- My second video involving shooting. There is no live animal shooting in this video, I will post a warning on anything involving live quarry. The T bolt is a lovely small rifle, made for rabbits and other legal small quarry, Not quite as sporting as my PCP air rifle because anything within 250 meters is a potential target, just as well because we are currently over run with rabbits, they have become a real problem this year.
If you dont like shooting, dont watch. This is all part of managing land. Some jobs we like, some we dont.
I dont relish shooting animals like I used to, but I like to think I am concientios and only take as much as really nessessary, and waste as little as possible.
You got great form in your hold very steady hold over.
Have u tried the Hw100 if so what did you think of it
What is the adaptor on the front of the Sweet 17.

Great video I’ve just started shooting and bought a bsa scorpion and am soon applying for my shotgun certification
Enjoyed the video, and ur explanation as to why u are doin it, ie protectin ur farmin environment an investment, an like yourself enjoy a rabbit stew or casserole yum yum 👍👍
Hope you haven't been using ramblers backsides to set your sights!!! Took the end of my thumb off cocking a tweaked bsa lightening in my late teens shooting bunny's on the local estate. That smarted abit the after morning after when they rebuilt it at Royal Preston hospital. Don't think it was my best ever idea.
Ramblers back sides?
No, far too big a target Phil..... Unless it’s half a mile away. 😄
My biggest target at 350 meters is a tennis ball 🎾
I witnessed a mate take the end off a finger with a BSA Meteor when I was youngster, cor blimey he howled like a banshee.👆🏻
I know how he felt. I can still remember running it under the tap and swearing alot. Still get pain in it today. 20 years on.
Was the wind as high as it seemed here on the video? I have found that high winds will effect my 17 grain .17HMR bullets while target shooting at
100 metres.
Thanks Farmer P., for this .
Reg Sparkes
It was very windy Reg, which is why I waited until 9.00pm beforeI went out. 18 shots that night = 15 rabbits. I did video some of it but not produced a film as yet, still thinking about it.
@@FarmerP I understand your thinking,...well,..you could edit out the actual 'contact' scenes, if that's possible. But whatever you do will be just fine , I'm sure.
Got plenty of flying rat's here. However can't remember if they can be removed !!
Calum Anderson
Everything flying is now legally protected Calum, you need to apply for a license from Natural England to shoot anything on the wing, including flying rats.
Oh crap!! 🙁 who ever made that law I hope their car, house and themselves get heavily crapped on !! 😡💩
Calum Anderson
Natural England revoked the three General licenses on April 25th Calum after a legal challenge made by “Wild justice” A group headed up by Chris Packham. Natural England folded without a fight and gave three days notice that all bird shooting would thereafter become an offence. New licences are being rolled out but you must apply for them.
I can see more thing's hanging on a gate! I think chicken manure dumped on a gate way would be better!
I don't think hanging things on a gate is a terribly good idea at the moment calum, it can give shooters a bad name and be counter productive to our ultimate cause... A workable new General license.
Prefer 22 sub sonic on rabbits at night cheaper run easier to get on ticket but day time your hrm 177 punches the distance . Day state what pellets are u using air arms field ?
Sion Mcdonald
.22 subs are a tad quieter than the 1.7 as well. Less likely to upset any neighbours when you are shooting from the back of a Land Rover, mind you the .22 FAC Huntsman is an awesome night time bunny gun. Quieter again, good range, 10 shot magazine and cheep to run. 👍
I am using Bisley magnums. 21.14 grain pellets.
I found my local firearms officer preferred people to have the 17hmr over a 22lr because it doesn’t ricochet whereas a.22 subsonic goes whizzing off god knows where as soon as it strikes a mouse turd.
Good video Farmer P 👍
Why not 22 hornet, when I was young we had no 17, so why now ? You do always headshot ?
sorry sonnenschein
I didn’t go for a 22 Hornet because I wanted a 17 for weight, range and accuracy.
hope you will let us know how many you bag if you don't manage to do a video on the night shoot good luck Mr P .. ; ) SC UK
15 Steve, video will follow.
Love it from the garden table I’m So jealous nice guns I like the extra mag in the butt very Clever 👍
John Priscott
The garden table is my best spot John.... Wait for part 2 🙂
Overcompensation every man does but not many admit😂. Nice guns an I doff my hat to your marksmanship
H.S AGRICULTURAL
Thank you, my marksmanship is nothing compared to my late teens. I could knock a flea off a dogs ear at forty paces with my sub 12ft lb air rifle. 👍
cool thats 15 rabbits that will not be digging holes for the cows to fall into hate to think what the vet fee would be for something like that and in worse case the thought that you have to have one of the cows put down that bill could easy come to a few thousand pounds with the cost of buying the cows and the feeding and up keep health wise not to mention the loss off resale for beef.
all in all dam big bill I used to do a bit of rat control at a farm near to where I live only good rat is a dead one ... ; ) S C UK
That came across well.
Thanks Tom.
Prefer 22 myself
Ryan Quinn
I use my .22 Daystate for closer targets Ryan. The 30ft lb Huntsman chucking a 22grain pellet knocks over bunnies up to 60+ meters no problem, and the ammunition is off the shelf, I don’t need my FAC to buy them. The 17HMR is for longer ranger targets. I was knocking off rabbits consistently at 125 meters last night, some from this very same elevated position in my garden.
