I just found your channel and loved the content of this video. I would love to see more videos specific to fountain pens and ink. It sounds like you’ve come to understand the wet/dry properties. That’s something I really just don’t get yet. You have a very nice way of making your content easy to understand. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Learning about inks.
I confess that I am not into trying to used inks that I can scarcely read. I gave my yellow pen and orange pens to my wife, but she agreed: unless one is an artist, it is difficult to use those colors. On the other hand, I am looking for a nice grey, in part because I send a lot of sympathy cards. I love the Japanese tradition of grey inks for that particular purpose. Best wishes, as the fountain pen hobby can quickly become an obsession. I like the Koweco school pen options in addition to their traditional pocket pens.
TWSBI and I get along well, too. I’ve had an overall consistent and positive experience with their pens. ☺️✒️

Sailor Slim Pro Gears are available in many nibs, in addition to the standard F, M, etc, they have some interesting speciality nibs, such as Zoom and Music. Some nibs are not available on some models, and often more nibs are available on the Japan domestic market than in the US. In any case you have a wonderful collection -- Enjoy! Everybody is different. Probably 60% or so of my pens are broads and stubs. And mediums are most of the rest.
Oh wow! That’s good to know! Maybe I’ll look for a different nib then! I could justify another one if it was a different size.
Medium, broads, italics and grinds are the most fun. For one thing I hate a really fine line. I don't mind a wet gold fine nib; especially German or Italian gold nibs. Second I love a smooooooooth nib, and third, the best way to see the ink characteristics are with broader nibs. Love that shading. I too have very, very few fines, and won't be purchasing any more in the future.
@@WhatCassRead It's harder to use broader nibs in planners. I don't use planners but I enjoy seeing people's collection of fens.
The zoom nib is really fun, but very broad. At a high angle, like 90 degrees it will write a finer line, but as you lower the angle the line gets thicker. The Sailor music nib is not all that special compared to other music nibs. They are most stub nibs which has a thick vertical line and a thin horizontal line. There is also an architect nib (not by Sailor) that does the reverse of a stub nib; a thin vertical line, and thick horizontal line.

Do you have any trouble holding onto the Kaweco AL Sport? I have two AL Sports, and they’re difficult for me to hold onto at different times. Beautiful collection!
I'm a Twsbi fan too. I have many. Kaweco too but I am collecting their student pens at the moment. I own as many fountain pens as years I have lived lol. Happy collecting!

Lamy and I can no longer be friends because of the special editions each year - ugh! Pilot is my favourite, although my Kakuno writes just as well as my Custom Heritage... ✒ Do you have a lot of inks? I am currently banned from buying any more - close to 200 samples and 80 bottles. My husband said how many brown, purple, or grey inks do you need? ALL. OF. THEM 😜
I do have a decent amount of inks. I have to see how to film that video next!

🖋🖋🖋🖋🖋🖋🖋🖋🖋What do I think of your fountain pen collection? Its yours and you like it so it doesn't matter what I think. I honestly would say that you, and most others on You Tube, have way more pens than you can possible use and even more importantly...enjoy. I love the fact that you love TWSBI's. My wife has one (only 1) and loves it. I don't get 10 Kaweco's...or 10 TWSBI's. But I'm just being a practical guy.
What intrigues me most is that you're a lefty. So am I. I cannot for the life of me figure out how you can write with a fountain pen and not smear everything you write. But somehow you do and good for you.

Yup! I like what I like, and that’s the rainbow of TWSBIs. I am branching out more now and have found other brands to play around with.
My other channel @itscassburton was started so I could talk more about fountain pens over there and keep the bookish content over here.
