The tranquility of you little isle has no match. Your voice is so soothing as well. I love your little piece of Heaven.
Having never cleaned gutters, I was surprised to see you work so hard. As you said, they weren't cleaned out for years. You are amazing. Great job saving the frame of your great grandmother's photograph. She was lovely and looks like she was a strong lady, and I think you do favor her. I enjoyed seeing the sheep at their dinner. They are so cute, and Shona was a hoot.😂 Thank you!❤
I'd take a digital scan of that photo to guard against any further deterioration. It'd be a real shame to lose such a treasure
Did that with photos of great grandparents. Scan showed even more visible detail. She had earrings on, which are not visible on original.
I’d add that you should put paper on the back and seal it with paper tape, at least that’s what my did used to do and he was an artist. The reason is that it allows the image to ‘breath’ but stops any contamination, damp getting into the image and degrading it. Have a word with a gallery or expert who can advise you the best way to do it.
Scott, I totally agree with you about cutting a living tree, trees only be cut when dead. Count me as another hippie in your camp ✊️.
Nothing wrong with pollarding and coppicing....
Thank you so much for filming the pure, clean air of the sea,for your taste in keeping the place authentic, for your love and care for nature and animals, for everything ! Yes,Katie, you look like your grandma and, last but not least ,happy that Shona is back in the scene !❤🤝
I love your animals on the property the sheep are so lovely and the little lamb is settling in very nicely with the oldies. Interesting about the stepping stones and the book you were reading Katie about the old maps, very interesting. Scott I love your laugh. Have a lovely day.
My gosh. It’s June and I’ve got the AC on and you’re wearing a wool overcoat. Weather everywhere has been mad crazy. At this rate you’ll never be able to shear the girls.
Love to see Shona fitting in with her big sisters.
From High in the Rockies,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the WD40 tip! We have a very good well here but the water is hard so our sinks, shower & tub are hard to keep clean. I tried cleaning them with WD40 and they are sparkling. Game changer.
I also tried your sauerkraut. A friend sent me a fermenting kit thinking it would work for kombucha. Well, it doesn't but for sauerkraut it's terrific.
Your videos with your new camera are phenomenal. I agree with Scott, they look 3D. Your island is even more beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the castle tour. It was almost like being there.
As always, thank you for sharing. Scratches to the sheep and kitties. Shauna (sp?) is growing so fast.
Love listening to your conversation and Scott’s rendition of Steppin Stone by the Monkeys. LOL!
Watching your videos is such a pleasure. Your gentle humour and enthusiasm are so refreshing! ❤❤
Love it when Scott does his Muttley laugh xxx
My favourite time of the week , just could watch you forever. Thankyou 👍. Love the sheep , how lucky are they 😘.
I see you found a use for your wee saw Katie, I knew it would come in handy eventually 😂. Love the photo of your great grandmother, she looks beautiful, strong and independent in it! What a treasure❤
It's beautiful, bumper full of jobs to do and brilliant how you two go about finding middle ground over decisions, which need to be made. You are a joy to watch. I think the sheep are organised! They know something will become a barrier to the plants they desire! Good luck with keeping them out.
The poor sheep! I hope you will be able to sheer them soon. Will you be carding their wool and then turning it into yarn for knitting? I'd love to see an episode on that!
I have plans for carding and spinning, and felt-making...should the sun comply and we can get on with shearing! Kx
The ending of the video with Shona made my day🌻
Hint of mischief in "Great-Granny's" eyes is Katie for sure ~ ♥
What a fantastic video Katie and Scott. Loved every moment of it. Hasn't Shona grown so very quickly? She has definitely landed on her little hooves living there with you and Brie and Crowdie and cats. How are Brie and Crowdie taking to her? They really look like they are not bothered by her presence at all ..which is a good thing. Katie you are a lovely story teller and I enjoy hearing about the history of the Island and yes I do think there is some similarity between your great grandmother and yourself. Thanks for the adventures.
Hi thank you again for a brilliant video full of diversity and interesting information. Yes Katie I can see the resemblance to your great granny. Wow you work hard!!!🐏🐑🐑🐈⬛🐈⬛
Thank you
Love the stone path discovery.
Look forward to your videos. I'm with you all the way. You are a lovely couple.
Hello Katie and Scott.
Iv finally caught up with all your episodes. Came apon your journey around E50. Went back to the begining to get a full appreciation of your endeavours. Amazing.
I live in New Zealand where currently its winter. So iv been seated by my fire watching you both work your magic to bring back time gone by.
From one old soul to another, Many blessings to you both

Awesome! Thank you!
You are like your grandmother in your also are pioneering she was a beautiful looking woman😊
I love your life! Mr. Scotties rendition @8:55 I'm Not Your Stepping Stone was good! 😄 Layer by layer you're removing modern taste back to it's magnificent history. Well done!
Glad you got the quads brakes done, squealy brakes are usually not a good sign. I feel the same way about cutting down live trees, even though i live in a 1910 wood house, I mourn for the trees and the birds and other wildlife In them. The Shepard's hook was a perfect tool for you to use! Good thinking. You remind me so much of my mother, she would just get it done too. In the 60s and 70s, I remember her fixing our gas furnace one freezing winter night, our washing machine, redoing our oak floors with a giant sander, etc. She would just do it because it had to be done with what we had. Dad wasn't handy when it came to anything like that and he wouldn't pay someone to do it so she just did it herself, with a bit of Scottish pride and determination. ♡
Lovely picture of your great gran.i think your very like her Katie.beautiful to have that picture.im sure u treasure it.just loving all you both doing on the island.cant believe shone is so big now.such a cutie.🎉
The close ups of Bree and crowdie were gorgeous - But the highlight is Shona eating lying down 😂🐑Soooo so cute, I wanted to reach through the screen and cuddle her. Fabulous to see you bring the path back to life too xx Teresa 🇦🇺♥ P.S. I LOVED the picture of your Grandmother too. Just beautiful 💞💞💞
Get out my gutter! Love it, Katie! and Love Scotts soap-box speech on cutting down live-standing trees! Amen! ...And Women, too!
The beautiful portrait and showing the restoration of it. Late Gran will be proud of you both and little shona totally beyond cute... Beautiful filming love it amazing history and wildlife flowers. This weather is perfect for getting out on those walks and i bet you can't wait to wash n spin all that wool. You need wine n friends around n make an evening of it. You may have to wash n dry twice n it will come out so beautiful fluffy n white i often collect it on country walks here in Gloucestershire.... If you use a touch of washing up liquid and hot water it removes the lanolin and mud... Definitely keep thier fleeces and make something katy only if you have time. You could make sooo many jumpers and winter mittens from them.
Scott I agree in keeping authentic things😊
I so agree with you about cutting down live trees. If you see the giant redwoods in Northern California, US, that have been cut down, it is heart breaking.
i feel as you do about trees, Scott.
Oops my mistake “Carneva’le”but the A has a comma over it. It’s done by HBO. In 2003. 2 seasons. Depicting a carnival travelling during the depression era in America. It’s odd with supernatural twists in it & its VERY good. Another good series, cut short…..& we absolutely love watching your channel. We’re in outback Queensland Australia (Booubyjan) on one of the oldest farms in Australia-1843 by the lawless family, who still own the original homestead up the road. Isn’t history interesting?
PS Love your channel.
The wee baby Shona is too precious! So sleepy, yet still a bit peckish! 😂 🐑
The things from times past are so interesting. You both work so hard, gives me inspiration to do some of my things. Love the sheep. You two are good together. ❤
Enjoy video Sundays, thank you,
Beautiful photograph Katie. I have pictures of my great grandparents on both sides of my family and i treasure them especially because photos were rare back then.
Shona is getting soo big 🥰
I’m thinking a leaf blower for the shavings rather than a brush 🤔. The cobble stones look soo much better than the flagstone x
There is a resemblance between you and your granny. ❤
Lovely picture of your great gran Katie, you can see the likeness. The old pathway looks much better, can’t understand why people have to destroy history. ❤xx
Looks like Crowdy's having a bad hair day... 😄😆😂🤣
As crabs grow, they shed their old exoskeleton. So your "dead baby crabs" are more likely to just be evidence of lots of growing baby crabs, who are all now slightly bigger!
I had a stone walkway that got to the point I was tripping on it. I prayed up each stone and put dry redi mix cement down in a light layer, so they were all level. Hose it down. Done. You can put bag dirt down first to raise the walkway then put cement down. Works great
Scott there's a need for more of the chain you found. A small fence of chain 😊
Yeah you still have your lady saw Katie😊
Best wishes for the islanders...I hope the day finds you all well...💚
You'll probably find that your "dead baby crab" are in fact the empty shells of those that have recently moulted.
Use your new camera to take a photo of any old photos you wish to archive. That's my process for doing restoration work for people, beats scanning. 🙂
Gr8 to hear of your love of trees Scott
I really enjoy the lovely harp music while you are busy. So relaxing! ❤
Good work with the guttering Katie, and the path looks awesome
We only watched Deadwood last year, awesome series such a shame it was canned. Was cool to see where the old stepping stones were, lucky to have those old maps, helps piece it all together.
so glad you got to keep your lady saw!!!
Katie, I have Thyme, but I also have Corsican mint that fills in real nice and is a very strong scent. Don't know if you could grow it there but would be worth a try. Enjoying your videos!
Always a great day when i watch your video😊
New camera is so amazing. The evening light on the pines at 15.00 is just fantastic.
Too cute Shona the Big sheep peeking out of the kitchen door..
Watched deadwood when it first came out it was brilliant ❤😊great episode guys ❤
Glad to see you found a use for the lady chainsaw . I got one for my daughters and they use it on a regular basis.
Another great video. Thanks Katie and Scott.
Once again, thank you.
I'm assuming that the stone path was replaced with pavers because of accessibility. The stone path is more of a trip hazard for those who have mobility concerns. It's probably the reason why the path level was raised to meet the doorway too.
omg something growing in the gutter is a red flag. It’s better to take the water away by a gutter and downspout and get it clear of the building as a priority. When you get a drone it will be easy to check 😉
😊
I love you guys!
I use a hockey stick on my eavestroughs.
Swearengen and Jane for me too. Such a good show was Deadwood.
Definitely a resemblance there, I would have loved a chat with her - stay safe!
What you should do is put a stone in the water to the top of the stone then you can watch the tide for low water 👍
tandem thinking!!
power point conversation...fearless work-horses. oh, comedy team and historians. AND cinematographers.
😅 so happy
Interesting vlog today really enjoyed ❤️🤗
Have a quiet week .love from sunny Greece
I LOVE “Deadwood”….have you watched “Carnival”??? Its BRILLIANT!!!
No, we've not seen that! Kx
Was that Scott's walking stick you cleaned the gutters with?😁
Surely this is 81, dear Scott and Katie. Or is it me 🙃🙃
Once again a really enjoyable episode, those sheep have a wonderful life!! Loved the gutter cleaning tool! I use the salted potato water to pour on the cracks in my path, or boiling water. Keeps the weeds at bay.
As a german-scot myself - id love to know where in Germany your grammy was from. If you are willing to share that is....
Yay!! I don’t have to wait much longer
OMG live TV (or is it)! Nice work on the gutter.
Looking forward to this one :)
Thought you were sending that saw back. 😀
Trouble with WD40 is, it stinks.
You might have had a red tide(algae bloom). The filter feeders and bottom feeders are more sensitive to it.
❤
Love the stone path 😊 and a great episode ❤
Shana is a cutie❤
You need a leaf blower for the wood shavings.
I'm wondering if your dead baby crabs is actually their moulting as they grow, they expel their smaller exoskeleton in one piece .
I don’t normally comment but jeeze I laughed. I never saw deadwood or have any real idea what it was about , the bit where you said racist Steve and laughed , I laughed with you. I have no idea why it’s funny , but funny it is
Drag an anchor down the hill.
👍
There is a product for paving stones which consists of a sand and a dry polymer. You brush it into the gaps, pack it , and then wet it. It gets hard and resists washing and plants growing through it. It comes in several colors. Might be a less maintenance alternative as compared to a living option.
You need a battery-powered blower to get rid of those sheep "pebbles" from the path
hi from northampton , great watching again, Airbnb? sounds like a plan 😊
Northampton: US, UK, or Au?
@@chrisallen7068 UK
I do hate to see live trees cut down.
🥰
I also have a German great-grandmother called Josephine
Where was she from in Germany? Kx
Hi, from Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Highlight of the week. ❤️🌹🐝 ps what is that you are using for woodwork?
