I don't know what's wrong with mine , it won't turn off when the timer bleeps...actually, it's my sisters. Don't know if it's something she's set incorrectly?

How loud is the cooling fan? Ive read reviews saying this is the loudest microwave theyve ever used when the fan kicks in.

it doesn't make sense that I have just received my R-861slM 900W version with 25l capacity plus a drop down door. its apparently much newer but also fairly noisy

I don't know how much easier a drop down door would be, certainly useful in smaller kitchens. It isn't the quietest of microwaves, but certainly sturdy and stands the test of time. 10 out of 10 for reliability! Enjoy using yours!

I came here to hopefully get to hear which sound the microwave makes when it finishes. No reviewers ever seem to demonstrate this.

I am so glad that after researching what appears to be a lot of microwaves, you have finally found one that is perfect for your needs. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

terrible microwave I find that frozen food doesn't get heated efficiently all the way through. I am getting a panasonic instead.

I have never had a problem with mine heating frozen food. Shame that you have had problems, may just have been a dodgy microwave, hopefully you will find one that works for you!

@@SimslifeCoUk I ended up getting a 1000W panasonic microwave with inverter technology which has been heating my food throughout way better than this microwave.

@@MOGGYANGRYgrrr The inverter technology refers to the magnetron (which generates the microwaves) being able to change it's power output.
On standard models this is achieved by switching the magnetron on and off depending on the power setting.
It shouldn't affect the uniformity of the cooking, however, I suspect Panasonic uses some additional technology designed to achieve better cooking uniformity without the need of a turntable.

The general advice is to leave the microwave door open for a few minutes after coking to allow any moisture to dry out.
The quality of the 'stainless steel' used in cheaper models also has a bearing on how quickly surfaces start to rust.
