Got saved at 16 in 1974 in the Boston area. I was raised Catholic and knew nothing about Christianity. The Lord used CBN and the 700 Club to instruct me as a new Christian in those early days.
Loved Pat, great man of God!
The 700 Club was just what the Charasmatic Movement needed to help encourage and explain the baptism of the Holy Spirit with more reinforcement that the gifts of Holy Spirit are for today's Christians ! Praise God for Pat and his obedience and inspirational influence !
Pat's life shows the faithfulness of God so beautifully.

I am saddened to hear of Pat Robertson‘s passing.
He has been such an inspiration to me over many, many years and in many ways.
We desperately need more men like him.
I pray for God’s comfort on his family.
Praise the Lord, i remember those early days! My husband and i, plus all three of our young kids, gathered in front of our tv to watch Pat and others. We loved it, and we learned so much more about the Bible than we had known. Our faith grew stronger because of this new phenomenon. Thank You Lord for Pat and his family and crew!

Abigail, you have your g.fathers beautiful blue eyes. I think it's fair to say that he was a modern day version of Mosses. He led hundreds of thousands of people to Christ and changed the path for many.
Terrie Mussin his co-host is from my hometown of Milwaukee, WI. I recall watching her on our local station. She was not your typical news person, like your g.father, she has a special glow of faith in Jesus Christ.

I like Pat when he says that he takes responsibility for all wrong doings in his life but he gives glory to God for all the right things. *But what was missing in the interview is how the prodigal Pat became the obedient follower of God. These days no one talks about sin and repentance. It would have been interesting if one had shown how Pat repented of his sins and turned to God.* What we are missing these days is repentance of sins and repentance is the key to enter the kingdom of heaven.
*Also is it a rule for Americans or the western civilization that they all have to indulge in all kinds of sins on the earth before they come to Christ?* Should all become prodigals and non-virgins to come to Christ? Can't the non-prodigals come to the Christ? Remember that non-prodigals are also sinners who need repentance. They may not have committed grave sins like the prodigals but they would have committed sins in their heart and thus they also need to repent. Jesus said it's is not good to appear pure or obedient outwardly but to have our inside also clean. Thus, non-prodigals also need to repent of their sins and be washed by the blood of Christ.

Abigail: Were there ever times in the 60 something years in ministry where maybe you followed something you thought was the Lord, but it wasn't? Pat: "Oh plenty of times, yes! I have a guiding principle. All the good stuff I give God credit for. Whatever is good I give Him the credit--He did it---I didn't do it. All the screw ups I did them and I'll take the blame. With that you have no problem. Of course I went into some business ventures that were just really foolish. I did it without maybe asking God fully what I should have done. If I'd waited just a little longer I would have maybe (gone in a different direction). Or else He wanted me to make some mistakes so I'd learn from my mistakes. But I made plenty of them."
