Eileen W never be scared to scream when your singing. I mean do it when your home alone just sing with all your voice and it wouldn't crack as much :) Just don't overdo it. Do it like twice a week. Trust me, it helped me a lot!

This was good but they should also note that harmony doesn't have to be higher than the melody, it can be lower because most, not all, but most melodies are soprano and a lot of harmony is alto

paris peterson idk how much you know about music but the notes go a,b,c,d,e,f,g then repeat. So someone who has a deep voice sings a deeper “a”note. But then if someone has a higher voice they would also sing an “a” note. So their both singing the “a” note just at different pitches
That’s why when their singing one of hem goes way higher or way lower. Because let’s say one of them sings the notes “ a,f,e” then that means the other one has to either sing those notes in another note range
Maria..k Actually that's not harmonising that's just singing the song in a different octave. Harmonising would be singing using a note which would sound good depending on the scale.
Stephanie Hb thanks for pointing that out. As a musician it really grinds my gears when people get harmonising and octaves mixed up!
An easy way to harmonise is to go 2 notes above or below the singer

I've always harmonized to Spotify songs when I listen to them (I do it subconsciously and my friends hate it bahaha)
Also you could try to do this again but harmonizing below the standard notes rather than just going on the same tune on the third octave
