- I have received the Tarot of Holy Spectrum many months ago. I have unwrapped it, but I have never shuffled it. It was laying there in the drawer patiently waiting for its time. And now, finally, the time has come to get myself introduced to it. I have always been drawn to the simple and direct images. Not sure what have scared me at first. Was it the bright colors dedicated to each card that I wasn’t able to intuitively draw connection with, was it the unexpected grainy background, or was it the oily prints from my fingers constantly being left on the unforgiven black matte backs? Despite all these little distractions, it is a beautiful deck that can speak loud and clear. It is mainly based on RWS system, but I do like how some of the images were presented by the artist in a slight different way to convey the meaning of the card in even deeper meaning. I am for sure interested to give it a chance and try to develop a bond. I do wish it came with a guide book that would give me some background on the artistic concept behind the color choices decided by the creator for the specific cards.

Also, on the same website there is a short explanation about the idea behind the deck from creator Chase Voorhees; however, not as nearly in depth as I have hoped for. It manly refers to creator’s intuition and teachings that influenced him on the way. I mean the colors do look good and they do follow spectrum when laid out in the order of each suit, but I was looking for a little bit more then that in order to be able to connect and understand the deck better.

With a bit more research I was able to find two links to the podcasts with a Chase Voorhees that provide more insight on some of the questions mentioned above. I would strongly recommend listening to them if you are seeking to connect and understand the story behind the deck.

I truly love this deck. Well, 99% of it anyway! It's beautiful. The art, the colours, the simplicity; all perfect. But gosh do I dislike that Devil card, so much so that it was a deal breaker for me.
I could see how this might happen. The deck comes with completely blank card, black on both sides. Could potentially act as a substitute. Technically it allows you to imagine your own Devil.
