1. We didn't need to cut or interfere with exhaust at all. 2. Unsure why you cut the motor mount crossmember-traverse bolts. There is more clearance bw motor mount & exhaust on our 1990 model.
I cut it because it was all rusty and I want to change it. Moreover, it is well visible from the video that had been badly patched up (not by me). The motor mount crossmember-traverse bolts were corroded, useless.
What size were the bolts for attaching the transfer case to the transmission?
Always taught to soak nuts and bolts for about 2 days before tackling them. Especially on rusted and or 20 year old vehicles.
Bolts and nuts were compromised by corrosion. I cut them to make my work easier. Obviously I replaced them with new bolts and nuts.
Spraying a little lubricant into the rubber exhaust mounts really helps to remove them.
Even gear wrenches would make your jobs more time efficient.
