    People love to think that they need a trd offroad pro even if the most offroad they will be is a dirt road at a campground. They also complain about towing capability only being 5000lbs but they will never tow a trailer.
    Most people only need a truck for runs to home depot to get some bags of mulch or a 4x8 sheet of plywood/dry wall, which the ridgeline excels at. It is the only midsize truck that will fit that 4x8 sheet flat between the wheel wells.
    The ridgeline is the truck 90% of people actually need.

    My parents had the original fully loaded Honda Ridgeline and Loved It!!!!! Extremely comfortable and reliable!!! They passed it down to a family member and it is still going strong with over 250l miles
    I would totally buy one of these

    Can't wait to see what the 25 model year has to bring

    I have a 2019 RTL. I really like this truck! What I don't like about the newer version is the shift buttons, new steering wheel buttons, arm rest change, and lower mpg. I will probably purchase another one later. Hopefully they improve it better.

      I think the major redesigned feature that sells the newer models is the fact that you get physical volume knob and major media controls. Also the redesigned front bumper suits the truck much better

    • @MrKnightoflight
      @MrKnightoflight Před měsícem

      @@AlCasa52 I agree with that. My truck came with the smaller stereo that already had a volume and tuning knob on it. It does not have all the other fancy things that the touchscreen version has. The Bluetooth on it works well though. I think the slope on the front of my truck helps with the aerodynamics, therefore getting better gas mileage. I drove 200 miles yesterday, mostly on the freeway, and got 31 miles per gallon on the trip computer. So I can live with that. God bless!!!

    Very nice video. I appreciate your detail. Informative yet entertaining. How about including payload for the specific truck you are reviewing? I am a fan of the Ridgeline. We are buying at the end of 2024. It is the midsize truck by which we compare all others. Other than less tow capacity, the RL is exceptional. Our camper only weighs 2900 lbs, so 5,000 lbs is solid for us. Plus, the RL has more payload than many midsize and some 1/2 ton trucks.

    Yes towing is only 5k BUT my 2017 ridgeline gets better gas mileage towing my bass boat than my 2020 chevy diesel dually or my v8 suburban or ram 1500 diesel truck. About 15mpg with the ridgeline vs 10-13mpg with the other 3 vehicles.

    Really nice review, lots of good info and appreciate the differences between trims. I'm considering leasing one of these. Thanks for the vid.

    My only drawback is the pushbutton shifter and the cylinder deactivation. Otherwise, the truck is an excellent choice for the weekend warrior. I owned one back in 2007 and loved it.

    • @user-lr6ie4wx4q
      @user-lr6ie4wx4q Před 3 měsíci

      No cylinder deactivation on the ridgeline. Don’t know where that came from

    • @user-kk8if9gp3v
      @user-kk8if9gp3v Před 3 měsíci +1

      It has VCM. Variable cylinder management which is cylinder deactivation. I installed a VCM disable on my 2019.

      @@user-kk8if9gp3v sorry I had thought when they dropped VCM in the pilot in 2023 they had followed with the rest of the V6 cars over the next two years

    You have some great Nissan frontier reviews. Does this compare well with that?

  • @therues7071
    @therues7071 Před 2 měsíci

    It needs a lift for more offroad capabily, especially for the Trialsport model. beside that I think it is the perfect midsize truck

  • @cwilczak8706
    @cwilczak8706 Před 3 měsíci +1

    All the reviews I’ve seen don’t load up the truck. 20 bags of mulch would be a good test. It’s a truck, right? Have any owners done that yet?

    Does the truck have a burglary alarm

    • @fredmoss4540

      Regular standard Honda Burglar Alarm. Door, Hood, Trunk Tailgate.
      If emergency tailgate release cable is pulled when factory alarm set it will sound horn.

    My biggest complaint which will keep me from buying any new version of this truck is getting rid of captains chairs and the flat area between the front seats. It sounds stupid but I use this area all the time to place large items etc.

      Yeah I did too in my F-150 that had the center jump seat and in my wife's minivans. I always thought Honda missed an opportunity with the Ridgeline to do that. There's enough space for it.

    Had I known that this truck (2024 Ridgeline Sport) had all this BULSHIT lain alert and control, CMBS bulshit and other so-called safety features I would have never bought it (my fault for not investigating the truck before purchase.) I have already (in 2 months) been rear ended 3 times because of that STUPED auto braking crap. (I was NO WHERE NEAR the car in front, since I do not Tailgate ever!)) I have driven nearly 1 million miles in my life and a dame safe driver. I don't need all that auto-driving crap. I am going to find a way to completely disable those stupid systems or I will take a lose and traid the truck. The truck runs and drives well. It gets great mileage. Appears well-built. Too bad it is such a technical nightmare.

    I just can't stand that ugly trim around the back window. I wish they would redesign it.
