      Nana Gotham “One Good Run” Except that Towns barely improved the way he was supposed to improve. Remember when people say Anthony Davis vs Karl Anthony Towns was the future rivalry? Now Davis has left Towns in the dust. Jokic and Embiid are developing faster than Towns, and that’s a fact that you can’t debate. In terms of potential, Towns should’ve had a pretty good margin against Jokic, and yet their currently equal. Jokic managed to lead his team to nearly equal to Town’s team last season, and don’t try to say he was 3rd option when it was just Butler and him (Wiggins was supposed to be the other 3rd guy, another overrated player).
      I’m a fan of the current Big men in the league, and I can confidently say that Jokic can dominate a lot more than most. I have even noticed other players mention him. He’s dropping so much triple-doubles and he’s barely chasing for stats. Towns has better help defense, but Jokic has better vision. The man has those Lebron eyes on the 5 spot.
      I still say that Jokic and Towns are equals atm, but Jokic shows more potential to develop though.

      OK, I see your logic, but no, here is a question, is Yao Ming a great blocker? No, he never had enough blocks as guys like Howard, Ratcliff or Camby, but if you watch Houston games at the time, basically no guards would go inside like they did with the magics the hawks or the knicks, it's the intimidation Yao Ming posted that changes the game for them, if you raise a level, it's the same thing with Shaq with Kareem don't have more blocks than Olajuwon even tho they have longer careers. Every media member keep talking about Embiid's defensive ability, is not just about the plays he can pull, it's the intimidation factor, the way Embiid change opponents' tactic on spot by just being there is very old school bigman like, Jokic is not even close to being that, altho he never really tried so he might still have a chance.

      the fact that jokic doesn't need to drive or dribble much to get the defense's attention and can make it move and collapse just by getting position down low with the ball or facing up on the wing makes him that much more efficient when it comes to playmaking.
      spacing is better for everybody else if your playmaker doesn't need to penetrate to create openings elsewhere and instead can just attack with the pass. it still recquires crazy timing and precision and most importantly the awareness to read and react to both your teammates' movement and the defense's movement.

Because all of these guys are giants and can run the break and see the court and pass the ball.
    After seeing your video, I want to see these 2 included in the conversation as we talk about the unicorns. Because of how smart and skilled they are and how they are the keys to any playoff success their teams could have, I'd put them in any list that includes KD, AD, Giannis and I guess Porzingis. I think of how good Chris Webber was when he was at the top of his game and I think that these guys can even be better because of how open the court is in today's game.

While there's no way Jokic can ever equal Embiid as a rim protector due to his lack of athleticism, he is definitely right there in pretty much every other respect, and could arguably even catch him in scoring if he really made it a focus. The fact that Jokic will always pass up a decent shot for himself in favor of a perfect shot for this teammates is what makes him great, though. Not untrue...but I'll still take the defensive liability in exchange for the amount of offense "Jokic Ball" is able to generate going the other way. If he can improve from "horrible" to "slightly below average" in PnR situations, then I'm happy with that. His biggest problem honestly is not the points he gives up, but his tendency to be lazy and get in foul trouble. When he was on the bench last season, the Nuggets sucked.

    *Edit:* Embiid's greater prominence has nothing to do with the Sixers making the playoffs and Jokic not. It has to do with Embiid's personality and story. Did you watch the playoffs as well? They don't beat the Heat unless Embiid comes back in game 3 after losing on their home court in game 2. Actually watch the games buddy, instead of searching for 10 minutes trying to find 1 game they won without Embiid. Go look at the Nuggets Lakers game from December 2nd, they won by 15 without Jokic.. So again, what do you think the disconnect is? If Jokic's teammates and colleagues are calling him the greatest player of all time, the GOAT, a future Hall-of-Famer, etc. then why is he losing regular season games to a Sixers team that's missing their best player? Why did we lose games (plus some were home games...) to the Suns, Kings, Grizzlies, Hawks, Mavs 2X, Embiid-less Sixers, Hayward-less Celtics, Kawhi-less Spurs, Durant-less Warriors, Blake-less Clippers, or a Timberwolves team with an injured Jimmy Butler for what was essentially a play-in game for the playoffs? What does that tell you about our team and what is going on with our team? I mean no offense to those teams who weren't where they wanted to be record-wise or were rebuilding, I'm just saying...
      Or how about where we had to grind out TOUGH, LABORIOUS wins over depleted teams like the Grizzlies, Hawks, Bulls, Mavs, Nets, Kawhi AND Aldridge-less Spurs, Wall-less Wizards, Gobert-less Jazz, Lillard-less Blazers, out-of-form Warriors (February game), and so on? Do you want to guess? Why is there a dissonance here between what Jokic's teammates are saying about him and these losses/tough wins to and over bad and injury-depleted teams? If he is what everyone thinks he is and what his teammates say he is then what is really going on here? Why would his team lose to the teams I mentioned in the shape that they were in at the time? If he is what everyone thinks he is and what his teammates say he is then why does his team have to work so hard to grind out LABORIOUS, EXACTING wins over depleted, out-of-form, and bad teams? What is going on here? Again, do you want to guess? And by the way, we couldn't beat that Heat team on the road in March, so...

    OKAY I SHALL MENTION IT - Let’s not forget embiid has Ben Simmons feeding him the ball, which makes him look better. Jokic has nobody on the assist skill Simmons has therefore not really a fair test

    • @dirkfade113

    • @therapist6765
      @therapist6765 Před 6 lety +1

      2Clutch Productions how is my point irrelevant? Obviously you are correct that embiid creates his own shots. However, you cannot deny Simmons assists means embiid will have a higher ppg. Simmons is one of the best passers in the league, which allows his teammates to get easier points. This again, improves embiid’s PPG. Easier points means more efficiency. I think you don’t understand the point of the video lol

    • @dirkfade113
      @dirkfade113 Před 6 lety

      Matt Simons ok?? All players have point guards that feed them the ball.. and Embiid averaged 20 a game on 25mpg which is around 29ppg per 36 minutes in his rookie year WITHOUT Simmons. Plus, Embiid gets fed more cuz he’s way more deadly and offensively skilled than Jokic

    • @therapist6765
      @therapist6765 Před 6 lety

      2Clutch Productions you’re missing the point. Jokic doesn’t have an elite point guard on his team. Jokic is the only allstar on his team. Obviously embiid is better as he has the better team.

      And by the way, he is already changing the way the league plays. I've heard people compare him to Larry Bird, Chris Webber, Steve Nash, Boris Diaw, etc. and while I'm sure he was inspired by players like those I have NEVER seen anyone play like him: not those players and not anyone, really. Making flashy individual assists is only a small part of his game; the way he orchestrates the game is UNREAL.

      I think it’s Jokic (Greatest Player of All Time)>KAT>Embiid. Embiid is great but is way more of a conventional player compared to the other two whose main problem is that their coaches hate them. You saw that a banged-up Celtics team missing their two best players was able to defeat Embiid in the playoffs; he doesn’t have the ceiling that Jokic or even KAT have.

    Man, I wish Jokic would come to the Sixers, and I'm not even a Sixers fan. Maybe when he's tired of losing, the Sixers could offer the Nuggets Saric, Fultz, and some first round picks and talent for Jokic. That would be fudging amazing to watch Embiid and Jokic play together. It think it's weird to compare them since they're so different. But I'm not convinced. In my eyes Embiid is better, mostly due to his superior defense. If offenses went at Embiid like they go at Jokic, he'd be averaging twice as many blocks. But teams gameplan around him. Jokic has that effect on offense, but not on defense. And I also think you're underestimating Embiid physical strength offensively. This is another edge he has over Jokic. His strength is really imposing. And I don't think there's anyone currently in the NBA who's stronger.

    Embiid is just more prototype with the defensive abilities. The nuggets right now with Jokic are so run and gun it's crazy, but if they can get some rip protection from a 4 even if they can't shoot too well it will work well. There are so many options having Jokic's playmaking and shooting from the 5.
