    Great video!
    I bought a new Aygo X Edge Manual in 'Chilli Red' last September as my daily commuter. I agree with your findings, the rear seats are quite useless, though I doubt I'll ever need to put anyone in the back as I've got bigger cars. The 18" wheels are a compromise, I have a set of 17" wheels from the 'Pure' model that I used through winter, and they transformed the car. But overall, I love it! Its fun to drive, funky to look at and cheap to keep. Great spec too, particularly like having the adaptive cruise and auto lights & wipers. Mine has just started freeing up nicely at 5,000 miles, now much more eager to rev and sounds smoother, I've averaged 60mpg so far. Lots of those are on long runs, in fact I've just been to France and Belgium with it, fine for two people and luggage, with surprisingly comfortable seats.
    I went Aygo X over the competitors because of the engine, it's reliability is well proven, it's frugal and characterful. Plus the long Toyota warranty and general styling of the car appealed.

      Hi Chris, thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you agree with what we concluded. I think that, like Matt, as you say for what you needs it's perfect, and it has a lot of character. Cars like these are rare now, and it seems odd that Toyota is one of the remaining few and is one of the most characterful ones too! As you say, packed with lots of kit from larger cars, and the warranty is amazing (that is extended if you service with Toyota).
      Sounds like you've gone really far with it, so clearly a great companion for longer trips! Love the colour scheme too, red + black (probably quite similar to the prologue concept?! The Aygo comes with great colours, and really like the two tone affect. Hope you continue enjoying yours!

      Can you please elaborate on the comparison between 17" and 18" wheels? You said you tried both and it would be hard to find someone else who did.
      I bought this car and I am waiting for it to be delivered, and the wheel size is maybe the thing that I was most indecisive with when choosing the trim, I went with 17"

    Just ordered a exclusive, get it in two months. I have a 21 top spec red and black Aygo, love the car done 40kmi currently. Only had to replace front tyres, and brake discs and pads the other week after 3yrs. Got the aygo x with soft top roof in cardamom green

      Oh wow, that's exciting! The green Aygo X looks great, and it has the orange highlights right? Clearly, you're like Matt, enjoy the previous Aygo and that's led you to the new Aygo X!
      The soft top is a great option, sounds like you've gone for a great spec! Hope you enjoy it when you get it like your current Aygo!

      Thanks , it's not got orange on it. I think that's the limited edition, it's same really but no heated seats. I didn't choose JBL speakers, as apparently that sub takes up alot of room in the boot.@@carmanick

      @@theparrsitivitypodcast ah ok! I think I've only seen/noticed the green ones with the orange bits. I don't quite know the specifications as well as my friend Matt here (who owns this Aygo X). Sounds like a nice spec. Yeah sometimes it's better not to have all the toys/options!

    the trouble is people use far to bigger cars for what they need. most these bigger cars were designed for the autobahn in Germany which is much superior to our roads not for a small island like ours and the substandard roads we have. the aygo x is a perfect size car for most people

    I had an Aygo X auto as a loan car from my Toyota dealer while my car was in for service. I thought it was great. Also Toyota's come with a 10 year warranty. I am considering downsizing to an Aygo X when my car is due for replacement. Lower running costs and insurance. Also larger Toyota's are now very, very exspensive.

      Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. Yeah all cars are very expensive, and I was surprised by the price of the Aygo X but then the cheapest cars nowadays are £13k+! The Aygo X is very well equipped. The warranty is a great initiative. Perhaps it would be a good move you!

      My health and not working ( cancer).
      I would be nice to see if jaguar progresses in the car market, with going electric ?.
      Keep the CZcamss up it's nice to see people enjoying there cars .
      I think the love of driving as disappearing now,it's just a product for work .

      @@ianjsallen100 The 2.0D was the first ingenium engine Jaguar launched which was a big thing, developing your own engines. Very sorry to hear about your health, I hope your prospects are good, and you get a chance to experience an F Type.
      Jaguar going upmarket and electric may work in its favour, chasing fewer sales with more extravagent products - we'll see!
      Thanks for the kind words, it's a lot of effort, and I tend to only cover cars I own and that I am passionate for, rather than any old car i come across. More just trying to get people interested in cars the media may have dismissed when new, but genuinely should be celebrated!

    I have the edge manual in juniper blue. Well fitted out with auto wipers, auto lights, reversing camera, lane assist, collision assist, adaptive cruise control. The one driven in the video is the pure. The higher trim levels are a lot nicer

      @carmanick  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi thanks for watching and commenting. The car in the video is an Edge, bought new by Matt directly from Toyota. The Edge comes in the two tone scheme (which the pure does not) and also the fabric roof isn't available as an option on the pure.
      Matt's Aygo X has all the equipment you've listed.

    Extremely odd rare tyre size =££££ at change time .
    Plus the rear door hinge opening angle is an absolute joke ? That alone cuts it's practically for me and could be the deal breaker when judged with competitive cars .

    • @carmanick
      @carmanick  Před 2 měsíci

      I think they could be fair comments. Toyota for this car have certainly made decisions in the name of design that has had knock on compromises, primarily the rear access and the larger wheels. I think it's a nice car, with a great design, decent boot and high levels of equipment, but it is always worth considering alternatives. Unfortunately A- segment cars are becoming few and far between. Thanks for watching and commenting

    • @carmanick
      @carmanick  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Haha perhaps! I mean it's a small car, but it definitely has less space than some cars a similar size, i reckon! The biggest issue is the access to the back seats, more than the space there!

    Cheap plastic interior,back doors are very thin and tiny under power engine i expect more for nearly£20.000 pound cheap rubbish very disappointing from Toyota your

    • @carmanick
      @carmanick  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I think that's fair, this is still a small car built to a budget and the materials reflect that. The rear doors are very tinny but refinement was quite good regardless. The engine is an old engine and some might think it is underpowered. It's not rapid for sure ;p.
      As you say despite being built to a price, it isn't a cheap car. Few cars are nowadays, surprised to see the Picanto starts at £15k and a Corolla from £30k! Crazy world. Then EVs on top are a big jump in price...
