If you're looking for a deeper dive, you'll find that over on the EV Buyers Guide channel. Why two videos? Nice hatchback. Great effort by Genesis. Seats look comfortable, and the interior is cool, IMO. Exterior is a nice departure from the other Genesis products; I think this looks better on the smaller GV 60. Genisis is a very quality car company and this 60 is beautiful however, I bought a new Toyota Venza hybrid a few months ago and the interior is much more inviting in the Venza and it’s handling and performance is certainly agile. Toyota offers a full drivetrain warranty that is active for as long as you own the car. I don’t see many Venza on the road, For some reason Toyota isn’t shipping that many to the states but it’s worth the wait!!!

      The fully spec’d entry model in the UK - “The Premium” RWD 229PS WTLP 321 miles 0-62mph 7.8 seconds ( but feels much faster than that due to the available torque) is just £58,500. I’ve excluded the digital wing mirrors I doubt they’ll be popular in the UK.
      And for that you get amazing tech - full OTA updates, V2L, HDA2 with auto lane change, 3D parking cameras, self parking, summon feature, fast charging 10-80% in 18 minutes on a 350Kw device, B&O audio system with noise cancellation , heated ( front and rear seats ) and ventilated front seats, double glazed glass front and rear, rear side blinds and rear reclining seats and a luxury feel which is amazing suede headlining, Nappa leather seats and virtually all the metal looking trim is actually metal.
      Feature for feature I think it’s the best family SUV EV under £100,000! And look at its price! I’ll agree it’s not a track day or sports car- certainly not in its RWD only guise.

    Luxury and less than three hundred miles range do not belong in the same sentence. 235 miles of range is great, for 2017. • @Antiguan_Dart
      @Antiguan_Dart Před rokem

      The RWD entry level version available in the UK and some other parts of the world - The Premium is a more compelling choice with 229PS, 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds ( feels faster than that due to the available torque ) has WLTP combined of 321 miles. Real world about 280. I got 252 miles 100%-5% SOC motorway 70-75 mph driving! The GV60 is not a track or sports car (it’s too tall with too much ground clearance 16 cm) but as a luxury (with the near full suite of options) family SUV it is worthy of consideration.

    Thanks for calling it a hatch. It's a hatch, no matter how much they try to brand these things "SUV". It's funny how americans actually DO want hatchbacks, as long as you don't call them hatchbacks.

      Can I recommend seeing it in the flesh. I originally had issue with the grill but in person the whole thing grew on me very quickly. And with the Comfort Pack the interior is truly luxurious. Suede, Nappa leather, metal trim garnish and virtually all the trim
      that looks like metal
      is metal- metal mid-speak speaker grills on the upper front doors!

    Love what Genesis is doing. They are investing heavily in making their cars great
    Which makes them investing almost nothing in their dealership, advertising and branding all the more confounding, and counter-productive. They learned almost nothing from Lexus. 😕

    For this to be a luxury EV I’m not sure what’s less inspiring, the front fascia or the rear end of this car. Certainly a phoned in design. There are Mazdas with better proportions and Hyundais with more attractive side profiles. The more I see this car the less cohesive and less attractive it is. Very unintuitive interior design with mirror controls built into the grab handle, a touch screen for HVAC controls and a infotainment display that appears to be a nice reach from both the driver _and_ front passenger. The gear selector is ugly, reminiscent of a old fashion rotary dial telephone, absolutely unnecessary and over-engineered pieces that you have to rely on every time you enter the vehicle. The car looks like it was a concept that the product manager accidentally ok’d for production. I feel like at this point Genesis designers believe they can’t do any wrong because bringing something to market that looks like this honestly feels like they’re pulling my leg. This comes across very goofy and I can’t take Genesis seriously with this kind of design language, especially compared to the EVs that Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi are putting out. GV60 literally looks like a toy car in comparison but with a grown man’s price tag. I’ll pass.

    This is straight ugly, if I'm honest. Also, in my unnecessary opinion, small is height first, then length. This is taller than most sedans so it's definitely not the smallest vehicle they make, but that's really only in the title. To my eyes, this is absolutely more crossover than car.
