- In todays episode we perform a full recap on an XBOX 1.6 motherboard. This video is minimally edited to show you just how much time and effort goes into a full recap of an XBOX version 1.6 (even the clock capacitor!) and why most techs only replace the CPU caps. Just imagine how much suffering must be endured for the recapping of a 1.0 version XBOX!

Great Video !!! enjoying watching the learning video's! keep up the good work!! love it 😊
Thank you 🤗
Some of those solder joints are nasty....
Thumbs up while i am watching this on a second screen/Picture in Picture, while doing work :)
Yea, that's about the best way you can do it while working. Thanks again for watching!
Looks like someone has already replaced the 3300UF 6.3v capacitors already. I’ve recapped many 1.6 motherboards and I’ve never came across purple/gold caps
Yea, I found that odd as well. I think this is probably the fourth 1.6 that I've seen with those caps replaced. I'm wondering if it was refurbished by Microsoft at some point.
@@RetroRenegadeRepairs thanks for repairing my Xbox one x ….hdmi port trace repair. Kids are Very happy now.
I'm glad to see its back in use. It was indeed a difficult repair.
What are your thoughts on twisting the smd caps off vs using hot tweezers?
That's honestly my preferred method, but if done incorrectly traces can get torn. Trace tearing rarely happens thankfully.
do you need to also replace the surface mount capacitors?
Are you talking about the multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) ones? If so, no.
@@RetroRenegadeRepairs ok cool thanks for your response and videos
