    In America, a judge would not even grant you bail if another judge gave you no bail. He/she will refer you back to the same judge. Nigerians love drama everybody wants to be in charge. So Agbakoba makes sense in terms of efcc should have returned to the first judge and asked that he/she vacate the first court order but you know why they would not do that because it's not about the 💵 and justice for Kogi state ppl. But it's all political someone wants to show him am the boss. Idc about Yahaya Bello but our judicial system should do better. It's a shame 😂

The male host's question asked at 16:00 is dumb - asking the ex governor to go and vacate the EFCC 2nd order to prevent arrest makes no sense. Where it end?? Each side can just keep a lawyer at a high court and keep vacating each others order. Crazy country!

    SAN Olisa Agbakuba. When did Nigerian law enforcement agencies started following due process in arresting and trying suspects of higher class in Nigeria. In America. There are state laws and federal laws. Each totally independent of one another and respected.
    In Nigeria. If someone sues you in Lagos. No problem. All you need to do is counter sue that person in kano in a court of equal jurisdiction on same matter . Relax and go about with your daily life. Drop some Naira . The case is guaranteed to last a minimum of 10 years . Another set of new lawyers and judges will start the case afresh after 10 years .

    The EFCC is trying to collect their tithes from Yahaya Bello. Governors who pay tithes don't have this problems. Ask Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Ganduje, Bola Tinubu, Oshomoile etc.
    Yahaya Bello should seek advice from Rochas Okorocha on what percentage of the loot to payoff EFCC. Emefeile didn't pay tithes. Chief Priest Cubana understands the game.

    Olisa Agbakoba at it again! He started the Abuja status during the election that made some people believe that Abuja voters are more superior to other voters in Nigeria. Here again, he is saying that EFCC cannot handle corruption cases. Where has he been since 1999? Why has he not gone to court like Gani Fawehinmi would have done if he were still alive to challenge the EFCC? I really don’t understand his cunning-cunning style of lawyering.

    It is not true that EFCC does not have the powers to prosecute corrupt practices. As a matter of fact, section 46 of the EFCC act clearly outlined the powers of EFCC to investigate and prosecute corrupt practices in as much those practices border on economic and financial activities of non-violent nature. The learned SAN grossly misinterpreted and misrepresented the supreme Court Judgement (2015) of Iwobike vs EFCC. The contentious argument in that case was 'pervasion of course of justice' and has nothing to do with prosecution of 'corrupt financial or economic crimes'. The apex court in it's wisdom adopted the ejusdem generis rule in the interpretation of section 46 of the EFCC act. In other words, the court held that the term 'corrupt malpractices' must be interpreted in respect to 'financial and economic crimes'. I am medical doctor by trade, but I am knowledgeable enough to discern a misrepresentation of facts however miniscule it might seemed.

  • @Kareem-Baba
    @Kareem-Baba Před měsícem

    Reading the comments here clearly shows that a lot of people either did not listen to the interview or cannot comprehend it. What the learned silk said is that the EFCC did not follow due process, the EFCC has no business prosecuting corruption, the EFCC should have gone to a higher court instead of a court of similar jurisdiction that gave the first order and that the gestapo manner of arrest is not right.

    • @ishobol7407
