Fun fact. Tupac wrote this song for MC Hammer and this was the reference track. Mc hammer did record and release the song w the same name. Not a song to react to, but as a tupac fan, a must listen to compare the passion between both versions, pac is on a level of his own. This reference track was so great they had to officially release it on his greatest hits album.
Here’s my interpretation. 1st verse- talking to his mom. 2nd verse- talking to the friends. 3rd verse- I think he is talking to himself. It sounds like a relationship at the end, but it’s definitely a personal conversation. And those are the 3 groups you can love unconditionally. Mom, Friends, You.

There are certain artists voice that you just gravitate towards to like a magnet. Pac was one of those powerful voices that is so powerful and unforgettable.

As good as this song is, I NEVER liked the video.. I always thought that the director didn’t capture the essence of what pac was trying to portray in his lyrics, instead he went the commercial route..
That's not the real video bc the song never had a video😏
