The route to jiskun goes through rohru town along the river pabbar .
This road goes through the extremely beautiful and scenic chainsheel valley which is a trek in itself.the road to jiskun from chainsheel valley is a complete offroad journey.
DAY 2: TREK FROM JISKUN TO JHAKA
About jiskun village…………….
After a walk in the jiskun village now it was time for some healthy breakfast and our morning tea .(packing up for the trek )
After the breakfast we all gathered up in the hall for a brief by our trek leader.(brief by sarvari trek leader )
It’s a 3 & a half kilometer walk to jhaka the highest and the last village on the rupin pass trek . the route is scenic though it’s a challenging trek.
The next one hour climb to jhaka is through one of the best trekking trails . the scenery changes frequently .
We reached jhaka village at around 12 in the noon. After lunch and some rest now it was time for a walk to the village to know about its culture and architecture. Also known as the hanging village jhaka has a population of around 700 .the dwellings at jhaka are buit by their traditional technique called kathkuni which prevents the buildings being harmed by earthquakes. This construction tecknique is prevelant in the isolated hills of north India .
Kuldevta temple of jhaka ………..the wooden hand carved building is the kuldevta temple of jhaka .
DAY 3: TREK FROM JHAKA TO SARUVAS
At 12 in the noon it was time for a lunch break in the noon. We tried this local dish called sidhhughi . that’s our campsite at saruwas thatch. Looks like we ve landed in a fairyland.
DAY 4: TREK FROM SARUVAS THATCH TO DHANDERAS THATCH
Nothing to speak
DAY 5: DHANDERAS THATCH TO UPPERWATERFALL
An important brief by our trek leader since we were entering the rock fall zone. Helmets were given.
Day 5 is a challenging day . Its an ascend of appx. 1500 feet. Things got serious when we reached the snow patch at the base of the waterfall . a trail had already been made and we followed it very carefully.
After a tiring climb we enjoyed our lunch besides the rupin river.
DAY 6: WATERFALL TO RUPIN PASS & FURTHER TO RONTEDGAD
