      It's all fun and games until you realize that that's probably their intention.
      I mean... Seeing how much Tesla uses and pushes for the use of the Auto Pilot, it's not that wierd to think that their "full self driving teslas" wich they plan to actually make in the future (that's what seems to be the "ultimate goal" with their cars) won't be needing the steering wheel.
      It'll just be a metal box with wheels that moves thanks to cameras, sensors and it's computer.

    Really wish Rivian and others would have just done front right. It allows Tesla super charger use AND solves the street charging problem them mentioned. There was no reason to choose back right for R2/R3.

    • @ludwigbear
      @ludwigbear Před 2 měsíci +5

      Rivian claims that putting the charge port on the front right would require them to run a longer cable from the battery to the charge port. Seems like a ridiculous argument though given that:
      A) The battery pack runs the full length of the car, so why can't they allow charging to feed into the front of the battery pack?
      B) They are going to force a lot of customers to buy an even longer cable and carry it around in their trunk all the time (much less convenient)

    Ludicrous model 3 ❤ it but for the love of god have a option with stalks. Why can't they just make it a option when purchasing their vehicles, smh 🤦‍♂️. • @bearlemley
    @bearlemley Před 2 měsíci +2

    It so handy to use the stalks to quickly maneuver you Tesla without having to look at the screen and guide your finger down the edge. My next car will have a shift lever and a turn signal lever

  • @ReginaldCarey
    @ReginaldCarey Před 2 měsíci +1

    In Iceland they’ve solved the EV cord issue and plug damage issue by not having them. You bring your cord and plug in.
    It’s not good or bad, it’s just different and it makes sense. Put a cord on the thing that needs to be charged - like your phone.
    You can then control the number of charging cables to manufacture, it’s the number of EVs. And you have an opportunity to reduce costs at charging stations. Manufacturers can standardize on what an outlet and plug would have to look like to support charging at 480V and sufficient amperage. Maybe it’s NACS.
    I honestly wouldn’t mind pulling a cord from the front or back of my Tesla to plug into a supercharger. As long as it was retractable.

    I get that Elon thinks all human input is error, but until we get to the day where cars truly can do a better job than humans, we still need at least some physical buttons/controls. Things I don't want going away:
    * horn
    * indicators
    * a physical way to control the wiper blades
    I think everything else, I can live without, although even for my Tesla Model YLR, changing the vent speed and temperature isn't exactly the easiest when driving, which is why I've gotten good with relying on voice commands. But let's be honest: with every button Elon removes, it just lowers production costs. That's fine, just as long as it's not taking away from the driver experience.

    I don't know if Tesla will be able to enforce the penalty of the Cyber truck is sold but they will have to go after everyone if they are entitled to the penalty. Otherwise they will lose their right. The people who think they can leave the vehicle maybe partially right. The problem is they're constructing the lease wrong way and it won't save them. I expected that Tessa will ban anyone from future purchases but I don't think they will be able to confiscate the deposit. Personally just the thought of being banned from buying a Tesla would prevent me from wanting to sell the cybertruck. But I never ordered it for the purpose of making money. I will not buy a car without stalks for safety reasons and I'm glad that Europe recognizes the reality that the safest driving in emergencies come with instincts, which have no chance in Tesla's screen controls. Anyone trying to get their phone to do what they want without looking at it has the same problem and it is a big deal. As for saving money, there are many ways to save money and a bit of advertising would easily sell all Tesla's inventory with anyone happily paying $200. more for stalks. They should be wider so people have room to move around and they should not have all the curbs and other obstructions for people to trip on etc. That is not to mention the lack of any cover whether for rain or sun. Backing up you have concrete bollards to avoid and what not. Thinking of the lady that accidentally put her car in reverse and then zoomed into the lake and couldn't get out and died, does anyone press the throttle and the car goes erratic? I guess if you can write a tear jerking letter and make up a big poor me story then Tesla will allow you to sell or maybe they will approve to purchase it from you. If I owe someone money can I let him drive and eventually keep my cybertruck to extinguish the debt? Can I let someone drive the truck then if they like it in a year they can pay me? This whole thing sounds like a way to employ more attorneys and isn't that the American way.

Bring back indicator stocks - try the U.K. a country full of roundabouts where buttons are crap to that of instinctive stalks that are obviously far better and easier to use. The Clean look to me is just cost saving and boring now. We have some great examples of nice interiors and Tesla is not one of them. It looked fresh in 2012 now just old hat and boring.

    The quad-motor Rivian R1 still seems to be the best off-road EV, since it does not have to deal with differentials, or the lockers that Tesla is now faced with implementing. The quad-motor Rivian just modulates torque via each motor, which is a much more elegant solution, and more EV like. Tesla relying on antiquated tech like locking diffs, is not the type of solution I am accustomed to seeing from them.

      I think they would, on the basis that the customer broke the contract that they agreed to with Tesla when buying the truck. From what I understand, they very clearly state that you cannot resell the car within the first year. As the customer in question has broken this agreement, with the intention that this behaviour will be repeated with the additional reservations, they very much can sue them on that basis. Doesn't matter who owns what, a contract is a contract.

    • @WillWatkins92
      @WillWatkins92 Před 2 měsíci

      @mrsoccergod5001 there is precedence however that other car manufacturers have a clause such as this for their own vehicles which are more limited editions, which in this case the truck would qualify as being until a yesr has passed, after that year has passed, it would be interesting to see if this clause is dropped by then.
