your connection to power rangers I think this would be a nice combination of the genre and digimon. Thank you for making my favorite digimon content!
Fumamon is the perfect evo for Uber BlackTailmon. I refuse to believe otherwise.
Starting to notice a trend in Adventure movies where every single one of them has to add a human character no one really cares about and a Digimon partner that exists to suffer and die pointlessly because the creators don't seem to understand the concept of a happy ending or not shoving in characters that feel like Mary Sue self-inserts that take over the story...
I don't think we need to worry about Regulumon not coming back just because of it's name being similar to Regulusmon, as there are a couple other digimon that have very similar names in the original Japanese, like Shakomon and Shakkoumon.
Zanmetsumon looks like a legit evolution of Raptordramon!

Well, for the Gammamon-evolutions, specifically Arcturusmon and Proximamon, the anime-team has stated before that they had no input and that, they commissioned Regulusmon and didn't learn of its other evolutions much earlier than the general public either, I'm willing to bet it's the same for the other Gammamon-DIM-evos and they're mostly a symptom of Bandai doing stuff on their own and selling it with the anime while not consulting with the anime-team at Toei.
Shakkoumons Mega Vikemon getting repurposed for Zudomon is probably due to a similar thing, Bandai came up with all the other Megas on their own, but when it came time to actually implement them, the Toei-team decided they liked Vikemon for Zudomon better. Similar was allegedly already a thing for Lalamon getting Rosemon instead of Lotusmon.
As for ClavisAngemon, it's not actually a natural carrier, we just falsely assumed it was.
Fact remains the same why make them for any purpose but the anime

I want some of my favorites to get more love lol Flamemon/Agunimon, (every Frontiers Digimon really lol) Gumdramon, Shokuomon, Submarimon, etc. I want more love in the video games at least…. AND everything to do with Frontiers, Appmon, Xros Wars, & Ghost Game because I wish the Digimon were more prevalent in games too. I love Gammamon so much!
If I can combine two done dirty mons: MailBirdramon would be a great Espimon evo. If Gammamon gets four options, he can have two

I'll always advocate for Spinomon and Dinorexmon( it'd nice if Bandai would stop squishing Dinorexmon's proportions in every medium except Survive)
before seekers, i can never imagine a digimon be treated that horribly like pulsemon. pulsemon has its own design theme and evolution settings in the encyclopedia, but he is put to be the underdog of another dog.
I'd like to add every bug digimon that by default evolves into Grandkwagamon simply because they don't have a proper mega of their own.

New Century made line for Armadimon - his perfect form is Brachimon and his ultimate form is Gomamon's alternate ultimate, Plesiomon.
Mine would be Gizamon (of course) because it has no own line, Drimogemon and Gorimon, because I think they're cool, but unused further than just random adult stage,
Still waiting for Earthdramon to get an official artwork... and what about Kunemon/Flymon evolution? It would be great to see this line completed...

One Digimon that get's completly disrespected: BlackGuilmon! It had 1 appearance, back in Battle Chronicles/Rumble Arena 2. No Referenz Book, no cards, barelly any artwork. Meanwhile the rest of it's line and black variants are all decently populare and pushed in releases by Bandai. Hell, it's regular form replaced it as the Rookie of it's main evoline
Pulsemon is my favorite digimon and it makes me so mad that i can’t really enjoy him anywhere.

Oh yeah, appmon's great. I love Eri and Dokamon. Moreso Eri. I love her gag of her politely taking off her shoes before rudely standing on a chair :)
BlackGuilmon would be my top pick. I love him and the whole BlackGuilmon line, but BG has shown up once as a hidden character in Rumble 2 and then once assan easily missable cameo on a recent card art.
So not sure if it'll be better to you, but I've done a bit with Buraimon and his evo line in Cyber Heroes. Though he kinda got the Leomon treatment. While another Leomon jumped all the way up to Heavyleomon. Also i still thank you for Olympus 12 and a few other lines to follow. I even used your purified Spirit evos. Keep up the good work man.
I wanna argue lopmon! lol not royally serious, but lopmon is one of my fav digis and Lopmon and their evolution line is always forced to be a villain digimon which ultimately means they get killed. Something that always saddens me. Now i don't have a ton of experience as far as the games, but i've watched since frontier and am ready to argue my point haha. Spoiler alert-
The digimovie with willis, lopmon was corrupted and turned evil to where it had to be killed and digiegged.
in digimon frontier for the first half of the series cherubimon(lopmon's evo) was the main bad guy, who was ultimately killed and digiegged only to find out in the second half that they weren't the main bad guy and was corrupted.
In tamers well...an evolution of lopmon starts as an evil digi, turns good-but you know...is reduced to being a digimon partner/ babysitter to henry's sister suzie who loves treating digimon like stuffed animals to hug to death. Arguably not a bad fate-especially compared to the others, but again was a villain, then a child's talking doll lol.
then Digimon survive, in the first playthrough, you see Shuuji abusing lopmon. This guy is always insulting him, training him harshly, and just treating the poor thing like crap. Eventually Lopmon and shuuji's negative emotions with the abuse gets so bad that they digivolve, eats shuuji and is in absolute agony up until the rest of the group kills them. Granted in new playthroughs you can change fate and get both lopmon and shuuji to be better partners, but shuuji feels a lingering guilt throughout the game because the abuse happens regardless.
my friend jokingly said that wizardmon should be on here because it seems like every time a wizardmon (or varient) is on screen they're just death fodder-but no. give some love to the brown and pink bunny-stop making them evil! Let them find happiness without suffering.

I genuinely believe that the Chronomon Holymode's evolution line was initially planned for Dawn/Dusk as the total number of digimon attainable is 397, and the the final prize of the final quest to be a Chicchimon that can only turn into Muchomon or Penguinmon, given to you from Chronomon, who can only be gotten through a Jogress while being friends with a Chicchimon.
Certain Rookie, Champion and Ultimate level digimon would have pushed that up to a solid 400.
Hyokomon absolutely needs another outing somewhere. It has such a great line and tbh looks like a partner digimon through and through

In a perfect world, I think the 02 ending should be retconned slightly and instead of giving the 02 cast's kids the same Digimon as their parents, they should have similar ones. I could personally see Yolei's daughter having Kyokomon as a partner, it kinda ties Hawkmon, Shurimon, Halsemon and Aquilamon together. I think that would be incredible!

Personally, I don't like any Angemon variant as a digivolution for Shakkoumon; it just feels like it would sideline Ankylomon too much. Vikemon doesn't seem great either, it just fits so much better for Ikkakumon and Zudomon. Valkyriemon feels perfect for Silphymon, and Shakkoumon deserves something equally fitting, and equally distinct from other Adventure partners.
My head canon for Shakkoumon is always digivolving to Shakamon
Give Ankylamon and Angemon justice plus upgrade for Shakkoumon holy aspect

I always feel Myotismon is done dirty. I mean yes, he was the major villain in Digimon Adventure and he is a partner in Digimon Survive but it would be neat if he had a better, less ugly and less bulky evolutions and what if he had a redeemable evolutions where he isn't evil anymore and became a good Myotismon. I'm not saying like Angemon but like evolutions of his own. His rookie and champion levels were the devimon line and that's just...lazy. He should have his own evolutions and different branches and a better design evolution. Same with Puppetmon, which I felt should have had a toy or puppet themed evolution, instead of just Woodmon to Cherrymon thing.
Holydigitamamon is also interesting because a Devidigitamamon exists.

One i would add are all the Bancho Digimon other than Leomon. BanchoLeomon shows up in goddamn everything but the other Banchos never get any outings in anything. Stingmon was allowed outside to be in one game with Survive. Mamemon had ONE Episode in the Anime it was allowed to show up in and don't get me started on my Girl BanchoLIllymon who was a limited Digimon in a mobile game that is now offline same as Golemon. I think it is just really unfortunate that out of all of them only BanchoLeomon gets used so heavily while the others a completely left in the dust.
The digimon card game still have the rookie champion ultimate mega etc as part of their card it in the tags along side the attributes and types not just level for example on the card shoutmon king version which is the shoutmon that appears in hunters counts it as a champion in it tag for some reason yggdrasil is counted as a mega on it card
Yes but it's a tag not part of the core evolution structure, it's the same as "Xros Heart" or "Free". A card could specify a "Rookie" tag but all default evolution requirements go off Level not tags.
