- The next day the sky cleared so I could sow the bush beans, sweet corn and radishes. Covering the soil with rock dust after sowing and keeping the surface moist has helped this year to keep the flea beatles off the foliage from the rocket salad and radishes.
How cozy to be tucked into the tunnel! You are so creative with your photography. So many interesting and fun points of view and the water falling from the spout looked so cool.

What a beautiful day! I am sure I saw you deal with a snail recently, but I could be mistaken, my question is if you have serious issues with slugs? And, if you do, how do you deal with them? I have only tried growing spring lettuces a couple of times , but each time was a failure due to the numerous slugs here in the Pacific Northwest. I don’t like to put out slug bait because of the birds and other creatures, but the slugs are terrible. I find them all over and they decimate any small seedlings, especially lettuces, so I have to wait until my seedlings are pretty good sized even for non-lettuce.
She uses slug collars. The slugs struggle or can’t climb over the turned down upper lip. I see them on Amazon and hope that large nurseries carry them locally.
Have you put down beer traps ( at least they die happy !) as well as useing the slug collars ?
