audible should be paying Jocko millions to read audiobooks
Chris I agree I discovered LT. Com. Willink about a week ago. He has been an inspiration in my like telling it......How would a say a more modern way of saying the hard things ; the way my Grand-dad would tell me how to approach life.( God, Country, Family) The war stories remind me of my Grand-dad (Army Bataan Death march Survivor), and the times he would tell me bout those things(rarely) from time to time.
I'd pay for him to read Dr Seuss books. 'Hop on Pop'......
Is there a conversation anywhere between he and Pat McNamara?
DEEP MMA & BOXING your stupid
Do you understand the ramifications of such a thing ..im talking about the amount of testastrone that will be released into the world 💪
I picture 16 YO Jocko calling his Wendys shift Task Force Burger
When your first instructor was a redhead 🤣
Jocko “the baconator”
Jocko can probably write a 5 paragraph order on how to make a baconator
Classic
Not only that but did you know that the Manager of said Wendy's would submit the schedule every week to 16 year old Jocko for his approval. It's true!
You just can't America any better.
Love that^^ Semper Fi
OK I’m stealing that one
Smells like victory when i hit play
Andy Stumpf's articulation is just so... if he started a podcast, many would listen. He's someone I could enjoy listening to.
He has one. It’s called Cleared Hot.
Was this sarcasm? Did you not know about cleared hot? I can hardly tell if people are trolling or not on here but if you haven’t seen it, cleared hot is amazing. He has some really amazing guests from development group on there you normally wouldn’t hear from otherwise.
Loved his answer about the prisoners at GITMO when he was on JRE with Tait Fletcher. Joe asked what about the prisoner that's been at GITMO for years? Do we send him back now? Andy says "No we kill him" Tait Fletcher says "you just killed Nelson Mandela" Andy's like "what"? Wrong. He's no Nelson Mandela smfh.
@@markwurz8577 thanks , didn’t know that. I’ll check it out
5 Bronze Stars with Combat "V"... Medically discharged as a result of a culmination of injuries over years which included gunshots and IED blasts...
I needed to hear this podcast. I'm a wounded vet with a pill and alcohol problem.
Mike brother hang in there, your body will heal, it just takes time and effort. Try to sleep 8hrs per day, go to bed early, wake up early. Eat nutrition dense foods. Move the limb or body part you have injured. Try some cannabis edibles for your pain control. If you are not disable or in too much pain workout hard 3-4 times per week in a cross training like setting. Dont give up.
sorry to hear that and more sorry that you enlisted in the military
Mike keep your head up. Recovering addict here. It does get better. If you need someone to talk to just respond to this and I’ll give u my contact info.
you only need to beat today. do that and then do it again tomorrow. only one day, day after day, before you know it it will be weeks, months, years.
forwards, always forwards. one day at a time.
Hang in there mike keep your head up
I like him. He’s articulate and comes off as respectful and genuine.
I literally have to use the discipline he teaches to stop watching these podcast to get my college work done.
thank you for service
Gregory Ferguson I have the same issue
Same.
LOL! Same here dude!
F... work, this podcast first...😛😛😁
I right around the same age as Andy. When he was signing that military contract I was getting kicked out of high school, dropping acid, smoking weed, selling drugs to make money to do drugs and just being a general malcontent. At least I became an Infantryman later in life and did my service.
Keep at it brother
this is about a year late, but i have so much respect for you my brother. more respect than many people i can find in a comment section. i almost dropped out of high school and became a disappointment to my immigrant mother and family who came here for a better life for me. i was a loser and smoked weed and did nothing until one day something snapped- and i graduated high school in my last year with a 2.9 and am currently enlisting in the army as a 19D Cav Scout. its everyday folks like you who inspire me- god bless you my brother.
Yooo I love lsd if ur in Seattle area let's trip. Sendin my packet this year
Semper Fi, brudda
Victor Ortiz hey I haven’t served yet but I’m thinking about joining. Are you tryna trip with me? I’m in Seattle
I needed this. It might be too much for such a public forum, but i have been having similar struggles as Andy since i was medically discharged, and daily i feel like nothing i will do will matter after being a warfighter, albeit a warfighter far less skilled than jocko or andy. it just made me realize that even in this struggle, i am not alone. Thank you Andy, Jocko, and Echo.
Austin Buske you are not alone brother. I hope your still hanging on. Jocko and Tim Kennedy helped me get my warrior back. reawaken what was inside I pushed down. moving towards reenlistment now. I don't know your circumstances, nor do I know you but I am praying for you!
Austin Buske Thank you for you’re service and sacrifice for America! USN 89-95 F-14 AO-3
Semper fi, brother. We have to find things that matter, make them matter. The success of my family is what matters to me now. That means that I get up, train, eat, get to work and get home to make sure that the fam is moving forward. I pour my energy into that the same way I poured myself into the Marines.
Austin Buske how are you doing these days?
wont matter as much* - besides, you matter.
I've listened to Andy on a few different podcasts and interviews, this is the first time I've heard him talk about how he was injured and the first time I heard he was an officer. That is humility.
Learning to be humble was one of the best things I learned so far in the military.
The man is one of the most humble savages ever. SEAL team 6, a part of 2 very high profile rescues, etc., and constantly says he had an "average" military career. If average is doing what 95% of the military doesn't/can't, then sure, it was average. Haha. But it just shows his level of intelligence and maturity.
@@richardmathes4383 2 hostage rescues? Jessica Lynch is one. What is the other?
Andy Stumpf is the man! The guy is a machine and a great dude
Be quick to open your eyes, but be slow to open your mouth
@@aalagao5872 can you elaborate. curious what you mean. Can't it's been 3 years since this vid came out. time flies
Andy Stumpf is the man! The guy is a machine and a great dude
I think he means stumpf is a down to earth guy. No ego at all.
Wow these last podcasts have been incredible, I just want to thank everyone that works on these, its truly changed my way of thinking.
52:40 I was injured in the line of duty in the mid nineties.... Almost 40 surgeries later, still not fixed. Chronic pain 24 hours a day. And find myself walking on a hospital floor by rooms with people a hundred times worse than me. Leaving that place telling yourself suck it up buttercup you have no right to complain, people have it a ton worse than you. I find the whole experience therapeutic as hell. God bless our service member's past and present, LEO's and 1st responder(s) everywhere.
I know andy Stumpf.....a warrior indeed with great integrity!!! Jocko....echo....one of the best podcast i have heard!!! Coach b
Two of my best spent hours in a very long time! The letter at the beginning is beyond remarkable . The story of overcoming injury and redirecting yourselves after injury and wounds kicked me in the backside. I have spent years wallowing in self pity and doubt over a medical disability that rocked my world but I CAN work around it. Thank you, I have been crushing nothing.
Hearing about how poor the medical care Andy received pisses me off. In 1989 I was a flight trauma paramedic in Portland Oregon and our trauma center care is stellar. This was almost TWENTY years later. WTH!? I’m so so sorry.
I am 26 years old living in Santa Cruz. Been here for 4 years. Originally from Redding CA. New Subscriber. Thankyou Jocko, Echo, and Guests.
I'd like to see a picture of Jocko in a Wendy's uniform
I can only picture current Jocko in a Wendy’s uniform handing me my order that’s blatantly wrong and me just nodding and accepting.
@@chinqlinq89 lmao

@@chinqlinq89 GOOD
I'd -like- *pay* to see a picture of Jocko in a Wendy's uniform (Fixed it for you)
I can't believe this is 5 years old already. Holy hell, time flies.
Jocko, just listened to this one again. It is by far one of my favorite episodes. Andy has a way of being honest and humble at the same time. I'm sure I'll listen to this one many times more. Great episode.
I’ve heard Jocko read Andy’s letter several times. And each time it shakes me to the core.
As someone who was never there, I can only imagine the impact of these words has on those that were.
Jocko and Echo: You both are my greatest inspiration and this podcast is a debt I cannot repay. I love you both and hope someday you will get into public office! Signed: a Vietnam War Veteran. Out.
23:45. Kinda want to see SEAL sandcastle building competition now.
"You have to be a sponge and suck up knowledge" ~ Andy Stumpf. Great attitude, would have been fabulous to have had a case of that at 18...
Andy seems like such a great dude! Definitely one of the man who solidified the career choice I have! Andy, thank you brother… a million times over, thank you
These podcasts should be mandatory at our public schools.
@Trolley The Troll tell that to the libs
Every podcast is my favorite podcast. It's an honor to hear stories from real heroes.
Andy’s military injury story is tragic, more Americans need to know about that, it certainly taught me that I am lucky we have these guys and any military individual. Thank you to these brave Men and women who fight for our country!
Gave me chills - and made me quake. Thank you all for your honorable service!
I WILL NEVER FORGET THE SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN WHO GAVE UP THEIR LIVES FOR US, FOR OUR FREEDOM. GOD BLESS THEM AND ALL WHO SERVED.
I seriously don't get how people think that the military is fighting for "our freedom". That's just rubbish.
Heresy? First off, I am a veteran, so I'm not anti- military. In fact, my eldest is a USMC Captain.
Our guys in the military are some of the best and brightest our country has to offer, so it's not a knock on them personally. I love the guys I served with and always will, but.....
There's no fighting for freedom. Take a good frigging look and tell me, heck tell YOURSELF that you're more free today than we were in 1980. Not a chance. Since 9/11, this country has become less and less free and it's getting worse.
The military is full of great guys, but they aren't keeping anyone free
Andy is so well spoken, so much fun to listen to.
This is how leaders are made.
They’re ambitious, intelligent and articulate.
Great podcast of amazing leaders in the seal community. We are lucky for access to this kind of free talk. Thank you men for being genuine and sharing your experiences with authenticity.
Such a beautiful tribute, keep writing, keep reading aloud, and thank you all for your service!
jocko i love your podcasts sir, you and Andy both have such amazing stories, im 28 and was in a pathetic stage for the last ten years of life due to drugs, you and adam browns perspective on life have made me realize that i need to get my shit together and stop blaming, and making excuses, you truely are an inspiration to me and andy now also, its made me consider joining and serving my country, if theyll let me..thank you all sincerely..Lane Lilly, West Virginia
Powerful beginning, I was 45 mins into the podcast when the CZcams video pinged up. I thought, lets start again
Hearing Andy and Jocko talk about the PowerPoint Icons and Font made me laugh...~1:17:00 in. I love the Dirt Fish Rally School cap Andy is wearing, adrenaline junkie! Thank you for your service and your continued efforts to support military families. The true sign of a badass human being is to remain humble when you have accomplished so much in life.
the reason I look forward to Wednesday. keep em coming, a lot of people look to this for many things. GET AFTER IT

Jocko gets so excited about the “teams”
I don't understand how I'm surprised to see this podcast every wednesday even though I know it's coming wednseday. For like 2 months now, everytime, "oh, OH SHIT!".

Yes!!!! Been waiting for an Andy Stumpf interview!!
Outstanding! Thank you for sharing these incredible stories! Thank you both, Gentlemen, for your service and sacrifices!
My goto podcast. Thank you all for your service to our amazing country. These stories of soldiers bring me to my knees in thanks.
That was probably the best functioning Wendy's in history. Probably the only Wendy's that ever opened for breakfast because Jocko would come in at 430.
When i listen to jockos voice on his podcasts I have to turn the bass down in my truck cause it rattles every empty can and vibrates through my soul lmao
Thank you so much I really appreciate you guys taking the time.
Thank you gentleman, I was also on neurontin after an accident in the Navy, fell through a hatch....oops
Shitty drug.....and Andy I so resonated with having to feel a purpose again. You people lift me.
Crapping my pants and forgetting who and where I was, night sweats, day sweats, painful erections, anxiety, mood swings, low libido, unable to "finish" sexual relations, flushing of the eyes, nose bleeds, stuffy nose, dry mouth, sneezing, occasional rambling, slurred speech, headaches, painful urination, pain in the legs and feet, depression, anger, frustration, testicular pain from; urge to masterbate (especially in public). This in NOT a complete list, this only covers the first 3 days on this medication. See the official website for a complete list of side effects.
Andy Stumpf and Jocko willink is team America 🇺🇸🇺🇸
57:00 This motivates me a lot, as a Scientist and past physical prime I can't give what you have blessed us with.
I used to get frustrated not understanding a problem. This gives me the motivation, working harder and improving, so that one day it can benefit someone.
One of the best podcasts ever. BZ gentlemen! Carry on!
just found this channel today and the intro got me. subscribed instatly. great pod cast guys.
I knew this one had to be coming, excited to see him on!
Andy's book is one of my all time favorites. Watching this episode for a second time this morning. Such a beautiful writter. ❤️🥺

Great podcast guys, love to hear the stories. Thank you both so much for all you have done and are continuing to give back
Awesome podcast! God bless you guys, continue to fight the good fight!
The Introduction was POWERFUL
1:04:45 is, to this day, one of my favorite stories on this podcast.
I love how fired up jocko gets from war stories. TEAMMZZZ
About the most articulate conversation I have ever heard between two guys about the military and service. Very informative.
You guys are great and are making america better by your conversations. Thx
Hard as nails. Respect to these guys. Reality is Real
I thought just being a patriot, and being honored to be an American, and being very thankful for our servicemen and women was enough but it is not. All i can do is live the best, humble life i can as an American and continue to support our Armed Forces and Veterans the best i can.
I love the Jocko Podcast and this has been my favorite episode.
Jocko for Congress, Echo for Dept of Jitsu
Andy for Dept of Understatements

Ain't nothing regular about Army Infantry
Andy stumpf was in devgru gold squadron he has a video where you can see the patch on his gear he kept, also a few photos of the whole team and you can see Andy in them
One of his officers who wrote his recommendation to be a limited duty officer ended up being the commanding officer of the Bin Laden raid
By the tone in which they say "East Coast Team" he was in DEVGRU?
Disregard found answer. Continue.
Andy was a legit Team 6 guy, that is why they are not specific on east coast west coast/devgru ect.
Indeed, he was gold squadron back in the day
Incorrect. Andy was at DevGru early in the GWOT. Gold Squadron.
Jocko was ST1&ST3 in his career. But never 6.
Why don't they bring up Team 6, Andy was in it for a while
This was back before Andy had made the rounds on the podcast circuit and started his own podcast. Early on he didn't dive too deep into the fact he was with the Command. He still doesn't really dive too deep into his DEVGRU time other than when he got wounded and a few other key missions.
another inspiring podcast. thanks for posting!
Man ,Jacko you have the ability to write and read a article that open the eyes of people who choose to keep them closed . You're words make my emotions go all over. This is great . I wish we had people like you running for office . It would be nice to have persons who earned respect and knowledge rather than demanding that what they have not earned . Even though this one wasn't you're letter . Still
Great podcast Jocko! At the 1:13 mark, you mention "dealing with the bureaucracy" and I think you hit a great point. You've given great guidance from a leadership perspective, but what about subordinates? As a young E3, dealing with the "hurry up and wait" and "work harder not smarter" was extremely frustrating and effected moral. Even now, as a civilian professional many of my fellow team-members and coworkers face the same dilemma of frustration and it can effect our performance. If you could elaborate more on this mental judo in dealing with ineffective leadership and bureaucracy and come up with a battle plan to overcome, I think that would make for a great discussion. Thank you, Sir!
Echo Charles needs to talk more in these things
