The greatest instrumental group ever. No other group come close to play guitar music like Ventures. I adored them since 60s, as a teenager growing up in Sri Lanka. After 60 years I still get goose bumps when I listening to Ventures. Noki was unbelievable! There will never be a group like Ventures again. They were the best. Thanks Ventures for making sure beautiful sounds!🤗

Rest in peace Gerry. You were such a kind person. Bob was a master. He was a patient teacher. Mel was a fun hang... was open to everyone at the Palomino... and was engaged and interested. I learned a lot from him... and Don was hilarious. When he signed my album cover he started telling me a story about the model on the front and I laughed until my eyes watered. Amazing spirit.

Don Wilson was pictured on the cover of their second album, with a 1958 Fender Stratocaster, cherry sunburst with a maple board. Bassist had the same version Precision Bass.

ノーキーと　ジェリーがいないべンチャーズは　もう　べンチャーズでは無い❗

ベンチャーズを立ち上げたのはドンとボブの二人なのに？この二人にノーキーとメル・テイラーを加えた4人をオリジナル・フォーとか言ったりするけれど、メルは確か3代目のドラマー。初代は高校生で後の空軍中将。ロジスティック部隊のトップ司令官だったと思う。
オリジナルの意味って何だろうって思うよね。ノーキーとジェリーは後年になるまで一緒にプレイしたことがなかった。ノーキーが出てジェリーが加わり、ノーキーが戻ってジェリーが出たり・・・。この時、メルがジェリーを連れてベンチャーズを出たんじゃなかったかな。後任ドラマーの麻薬事件で、スーパーのレジ店員をやっていたメルが呼び戻された。
オリジナル曲は少ないけれど（ジェリー加入後、日本向けにつくられた曲は別格だけれど）、優れたバンドだったと思います。もう何十年聞き続けているだろう、としばし思います。ま、お互いに楽しみ続けましょう！
