Looking to buy the Perception Triumph but a friend of mine who owns one mentioned they don't track very well in wind, not that most kayaks do, but he said it's very noticeable and you have to constantly paddle to keep straight, can Neil suggest his opinion many thanks :)

Hello Alex, it's always going to be down to personal choice , budget and what ever your needs are. I noticed that when he was in the Triumph it seemed to cut through the water a bit easier than mine and he could get a wee gap on me pretty quickly. I would say for recreational use they are stable and will offer you a great deal of enjoyment and fun.
The main factor for me is always related to transporting a kayak and how you mount it high up on the roof bars without any help.

@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Yes I think he was a bit more nimble quick due to that boat being longer and thinner, ordering for our kayak rental in Greece, and I really wanted to know if it track with a crossword, an owner of one told me it struggle to stay straight, thanks for the tip though and yes mounting a take on the roof can be a major step, on that point you one up on him, longer they are the more difficult to mount single handedly

@Alexi Tselentis The main thing for me is stability and comfort when you are out on a leisurely cruise, best of luck though Alexi.

I bought a Perception Triumph 13 in June of this year. I also have an Ocean Kayak Scrambler XT. The Scrambler XT tracks superbly due to a built in keel at the stern of the boat. The Perception is very prone to weather cocking when the wind is from the rear quarter and a lot of effort has to go in to steering strokes. I am in the process of considering purchasing a small hull-mounted skeg to glue underside at the rear because I do not want to go to the expense and hassle of fitting a Perception rudder rig. Almost regretting my purchase of the Triumph as I still love my Scrambler XT and will not part with it. Good Luck.

@@Sgianachlais Thank you for your input and opinion it's what I've heard, for calm conditions it's lovely but you have to paddle accordingly with windy conditions, your think the design team of such a big company would have thought of their design, it's a obvious flaw to a lovely kayak, I have a drop down rudder for my personal wilderness, it is a hassle but really a great addition to any kayak, maybe that extra little hassle will be worth it, Triumph is a great kayak, with a rudder I'm sure you will loose any regrets, all the best and thanks for your views on this, much appreciated.

Dump the music, focus on your message, and stop jerking the camera around...right idea, wrong execution.
