When a derby is also a very important game for league positions it usually goes one of two ways; cracker or cagey, this was very much the latter. Both set of fans were great throughout enspite of the poor entertainment but only one side could have bragging rights.

First visit to Burton yesterday. Drove down from the North East as Sunderland didn’t have a game. Tickets from someone connected to Vale in the away seats. Ground just about the right size for the club looked nice and new. Burton fans quiet especially after Loft was clean through and missed. Vale fans seemed to have belief despite no win since December. Nice atmosphere in the seats and the lads behind the goal were enjoying themselves. No 4 came on for Vale and was probably man of the match with some great balls from just in front of us. No 6 for Vale had a great game too and was the all action centre half. Deserved win for Vale and couldn’t resist a jump around when the goal finally went in. I’d say a disappointing game from Burton but Vale did everything you expect from an away team. They didn’t give anything away and kept looking to create. A better game than you described from where we were. Bought a cracking Port Vale fanzine for £1 too, what can you get for a quid these days?

You must have travelled even further than me to get there then! Glad you had a good time in the opposite corner, sure on the pitch wasn’t the best but it was never going to be, the atmosphere however about as good as it gets for this level and now the relegation race is wide open! Well done for getting tickets in the away end, it’s always a great atmosphere with vale away and as you say the support is always there. Derek I’m Gutted I think your talking about with the fanzine, yes it’s really well written tongue in cheek 👍
Vale is a bogey team for Burton. They don't like playing us 😂. Not for any rivalry just for the back luck they have against us.
Which fanzine did you buy? The Beano is the better one of the two.
It was Derek I’m Gutted a good read at halftime. Didn’t see anyone selling the Beano or I would have had one of those too. Loved the 90’s when every club had one or two paper fanzines and part of an away trip was collecting them. First one I’ve seen this season apart from A Love Supreme. Some don’t even have programmes now. (Sorry for sounding like an old bloke hankering after better times).
Great vlog from a vale fan shame didn’t get more our chances in put we dominated that second half and did alright in first considering we were playing against the wind UTV
