Hello Sunny, if you send me the dimensions I will be very happy to fesign you a 3D printed mount for the electronics inside the system. That also screw into the holes of the casing. Or better a top down picture of all the parts with a metric ruler will be fine. Id be happy to do it
@@NicVandEmZ yes but those screens are crap, there’s always burn in from the power supply and dust spots. If you don’t mind the it, you can find a 5k screen for under $150 with cracked on the corner and doesn’t effect the picture like the one I have.
If only the M1 Mini had two sodimms and a nvme slot I would buy one. Sadly, we all know that isn't going to happen. I just imagine that Mac Mini is basically like the stuff I buy that's listed as Open Box. Doesn't keep me from buying them and saving the money, I'm way too cheap not to if I can get my money back.

M1's memory performance isn't because it uses a special type of RAM, it comes from how that RAM is managed and accessed (the "unified memory architecture"), where any subsystem (CPU, GPU, etc.) can access the same data without having to copy it over to its own dedicated memory first. There is no reason why that same system couldn't be used with external RAM. And it doesn't even have to be the same type of RAM, either; additional DDR5 (non-LP) memory controllers could be added. This is exactly how memory bandwidth on the M1 Max is double that of the M1 Pro - it has four memory controllers instead of two.

AMAZING!!!!! :) I bought a top of the line Intel iMac 27" in 2020, because I needed a computer, and had a girlfriend that worked for Apple, and saved me over 700€. It still works great, but now that my MacBook Pro died, I´m playing on getting a MacBook Pro M2 Pro, or M3 Pro. I figure my 2020 iMac 27" should last a few more years, and then maybe I´ll find someone to convert it to an M2 Pro. :)
I wonder if you could take the screen calibration profile for the iMac and put it on the Mac mini, not sure how if the colours would still be accurate using the separate display drive tho

The side of a backlight wire doesn't matter, works both sides since one is for the upper and the other for the lower backlight
