Hey! You sound reeaally good. You got all the notes and rhythms down, and I appreciate the fact that you chose to learn this etude at a reasonable tempo, rather than jumping into it really fast and ending up with sloppy fingers. Your tone is phenomenal; I rarely hear other ppl especially in high school with a tone as clear and dark as yours (it's something I struggle with personally lol). The feedback I'm gonna give you is really nitpicky, but it's just a few small things I heard that could make this even better. Firstly I would work on the 32nd note runs in measure 14. Although you are getting all the notes in, I hear a little bit of compression, and the 3rd note of each group of 32nds (I think) isn't getting all the value it should. Imo it's important to make these runs as solid as possible at this tempo, so when you speed it up, your muscle memory will kick in and it'll just be light work for you. I think the cause of this (for the second run in 14) is that you're anticipating that jump from the B flat down to the F (which is difficult to begin with) so you're trying to get that note out a little too fast and it's making that A right before it almost nonexistent. Another tip is that in the meno mosso section, at the end of measure 22, I would hold that high D out a bit longer, and take a second to breathe. Although it's still in time, if I'm a judge or even just a listener, I'd wanna appreciate every bit of your tone color on that altissimo note, since getting any altissimo note to be in tune and sound as dark as you're making it is pretty dang difficult. At first I thought you chose to do that because you had a silent metronome going on or smth, which you couldn't afford to get off with, but then I heard you pause after a couple other breath marks later on in the etude, so if I were you, I'd definitely do that here. Other than that, I really couldn't find anything else that stood out to me. I have no clue what area ur in, (ik it's somewhere in Texas tho lmao), but playing all of your etudes like you did this one would easily allow you to advance to area, at least where I live. I wish you the best of luck, and happy practicing! :)

Cool thanks! I’ve heard others play the meno mosso D longer, I’ve been doing it short for some time now and I my private lesson teacher is very picky about that stuff, but I can definitely ask about it! I’ll definitely keep in mind about the 32nd notes! Thanks for your feedback!

My friend got into ILMEA for clarinet and my other friend got in for trumpet but I didn’t audition because I forgot to practice the music for audition and it was in a weird key for my instrument

Thank you! Practice slow, and work on tone. I found that very helpful during my practice sessions

@@aestheticgirl444 practice long tones everyday, work on tonguing excersises really making sure you’re accurate where you place the tongue, no matter the note. And play everything SLOW. Really work on your technique and you’ll get the music down a lot easier that way.
