Renowned hairstylist George Northwood gives us a super quick masterclass on creating the perfect pony, by Susannah Taylor for Get The Gloss.
Firstly, take a Mason and Pearson Brush, £39.50 (bit.ly/1s6I9s3) and brush the hair into a really tight pony in the middle on the back of the head and secure with a hair tie.
Take a strong hairspray, such as Pureology Colour Stylist Strengthening Control Hair Spray, £14.25 (bit.ly/1sotxhO), and spray the sides to make the hair really tight and hard for a severe look.
Spray it through the top and pull it for a messy and severe top to the hair.
Then take a small piece of hair and wrap it around the pony. Secure it with a pin.
Next, messy the up the back of the hair to make it slightly messy and continue to spray the sides and top to set.
George’s tip for the perfect pony is to get the sides tight and shiny and to leave the top dry and messy so that you have a dual-texture going on.
