I never even attempted free-hand figure drawing before coming across this video. I definitely surprised myself and it didn't look half bad! Thank you for sharing this technique, it was a real joy to do!
That’s so good you gave it ago! I’m glad that you’re happy with your work 😊
This tip helped SO much! Legit tried it today and my sketches compared to the other day have drastically improved. Thanks so much for sharing this
So good to hear! Keep up the great work👍🏼
For those who did not understand:
Step 1: Draw the dots.
Step 2: Draw the sketch.
And viola you are a certified artist.
Can you say f-a-c-e-t-i-o-u-s ?
I’m still confused about the dots. I feel like I’ll end up doing it wrong.
Wow, I can imagine the placement of every limbs and the models' pose just from the dots. Thank you, this so helpful!
This is a game changer for portfolio builders.
Thanks you so much for the demonstration.
This has been GAME CHANGING!! I have always been so intimidated by figure forms and getting the proportions correct. Thank you thank you!!
I really love this kind of sketches, I'm gonna grab a small sketchbook just to fill with this kind of quick drawings! Absolutely amazing, thank you!
I’ve just found your channel and I really love your videos. They’re so helpful and your style is very inspiring!
I have always had problems with sitting figures. This was a great help.
What an easy and great method. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you so much! I used to draw anything that wasn't human, but I'm planning to be a concept artist when I'm older and this helped a bunch! :)
I will certainly have to try this technique. Thanks for sharing!
thank you so much for these tips, Scottie! I remembered another cool artist I look up to use these tips for his approach to ink sketching and your guide has been a wonderful help to keep in mind! It’s a fun approach that’s also applicable to other subject matters as well, Hope I can improve my ink drawing abilities so I can continue enjoying the process more freely and share my love for drawing with others too!
Love the simple efficient analysis, easily and cleanly applied! TY
I love learning from other artists- thanks for the great tips!!
His voice is so relaxing, ❤
Thank you. That was really helpful. Starting to sketch again after years, so needed such tips!
Best sketching tips for people i have ever come across😊😊😊
This is so helpful. I love to watch you sketch and I’m definitely going to practice this. Thanks so much
That's awesome to hear🙌🏼
This is brilliant. Thank you so much for this lesson.
I love how causal looking this style is :)
That was really helpful, thank you.
One problem I tend to have is that without the security of line such as you display here, it is still difficult to get some satisfying results, especially at such sketch-outlines.
I have learning difficulties and this was very helpful & this also Inspired me to continue pursuing my passion… thank you!! ❤️
This was brilliant, I'm sketching again after 16 years and to say I'm rusty would be an understatement.
Today we were tasked with sketching a live model, and boy was I struggling to figure out how to best capture his proportions.
I'll definitely be trying to develop using your technique as it seems it'll be very useful, especially with enough practice.
Thank you so much for this. I dread sketching people, and your style and tips definitely makes it simpler. Cheers
That’s great to hear!👍🏼
This is such a valuable video, really helped me refresh on my sketching.
Cool techniques for sketching PEOPLE in no time! Gonna try this out and see if I can improve my sketching skills. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for another great lesson. Simply explained and beautifully illustrated. All I need now is a lot more practice. Thank you Scotty.
Thanks a lot! All the best 👍🏼
This is soooo helpful, I work best when theres a pattern or system in place - and this is perfect!!! Thankyou
Thanks! This should help me with drawing semi abstract figures for my backgrounds.
Great way to work things out!! Wish I knew this when I was teaching: my students would have loved it!
What an amazing video. You get straight to the point, show fantastic (and varied) examples, and you make it look so easy. I can't wait to try this later.
Such helpful explanations! Thank you!!
Omg your so talented and I’m extremely envious
Just came across this channel and I like your drawing style

It's pleasure to watch your video which is different style which helps to draw fast and accurate drawing of people.
Excellent tutorial! Providing the pinned reference photo is very helpful.
Thanks! Glad you liked them
this is so satisfying! and the best part is that THIS WORKS SO WELL!!!
thank you so much!!!
😊 that’s great to hear!
Not counting your intro you drew this man within 4 minutes. I am so glad I came across your video. This is the kind of people drawing I'd like to get better at completing. I've been trying to include all the details thinking that would make the figure recognizable, but by watching your video I should include fewer details and stick to a more basic drawing as you show here. You make it look soo easy, and I thank you for sharing. You've given me hope that I can learn your style for my personal use.
That's great to hear! Yes sometimes sketching the bigger shapes first and not getting too stuck in the details is the way to go👍🏼
i just found your channel and your videos are so helpful, i love your art style!
thanks Rylee and welcome to the channel!
You made everything looks so easy 😮❤

Omg!!! This is really helpful to me.Thanks you so much for sharing these technics.
You should do a Domestika course :P
😊 that would be cool!
That’s correct… you would be a good instructor at Domestika… 😊
Wow🤔It:s a matter of practice and Proportions...you're a good teacher this helps me. Thanks master❤
Same thought
Or a Proko :D
Love it!
Super tutorials. I've been taking a figure drawing class, and was taught the traditional approach of the stick figure and the bone structure. Spending 10 minutes learning your 4 dots is worth 3 months of classes I had. The light color washes at the end are very nice too. FWIW I prefer using a fountain pen to get some variations in the lines instead of using a marker. In any case, I subscribed and have to remember to check your tutorials often. I learn a lot for sure.
That's great to hear this method has helped you! Thanks for watching😊
Woooooow you are so talented ! The best teacher ! Thank you !!!!❤
So helpful!

wow, that's actually cool
love your sketches, man!! :))
REALLY helpful. Thanks very much
love the technique
Wow! That’s really helpful 👏
This is great. I am learning that proportion is so key. It can really free up your creativity in a way. I understand the method for figure standing up. I am struggling a bit with the sitting down. From what I understand it's head to knees, knees to feet that determine spacing? So any angle really from head to knee determines the directionality of the lines. I think I may have just answered my own question 😂
Great video, very insightful and I learnt a lot! 😀
Thank you
beautiful sketches!
Just found your channel today. Loved it!
Welcome Sherry!
This is super helpful! Thanks a tonnn
God bless you bro. thanks a lot!!
