  • Here, I explain how to find your easiest posture to take the strain off your knee and hip joints as well as how to find your relationship to the ball at address. A very simple exercise is supported by a very simple drill that involves hitting 3 balls in 3 different positions so that you find your natural distance from the ball, just as gravity wants it.

Another great video. Audio was not the best, but the instruction came across as how to address the ball.

Something that I have always struggled with is consistent strike and likely due to ball position at setup. Great drill Sean. I have been watching Easiest Swing videos from you, Julian Mellor and Brian Sparks during the winter and I am moving to a more upright swing as you have demonstrated. Recently fitted for new clubs and the fitter ordered the irons with 2 degrees flat, and 2 degrees open. Flatter lie probably due to the more upright stance. What do you think ???

    •  Před 5 lety

Richard Croft sounds about right Richard, I like the 2 degrees open too.

Tks, looks great. What portion of clubs sole should rest on floor considering shaft flexibility and whipping at swing even at easy / lazy swing. Tks.

The refernce i use is that the little finger should be able to just about fit under the toe of the club at address

I’ve done everything I’ve seen in these videos and my drives go 210 yards at the simulator. Kinda frustrating

Sean, if we adopt a more upright stance should we be considering an upright lie on our clubs?

    •  Před 5 lety +1

Robert Cole yes by all means a review of the lies of each club will be very beneficial. Thank you for pointing that out Robert.

I have been an Easiest Swing convert for almost 2 years. I frequently unknowingly return to old habits at address, including the more athletic address stance that can creep back into my pre-shot routine. When I do this, solid contact becomes a problem for me, and I either slice or pull hook my shots. This was happening again last week, and I realized I needed to be more upright at address. Voila! I started hitting crisp, solid shots again. Occasionally I get too upright with the ball too close to my toe line, and the shanks appear. I can usually quickly correct that, but Sean's video really shows why I have the shank and slice/pull hook problems when they occur. One of the great things about the Easiest Swing is I can usually tell what I'm probably doing when shots are not crisp and solid...and the correction is usually a posture issue at address. In that sense, I'm a lot like Richard Croft says in his comment on the video. I was also fitted for clubs with a more upright shaft angle...even before I found the Easiest Swing. Great video, Sean. Thanks!

Thankyou David. Great feedback here on how the more upright posture has helped you. The 3-ball drill will help you to stay consistent with your distance from the ball as you get used to standing more upright.
