For those who couldn't find displacement option(6) in megascan materials , click on the megascan link icon on top (green one) and enable displacement option .
Thank you so much! This is super helpful and now I finally figured out the issue I've made! 16:09: The reason of the displacement is barely change because the displacement did not tile (!) What tile in this case was just all the maps but the displacement is being applied as ONE GAINT TILE. (!) 16:42 [SOLVE] Go to master material, in the material attribution, scroll down to the tessellation, set crack free displacement to [False]! FYI: When [Crack Free Displacement] is true, that means enables a displacement algorithm that fixes any cracks that may appear in the mesh. This is more expensive, however, so if you do not see cracks when displacing, leave this set to False.
I found crack free but didn't know about LOD problems, thanks to this video I have solved the problem. You made this video at the right time.Thank you so much !
Thanks for posting this! It was very helpful. One thing I don't understand is why the Master/Parent material is set up the way it is regarding preventing cracking. Won't you need to do this anytime you want displacement in your landscape materials?
I've tried to use displacement after implementing anti-tiling features but without success, the result I get from my Lerp'sfor example cant be input into the Hight input of the MF_Displacement, any suggestions on how to get around this issue?
hi,MR3D-Dev,I need your help ,do you know how to add ParallaxOcclusionMapping in Quixel's MS_DefaultMaterial_Displacement and SurfaceBlend_MasterMaterial?Because displacement is expensive, thanks again.
hi , when i enable displacement option the material in not shown in the viewport no more , i mean it stay greyed out like unreal trying to compile the shader for ever , any soluation about that ! i have two 2080 ti with nvilink , could it be the reason ?
Have you placed with virtual heightfield mesh in 4.26 yet? It seems like the tesselation/displacement route is still best for landscape, but the moment I see how to take the materials displacement information and blend it onto the heightfield, it seems like that will be amazing, both in look and performance.
i need help :( when i import my material with displacement activated in the megascans plugin, when i aply the material ti wont load, it looks like i did not aply the material, when i import a material without displacement it works good
@@MR3DDev i just figure it out, it has something to do with the crack free displacement, if its on the texture wont load, idk why, is it important for that option to be on?

hey how can i add lable to bottle with with a different material like i have a bottle with a gold material i want to add a lable around it how can i do that
Hello, can I ask you a question, do you use the latest bridge and ue4.25,When I import the model from bridge to UE4, Roughness or packed RM texture are not checked by default but even if checked they don't get assigned to the material
displacement? no because is something that is calculated in real time so game size will not be affect. Game performance however will depending on how much displacement you have.
Thx for the video. But one thing I wonder - I never got a really nice looking displacement on landscape in UE4. I got where you are, but a displacement that looks good on landscape? Would like to know how to do that. :)

Hi! Thanx for the video
try to add a scalar on specular and set it to 0 (or use it for landscape like snow or wet stuff like clay or whatever etc so it give them a shiny effect)
Also, check roughness value. Range from 0 to 1. 0 will be completely reflective, while 1 will be non reflective.
Is this under the assumption that enable displacement has been checked in the megascans import gui?
yes
