You should be wearing a respirator (or at least a dust mask) when sand blasting. You may not realize it, but you're breathing small amounts of sand dust when doing this.

Already posted but respirator is the best advice. Save your lungs. Also, as also posted, dial in your media flow. Play around with the air valve and media flow until you get it just right. When I get ready to dump the air out of the tank. I closed all valves and disconnect the air supply and then open the air inlet valve. A lot quicker than the relief valve.

100 percent. We learned a lot of things the hard way. We finally got respirators for the second set of blasting. And got it set pretty well. The sandblaster does a great job!

If y'all are struggling to get tje material off, try aiming at an angle instead of head on. Then pull insted of push if that makes any sense. I've recently been working at a powder coating company and have been learning a few tricks when it comes to sand blasting. Of course we have the bigger hoses with higher pressurs and dead triggers but still the same concept. Hope that helps!

Great video! When I did mine (My channel will have it soon) I used same blasting unit but with sodium bicarbonate...(baking soda) It works well but not as good as that. Still produced a good product. Be forewarned.....it kills grass! But it also goes away after a rain not like sand. I dont like the beach in my yard plus the silca it makes tears up your lungs. The media you are using works great in my blasting cabinet. Where did you get the bigger tips? mine is broken now..
The sand always funnels in the vessel when it get to a certain point that you have to shake it..
As for paint I use rustoeum rusty red primer cut it with acetone to run it thru a spray gun. As for paint= rustoeum semi gloss black....it holds up well and can be touched up. also I use it on all the suspension parts.

Adjust the valve at the bottom of the tank for sand flow. You have WAY to much sand coming out at a time! It takes a little playing around. Mine works best about 2/3 open.

I wanted to blast mine, but I can't really afford to upgrade my compressor, so I just wire wheeled it & rattle canned it for now...gonna go over it with rust encapsulator later & spray it with bed liner so it'll never rust again...or that's the idea anyways...& there's nothing wrong with a good, solid 305...had one in my El Camino when I was a teenager...it's a good streetable engine & made enough ponies to win quite a few races...I don't know why people don't like them, I like them just fine...great engines...yeah, 327, or 350 is bigger, but that doesn't mean a 305 is weak by any means...they will certainly surprise any doubters...
