    When it comes to hay making its a bit like what Murray Walker used to say..... Go ..Go...Go... 😊. We haven't got ours cut yet but hopefully the weather up here will start to show signs of summer shortly 🤣🙄. Stay safe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Tractor driver syndrome (sweaty damp bum and dangly bits), welcome to the club.
    I worked with someone once that had the air con (cold)on full and the heated(hot)seat on at the same time during the summer.
    Mr Cornock likes tedding, perhaps he could do yours and Harry could do his?

    I don't know what it is like now but back in the eights when I was a deputy area coordinator on our local Neighbourhood Watch we had a PC attached to our area and monthly meetings which was very useful with all sorts of info such as crime figures etc and another officer I got to know very well who had old school values he used to cycle around on his push bike and saw things going on that any patrol car could not and one day he said to me what sort of things that you look at in your capacity as Environment Secretary in the Resident Association I replied on breaches of local bye laws, that wouldn't be in you domaine his reply was "I would be interested in my experience people who break bye laws go on to break bigger laws and I like to know who is on my patch" I thought this chap was really hands on. 🧐

    Nice to see Biskit Ian ❤ and I do enjoy it when you give your view on things I quite agree if you police the area then you should have at least a bit of knowledge about farming or go out to the farmers and ask about how they can help in situations like what happened a few weeks ago 👍 how is the little chap doing with the dairy air problem 😟 x 👍 great video today more exciting than the football 😂

    Our village had a few police houses over the years gradually moving from very old rambling cottages to what was once a brand new house, all sold now. One cottage must have been a little police station as it has a prison cell tucked away in a corner

    The police used to be more in touch with the community. We used to know the police around the area, but the police in charge hated that and thought the police were too comfortable with the people living in the area. They changed it, so they rotated them, so you never know the police; now, they are just passing cars with fancy decals on them. We used to have police stop for a chat or bru regularly, and they knew who was up to no good or who got silly if they had a bit of much beer but was basically OK or that van that is out of place. That's local knowledge. They knew when a barn suddenly gets a lot more traffic than normal, and no one knows who is renting it, that local intell is missing, and it shows.
    We used to get called up regularly to use the Kramer to pull a car off a wall or a tree down there to help with somthing, but we have never had that call for years.

    The Thames Valley Police had an officer killed responding to a quad bike theft. I'm sure the police could have some help help with the heifer in Surrey even a call to the RSPCA.

    • @FarmerP

    Not trying to tell you your job but you started turning hay in the middle of the field dad used to turn the headlands first because it's slowest to dry same as baling he used to leave the hedge swath while last to give it more time to dry keep up the good work

    • @FarmerP
      @FarmerP  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Why turn it then flatten it down again when you turn on the headland?

    • @barrywalker3730
      @barrywalker3730 Před 2 měsíci

      @FarmerP yes I agree we used to turn with the acrobat which we didn't have a hay bob you are right we had to keep it in swaths which was slower to dry so we had to leave the hedge swath as long as possible to dry farming as changed a lot

    I think the main point you were and are trying to make is, that the rural police forces need to do is increase the amount of training to service the rural vs urban public to the best of their ability. I believe in this case you are right on the nose and good on you.

    Whenever I spend a large amount to a "new" account I send them a random amount unknown to them (eg £1.59) and ask vendor how much they've received. If they tell me the correct amount I send the balance as I'm then sure my old fat fingers haven't got the wrong account. Too many horror stories of money transferred to wrong person and not being refunded.

    Well, farmer p it looks like you dance on both sides of the fence what the police man done was morale wrong, no excuse for the asshole I wonder what he does to poor people that don't have a voice or a say.in my humble opinion I think he should be fired and never let back on police force

    • @FarmerP
      @FarmerP  Před 2 měsíci

      Having the ability to see and listen to both sides of a story is an increasing rarity these days. Being certain of an opinion with nothing more than limited social media evidence is lazy and dangerous. We are still none the wiser how the heifer got to be in the town in the first place, the officer who ran it over probably knew nothing about livestock at all (was that his fault ?) If he was ordered to stop it running about to prevent injury to the public some of whom had reported it charging at them (they new no better either) by disabling it with his motor, then the finger of blame can’t be pointed at one individual doing his job. My point was emphasising the lack of knowledge and resources resulting in a very poor response at the cost of not just the poor innocent heifer but also the reputation of the police.
