This is a fairly abstract watercolour and for many this will be quite large too. It is from a photo I took about a year ago in Blackpool in the UK. We were in Lancashire visiting family and had made the trip to the coast with the kids for the illuminations and fish and chips! Good fun!
This painting was painted on Rives BFK etching paper which can be found on the link below.
It was painted using winsor yellow, cerulean blue, mix of cobalt blue and light red and then a mix of cobalt turquoise with mix of cobalt blue and light red and then adding raw umber.
It was painted using a 2 inch holbein hake brush, a spray bottle and some tissues
It is available on www.scottswinson.com with free shipping
Happy Painting!

Rives BFK etching paper. Probably best to source this from your local store so you can look after the paper and not have it posted unless you are buying a large amount of paper and it will be looked after. There is nothing worse than getting hundreds of sheets all with a indent in them. Having said that you can actually source this paper from amazon:

Some people have been extremely happy with the state of the paper when it arrived (and some not!)
I love this paper it is soft and lights are lifted easily from it.

Thanks! A very beautiful sky while we were in Blackpool, UK. Quite lovely but actually not that complex. Good luck! Cheers Scott
Our California desert has some beautiful skies. I have a particular photo I would love to see how you paint it. I don't know how to post a photo on CZcams.
Hi Shannon, I replied to you yesterday but it didn’t go through! Feel free to email me a few photos and I will have a look at them and let you know if I think it will make a good painting or demonstration! My email is: scottswinson1@mac.com
👍🙏
Nice but don't like the hard edge on left of sun reflection in the water ...
I agree Ron! For some strange reason I don’t remember seeing that mark while I was painting but it is crazily obvious in the photo! I will get back into the studio tonight and have a look! It looks like a streak of white paint! Strange!! Thanks for watching! 👍
I agree. My eyes went there and stayed there.
8 Am EDT (eastern daylight saving time)? I live in Boston, US 😀
Hi Mr S. I really don't know what went wrong with the schedule of this video! It was meant to air tonight at 10pm. But for some reason you could see it! Hence why I decided to just make it public straight away? I'm still confused!
Yep. This is my favourite.
Thank you be blessed wonderful. Bborota
Thanks Barbara! Love a bit of light on the water!
I was curious to see you mixing your watercolor on the table, what is the substrate that you are mixing on plastic or something else, I have been painting out of bowls for years. Love your work
Hi Patricia! Yes the table top is a great way to go!! It is Aligloss from bunnings! It is black on one side and white on the other. 👍👍
@@ScottSwinson I've never seen anyone paint from bowls! But, I'm fairly new to this. Glad I found you here, Scott. And, lovely, lovely painting!
