One of the greatest series I’ve ever seen.
Agreed, the record doesn’t do it justice. They only outscored the Padres by 4 runs over 5 games and only won 1 game by more than 2 runs.
Definitely one of the greatest playoffs in history even on the other side it’s exciting the alds was amazing even though it was a sweep

I’ve said it before, the 4-1 record doesn’t do the series justice. The Phillies came from behind in a few spots and only outscored the Padres by 4 runs over 5 games…only winning 1 game by more than 2 runs. This was playoff baseball at its best! EXCITING!!!!

You sure you watched the games? The Phillies score. Game 1 2-0, Game 3 4-2, Game 4 10-6. That’s more than 1 game winning by 2 or more runs. They outscored the padres by 6 runs over 5 games…
Facts. I felt like this series was destined to go 6 or 7 games until Harper’s homer off Suarez in Game 5

Honestly the astros are looking like they’re gonna have an all time playoff run if they win the WS. They still haven’t lost a postseason game. If they sweep the Phillies they’ll be the only team to not lose a postseason game since the wild card got introduced. They’d be the first to go undefeated since the 76 reds.
@@nicolascaballero1320 The Yanks went 11-2 in 1998. They bested that by going 11-1 in 1999. 1999's playoff run was something else. They swept the Rangers, outscoring them 14-1. The Yankees won two one-run games in the ALCS before being hammered 13-1. But then they outscored Boston 15-3 in the last 2 games. The WS was no contest. Smoltz, Glavin, Maddux, and Millwood were swept away by Clemens, Cone, Pettitte, and El Duque by a tally of 21-9. One game was close. The other three New York either controlled or took over at some point and won going away.
I thought the nationals 2019 run was the best in history
@@Frosteve yeah but that run wasn't great because they were súper dominant, it was because of how unlikely the run was and how they bounced back from almost not making the playoffs. That's why so many People compare the phillies to those nationals.
@@nicolascaballero1320 And the Nationals only advanced on a misplayed ball, like a 1 in 50 type play in the Wild card game, but that opened the door for them and they played great team baseball and had some great pitching along the way.As a Phillies fan they even had me rooting for them that year. Can't wait for this series against the Astros to start, we got some hot bats and some live arms!

As a Phillies fan it was honestly so sweet to beat the Cardinals and end Pujols' career, definitely got rid of some demons against Atlanta, but I have absolutely nothing against San Diego, just a great team and a great series

I was at game 5 12 rows behind home plate in the diamond club and never experienced anything like it. It’s looking like a repeat may be happening right now
The generic, royalty-free muzak detracts from the awesome baseball highlights. It would be better to either pay for some better music or just not have any background music. Baseball highlights are great to watch without BGM; it's not necessary.

When you watch this series (even just the highlights), it really puts in perspective how nonsense the Gold Glove award is. How in the #&!% was Juan Soto a Gold Glove finalist? I mean seriously how? That award is so much more a popularity contest than anything. I mean how else do you explain how Derek Jeter, statistically one of the absolute worst defensive shortstops to ever play in the majors, won five of them? The Gold Glove award is a joke.

On paper, the Astros are the heavy favorites, but there's just something magical and other-worldly about this Phillies team and all the adversity they faced all year long with the Girardi drama, all the huge injuries they had to overcome, etc. And the Astros were the team that allowed the Phillies in the playoffs, which may end up coming back to haunt them. Its going to be very interesting.
